I would watch it. I don't know enough about the storyline anyways for me to get critical about whether or not the director was faithful to the plot or not, and sitting in a theater for 1-2 hours watching a MTG movie, then going to play FNM sounds like a wild, wild, WILD night to me. :tongue2:
Lol,
"I Stifle my Ghostway! Your Kokusho doesn't set off, f'tard! In your face!"
"...Your creatures get removed. They won't be coming back. I swing with Kokusho, then sack it. You lose."
Blue mages went from countering any spell for UU, to countering a non-blue spell for 3U. Many dedicated blue mages I've talked to weren't happy with the transition. "Wizards hates blue", I've heard them say, over and over and over. Well, I think it's a good thing. It's not that I hate-well, yes, I do hate blue, but I think that blue has been in the past a tad too overbearing. I think that the new limit in Blue's control power was a wise decision overall, and it has greatly improved the environment.
Ghostway is way awesome! Just thought I'd get that out of the way before I continue.:) It's not that powerful, I know, being purely defensive 90% of the time, but hear me out. All the exploitations it can do with "come into play" effects, the fact that it only effects your creatures, and, as an Instant it grants *** evasion to boot! It works well with Haunt cards, obviously, though I still don't think that's enough to actually play haunt. Still, it's a good card in my opinion.
Haunt has its uses, albeit too little, too late at times, but there's no denying the charm that Orzhov possesses, what with their ruthless business agendas and secretive dealings. It's just that, if they exploited the agreement of the Guildpact so much and it granted them so much power, shouldn't we be seeing some of that in the cards?
Ripping off n00bs is wrong. They just got started in the game, and, as veteran players, we not only have to trade with them honorably, but also look after them as well.
However, I think that this rule does not hold for more experienced players. It is their responsiblity to know the price of cards, not mine. I don't feel obligated to inform them that their card is of such and such price if they are too lethargic to look it up themselves. Sorry, but I'm not your MTG godmother. And so, I would on occasion have the better end of the stick, so to speak, when trading with ignorant players.
When I heard that the B/W guild was coming out in Guildpact, I was ecstatic to say the least. I was curious about how they were planning to link the two colors when they seems so utterly at odds, and also because I look forward to see the awesome cards that would be released which encompasses two of Magic's favourite colors. However, as I read spoiler after spoiler, I find myself at a loss as to how to respond to the Orzhov guild. On the one hand, you have all these scary Aggro cards coming for Gruul, and on the other is Izzet's sheer madness and "combolicious" abilities. Then we have Orzhov. I have read some posts, with some stating that Orzhov would be underpowered, other overpowered, and others saying that they would be on par.
I guess the slow "bleeding" death strategy of Orzhov is viable, albeit a slow, slow, slow win. It's just that after the spoilers I just feel that Orzhov wasn't what I expected at all, and not in a particularly good way. It's playable, that much I know, but what will make me want to play it?
Hello. This seems to be the best place to get a good banner, so here goes. I would like to have one that is done in the Xander-Card Style, showcasing the Orzhov Syndicate. The quote will be "Satisfaction guaranteed. Our satisfaction." I would like the middle of the picture to be the Ghost Council of Orzhova. Finally, the name on the right side will be "Chained, Orzhov Entrepreneur", and the picture will be that of Orzhov Pontiff, with emphasis on him. Thanks a million!
I think that the shocklands are almost a given for "best card", if there is one. Personally, I really like Orzhov Pontiff. In terms of power and toughness, it's only a 1/1. However, I find the abilities it has highly versatile, and with Haunt it is able to reproduce the ability again later in the game, making it very playable in my Orzhov deck to be. And it having a picture of a fat guy laughing(?) his head off just closes the deal for me.
