Not everything Red does has to be random or destroy everything completely and blindly. Just because red is the emotion color, the color that doesn't sit back and plan doesn't mean it can't make a plan. It's just that it makes a plan and executes it immediately rather than waiting for more information or for someone else to act first.

Dio what are you talking about? The image of the card is in the OP.
This. Red is the color of emotion and freedom. It needn't be explosions, insanity, and battlerage 100% of the time. It's impulsive however it doesn't have to be chaotic constantly. Really, these more recent cards like Feldon, Act on Impulse and Deretti have been a breath of fresh (sulfur scented) air.

Funny how Sarkhan's intervention caused him to never be born(The KTK trailer... WOTC you sly bastards..) but that hiccup hasn't affected any of the other important characters on the plane.

Honestly, the flavor of this card is a little weird. If you cast it on your own creatures, okay fine. I suppose the creatures could be seen as a tribute for the dragons and now they'll ally with you. But if you presumably summon the dragons to eat your opponent's creatures why does your opponent have control of them? If they'll turn on you after you sicked them on their next meal, why are they willing to be under the command of the player they were sicked upon? Strange. This is a Pongify/Beast Within type of effect but flavorwise it's obviously meant to be a horde of dragons swooping in and eating all the cows.

Of course, I don't think these types of effects are solely U either. Sure it's mechanically in that slice of the pie, but why is it? Just because? It would seem to make more sense as a shared mechanic, or even better as a sort of convergent mechanic, between U and G as a combination of U's "I know how to work the essence of magic so I can change 'x' thing." and G's "I know how creatures and nature function/Animal transformations are druidic.". You know, sort of that mad scientist vibe that the Simic gave off. I'm surprised they didn't have a few more of these types of abilities.

No, this is exactly the same Sarkhan. He wasn't altered by time travel. The only change will come from his experiences in the past, especially his conversation with Ugin.
I didn't state that he was altered by time travel. What I meant was that though this is the same Sarkhan we've known, this character here being spit out from a paradox into a version of his homeworld where he was never born is the end result of an arc. A changed man but one that I expect to return somewhat to the roots the players first saw him in. I realize that I didn't make that clear.

I'm going with RG. As much as I'd like a URG planeswalker, I can't see any reason for Sharkhan to be U. He doesn't necessarily place any special value on knowledge or study or things of the mind(he doesn't value anything as much as dragons) and he has no experience with using or learning any U magic. Furthermore, this is a two color set. I'm not saying that they couldn't put a 3 color planeswalker in there, hell I wanted Narset to be R in some way, but that it's very unlikely. G is also the only color without a planeswalker in this block so far. Also, this Sharkhan is sort of the old Sarkhan but also a new Sarkhan at the same time, thus I think it would be fitting for him to return to the colors of his first appearance before insantiy set in. Finally, on this Tarkir the Temur are the Atarka. Prior to his temporal escapades Sharkhan was known to greatly respect the Temur, even stating that the Temur were the closest to the ways of the dragons. Now that they're the Atarka brood and are fully subservient to the dragons I cam only imagine he'd like them even more and would happily be aligned with them. Note that these are the only dragons who breath classic fire on Tarkir, Sharkhan has always utilized flame magic to emulate the dragons. Would Sarkhan not be more likely to choose the faction, or at the very least the colors of the faction that houses the dragons that he emulates and adores?

    Vral of the Hive 5
    Planeswalker - Vral
+2: Put 2 1/1 colorless Sliver creature tokens onto the battlefield.
-3: Vral becomes a 4/4 colorless sliver creature with indestructible and "Silver creatures you control are indestructible." until the beginning of your next upkeep.
-10: Search your library and all graveyards for X Silver creatures and put them onto the battlefield under your control where X is the number of Sliver creatures you control.
    [4]

What a coincidence, I just happened to have this in my notes. Art direction for this guy is a young bald boy of maybe 14 years standing outside of a Sliver hive in crags near a jungle. We can see that his right hand is jagged and somewhat alien in appearance and its growths bear resemblace to those found on parts of what little we can see of his face. He wants to become one with the hive. What bizzare magics has he been tampering with to accomplish his goal?

Next: A Kithkin planeswalker who cares about Kithkin things.

I actually really want to see the old Kahns in different roles. It certainly seems like Surrak stays in the Temur though he isn't a Kahn in the new present, I'd like to see Zurgo as an outcasted member of the Mardu, it seems like his headstrong attitude could cause him to rebel against the dragons. Narset is probably(hopefully) going the planeswalker route though I wish that she'll be UR rather than the WU that it looks like the Jeskai might be in DTK(which is odd because prowess really strikes me as a very UR mechnic) buy that's probably not going to happen. I really, really want to see Sidisi's current high and mighty persona reduced to a sniveling yes-woman of the new dragon kahn of the Sultai, perhaps she could be conniving and is secretly working to usurp power, so basically Starscream. Anafenza could easily become an tactiacian or simply the Abzan's best warrior, though it would be interesting to see her as a cleric or something as well.

If this does happen... totally called it. We already know that the dragons will be leading whatever the clans become in the "new now", this was the future that Chianul saw and I doubt they'd just toss something like that out the window. Along with that it will be awesome to see how the current Kahns are in this new future, Surrak sounds like he's probably more of a jerk though.

What I really want to find out is who the new "dragon kahns" will be in DTK. Color alignments, flavor, the works.
