2 for 1's are always popular. If Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir is playable at 2UUU, we can certainly find room for this. Also, can we pick 2 of the same one? Such as, counter two spells, or bounce two permanents?
Casual players? I don't think they're real. They're probably like the Paradoxataur: they only exist if you don't believe in them, and cease to exist when you do.
With all this talk recently about player etiquette, I just have to ask; who's the biggest jerk you've ever met, or played against, in Magic? Who made you wanted to leave the game in disgust, or throw your cards in his/her face?
For me, it was this one time when I was playing in a draft. The guy I played took forever to make a move , was condescending, refused to use a life counter, and, during the end of the first game *by which time everyone else have already finished their games*, I just scooped out of sheer frustration. Then I promptly won the second and third game. I've never been more glad to have won a game over a self-absorbed jerk.
We may have lost Cruel Edict, but we have Grave Peril! Seriously though, how is black going to deal with Paladins now? Other than Damnation, of course.
Right... so what is that, two extra swamps a turn starting turn five? Mind Twist for seven is online on turn seven? Terrifying. How many cards do you normally have in hand on turn seven, by the way (assuming the game isn't over yet)?
Alright, that's very true. But what about the fact that Mind Twist allows for other colors to have a powerful discard card with an easy splash?
I could almost see it being Mind Twist. Without broken mana sources to power an early huge one, I really don't know that it would be all that disruptive to the format, and after all, they keep saying they're putting stuff in this set that nobody thought they'd ever reprint. (preemptive note: it is not on the reserve list.)
Really? With a dedicated Korlash engine, (Grim Harvest, Infernal Tutor, Dimir House Guard), one can rack up big mana pretty quickly...Mind Twist is just too powerful a card because it's so easily splashable.
Black loses Phyrexian Arena, Hypnotic Specter, and Persecute once Tenth comes in. What does Black get in return? The only card worth mentioning would be Braids, Cabal Minion and Hidden Horror. Frankly, I don't care much for this new direction Wizards has for black, whatever it might be.

3 Graveborn Muses without a single way to subvert life loss? You sir, are either insane or inspiringly ballsy.
But Muse also has a life-for-cards mechanic, does it not?
