In the recent build, I would take out so many counter spells. The deck is based around creatures. Lose the Whelks, they're not so useful since they usually cause you to tap out. Teferi slows the opponent down after he gets on the board, so that's very useful... I like the Ashcoat Bears, especially if the opponent doesn't play a spell in fear of you having a counter ready. I also like the Plaxmantas...
So far I've tested this deck twice on MWS... here's the results
Game one: Some sort of infinite damage combo
I drew into 3 Curses (two being in the opening hand). Needless to say my face was beaten off.
Game two: Husk
Curses worked well this game, as well as mindstabs. I topdecked 2 Racks and needless to say the game ended with him with 0 cards in hand taking 6 damage a turn.
I suppose the metagame at the FNM wasn't prepared for a deck idea like this. He has to play on a small budget and I can see how you don't call it competitive without duals... It would obviously do better with them
The idea:
Turn 1 Llanowar Elves
Turn 2 Signet
Turn 3 Tap Elves to pump into the Signet, and 3 land for Seething Song to play Form of the Dragon
Turn 4 Silhana Starfletcher, name blue, play Compulsive Research
Turn 5 Natural Affinity, then Pyroclasm
Turn 6- End game: Lockdown by destroying lands with Stone Rain, Demolish, or the combo above.
Matchups:
Token Deck: 2-1
Easily beaten due to Pyroclasm.
B/W: 2-0
The opponent's deck was slow, so the combo went off well.
U/G Simic: 1-2
Counterspells ruled against the deck and kept the combo off.
U/G Simic: 1-1-1
The opponent won because their tourney record was better than his.

Ok, I have a FNM coming up, and need deciding what kind of deck I should play. The choices have come down to R/U/B Burn/Control or U/B Control. Here's the decklist for U/B:
Work still needs to be done on the R/U/B deck. Suggestions for either deck are appreciated. Please don't suggest dual lands of any sort, because I don't have any, and have no way of getting any. Most rares probably won't be playable, but if it's a rare creature or spell, I might have one, but don't don't expect a definite yes...
A trip to the card store came out so-so... I couldn't find anything to fit into this deck, so I bought a pack of 5 randomly assorted rares, and found a couple useful ones. I pulled a Cerulean Sphinx and a Dimir Doppelganger... Could they be used in this deck? I think the Sphinx is useful for a beater, and then just wait for him to die and shuffle him into my deck.
I'll see what I can do about Rune Snags. The only person I know that has Moroiis is my buddy, but he's using them in his Telepathy deck... He might take them out in a few days though.
