Not sure if anyone stuck through it with this game, but there is a site with all the cards and a keyword definition page as well. Full disclosure, I built it http://www.mtgpq.com
If you want more interesting targets for flickering, Triskelion is good. Serrated Arrows is also not bad if you want a little bit of creature control.
You're sorceries are more of a hodgepodge it seems like. I would definitely go to 4 Liberate. Browbeat seems rather pointless, so I would drop those for the Liberate. I would drop Skullscorch too, if you want that effect, just play Hymn to Tourach
Just getting back into MTGO again, and I'd like to build some casual decks.
I know magictraders exists, but it's almost exclusively paper cards. Is there a decent site to help facilitate casual trading? I know the majority of people just buy/sell with the bots, but as a casual player, it's not worth the loss of value dealing with the bots. Sometimes I just want to trade a card for a card of equal value, not lose the 10% in every transaction with the bots. Or maybe I'm just doing something wrong?
If not a third party site, a easy way to do casual trading in game? I don't think I've pulled of a casual trade since v2 days!
I'd also recommend reading up MTGOAcademy and PureMTGO for articles focused on the online game. PureMTGO also runs a few articles on budget decks, you can read those for inspiration for ideas.
My wife is a "Burn" babe . . . she plays strictly mono-red and no matter the new brew I attempt, she just Bonfires me game after game taunting me . . . I guess I am a pretty lucky guy . . .
I am not familiar with the games you mentioned but we play a lot of Cribbage, Backgammon, Duckopoly (an Oregon version of Monopoly), Cranium, Risk and a few other games. All my kids have grown up playing board games or card games and we still do. Like you said, movies/TV just doesn't create a lot of interaction unless it is a football game and 'her' Packers are playing a team I like betters.
Dominion is a great game, easy to understand, lots of strategy, and most women who like to game seem to like it, give it a try. Setters of Catan is always a good modern game to play too, as is Ticket to Ride. All different, but in the modern board game category.
I resigned myself to buying 3 boosters of a new set to satisfy my pack cracking needs. That's usually not hurting enough on the budget to make a big impact, and at least I have some new cards to play with. Sometimes, you end up winning the lottery with a pack (I once pulled foil Tammy) that can further your booster fun if you sell
Since my playgroup all started playing at the same time (Revised) I keep a cycle of Revised beasts that we all loved when we first started, one for each color
B: Sengir Vampire
U: Mahamoti Djinn
G: Force of Nature
R: Shivan Dragon
W: Serra Angel
Just to tease it out, I'm in the alpha phase of developing a web tool for this. Track, manage and draft as well. If anyone is interested in helping me test, PM me.
I would also break the 'one of' rule, since the sheer number of unique cards can be daunting. Have lots of 'common' cards that have say, 4 copies of in the cube. Then 'uncommons' could appear twice. And rares/mythics can appear once.
While a good idea, you're really not a cube anymore once you do that...it's more like random collection to draft out of.
I would take that idea and just include cards of the same name that do the same thing.
I like the idea of having a newbie cube though, great idea. Maybe even just limit your cube to all the core sets through the years. Wizards has done a decent job of making core set accessible over the years.
I've been playing Magic pretty heavily since Revised to Rav, with some breaks in between. With multiple kids and other priorities, playing with my physical cards has become almost non-existent, esp with no one to play with (do play MTGO though) Anyways, I want to finally unload my cards and was wondering the best way to do it is? I figure unloading the power cards as individuals is probably best. Is eBay viable for expensive vintage cards? (Mana drains, duals, FoWs, CE P9, etc) I remember a few years back there were major issues with paypal returns or whatever. Is that still an issue? Or should I post in sales threads here or on other trading sites? Thanks.
I prefer Nekrataal over Bone Shredder
I don't see the point of Desolation Giant, if you want an effect like that, maybe Mageta the Lion

Just some top of my head comments
Aren't you in serious danger of decking yourself before you are able to win with this deck without more threats?

How about allowing users to tag decks? That way you can utilize your user base to help with identifying decks.

Resolution is what is it, widescreen not really supported either.
