So how is that dog a soldier. Do creature types even mean anything these days?

That dog didn't go through a rigorous military training program to be disrespected like this!
    Best soldier.

So they just slapped Demon on each card type and put some horns in the art. Nothing about the cards has anything demonic mechanically. Zero downside. Zero additional costs to cast like life or resources. Oh how far magic flavor has fallen.

Demons haven't been required to have downsides or additional costs for a while now and I don't see any reason they should.

    Thats pretty bad.

All modes are strictly worse than the other charms so far and its just nothing you really want in the color combinations either.

The modes are just too specific and too weak.

No, it isn't strictly worse than the other charms. Generally worse? Maybe. Strictly worse? Not even close.
"it's nothing you want in the color combinations" well, it is extremely obvious that they are pushing the Cabaretti to a go wide version of Naya colours this time. So there will definitely be support for this in standard and limited.

I'm not talking about the decks. I'm talking about the set. For non-spring sets, the Commander decks are built with the set in mind. Spring sets are built with the Commander decks color identities in mind. Ikoria's triomes, the location not the cards, Strixhaven's Schools and Capenna's crime families.

WOTC can prove me wrong by having a set of allied colored Commander decks for the 2023 spring set and not have anything to do with allied colors, through both gameplay and story.

It's as if 2022's major Commander release is Shard colors, therefore the set must have some sort of a Shard theme.

I think you are thinking about this the wrong way around. The commander decks are done to match the colour archetypes of the set. Yes, Strixhaven and New Capenna are both colour-based faction sets and that does line up neatly with commander decks. But Ikoria wasn't a faction set, it just has a three colour theme. All sets have colour-divided archetypes to varying degrees. It's possible when deciding the lineup of sets for each year WotC are inclined to put sets with clear colour divided archetypes especially faction sets in the right spot for the commander release but I seriously doubt they would be pigeon-holing themselves into designing premier sets around a minor point of convenience for the commander releases.

Ob Nixlis killing the mafia boss demon

What demon? All the crime families have new flavourful legends that are alive.
Based on one of the key arts from the set

I’ve been wrong before. I also complained about C18 not featuring Serra and it turned out to have Arixmethes. Which we all know I adored. I’d like to be wrong about Ob killing a new character but we’ll see.

So you're complaining about something you've just assumed based on little evidence.
    Right.
Well, something confirmed in the key art of the set. Visual evidence is rather compelling.

Nothing is confirmed in the art. He does seem to have beat up a guy in one of the arts. Sure. But we don't know that that is Xander in that art, in fact I suspect it's not they look a little different (there may be a number of similar-looking demons in the crime family, like Xander's immediate family even, would make sense having literal family drama here), and also they may well not be dead.
Do try not to jump to conclusions.

Terrible name for a card. I almost want to say it's fake based on that alone (though I'm sure it's real)

I mean, c'mon. It's right there. Of course they named it this. C'mon.

I do feel like they could do a little bit more to distinguish the enchantment creatures. I like them being more open and flexible stylistically and creatively and don't mind if as a result it's not always obvious what is or is not an enchantment creature from the art, but these are pretty hard to tell. Add like bits of swirly energy or something idk. They do have the frame so it's not too easy to miss by the time it comes to gameplay but it does comes a little bit of an oh wait moment.
Hopefully we see more enchantment creatures in non-Theros sets and they can iterate on different executions. We can get a bit of a pattern going by then and people can have a better idea what to expect.
