So every so often my group and I like to spice up our EDH games with a challenge. Last year we set a $75 budget and built decks for each other. This year we each got challenged to build a specific commander ourselves. I'm the only one in my group without a mono black commander so I got given Maralen of the Mornsong. The problem is...I have no idea how to build this. Every idea I've got screws me over more than my opponents, or is a silly meme deck that's good for a goof but ultimately either one note or just doesn't work if you can see it coming. I'm super open to suggestions and I'd love to get some help on this one.
Hello, what's good party people? I'm trying to craft a Morophon, The Boundless EDH deck centered around Rogues and Prowl cards. I'm dismantling my first attempt at this which had Marchesa, the Black Rose at the helm because it ended up as sort of a "do nothing" deck. I played some fun Rogues, but ultimately nothing really did anything to win the game.
Now I'm back with version#2 of the deck with Morophon at the helm, and hopefully having a stronger commander with access to 2 extra colors of mana will help. Unfortunately, that hasn't really seemed like the case. I've done some goldfishing but the results have been a resounding "meh" up to this point. I'm really hoping there's some way I can tune this up. I'm not looking to crush my friends as I want everyone to have a good time, but I'm included in everyone and I really want to have deck that at least does SOMETHING to win.
Looking for feedback and suggestions! Cards to remove, cards to add, some fun synergies or strategies that I might not have considered before, all of its welcome! Thank you very much for your time!

Oh wow, thank you all for the suggestions! There were a couple that really jumped out at me. Neheb, Dreadhorde Champion looked interesting and so did Sasaya, Orochi Ascendant. Trying to assemble a hand of all lands really seems like a lot of fun, but I think I've been smitten by Titania, Protector of Argoth. That looks like a very interesting way to build Green. I just hope that the deck can keep up with God-Eternal Oketra which is my main concern. That seems like it's going to be very, very good at going wide but hopefully I can find a way to make this deck work out. I've got some ideas. Again, thank you all so much!
As the title says I'm looking for the most fun to play R or G commanders. My group thought it would be fun if we all built a different color, and I've got my choice of mono Red or mono Green. But uh, I don't usually enjoy those colors too much. Red is a fine complimentary color but I almost never play Green. The commanders my group has decided on are Kami of the Crescent Moon, God-Eternal Oketra, and Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker. The most interesting one I've found seems to be Grenzo, Havoc Raiser because at least then I can play with their cards and stuff. I'd love some input on the subject!
Doing this for my girlfriend's birthday, making updated versions of the first two decks we built when we very first started playing. Totally casual, just good fun and I want to make sure they're at least somewhat balanced against each other. Some of the card choices might look odd, but they're probably in for nostalgia. Hers (Orzhov) I actually have a strong grasp on already, but wouldn't mind some sleeper hit suggestions, or tune up cards to add in.
Simic, I have no idea what I want to do. The original was a mono green unfocused mess because I was new and bad at cards, but now I really want to build a more focused, stronger version. I mostly threw in some fun, low powered graft creatures, and some other cares about +1/+1 counters. The numbers are just placeholders obviously. I'm totally up for suggestions on that one. Huh. This is the first time I've heard that this was considered to be kind of a jerk move. I'd never even thought of something like that before. My group does this judiciously, but that's a knee jerk reaction to Sydri, Galvanic Genius and aetherflux reservoir, since that's a solid way to interrupt the infinite combo, and it doesn't just mean everyone at the table instaloses. Since that was the first time we'd thought of scooping in response to something, we kind of just kept it as a general thing and never really saw it as a problem. Its definitely interesting to see how other groups react to the same way. I had no idea it was rude, or whatever.

I'm honestly shocked that none of the partner commanders were rogues. Particularly Silas Renn, Seeker Adept. He seems like he'd be a perfect fit as a rogue, then I could add in another partner to round out my colors.
Ooh, another good one I just thought of. Captivating Vampire. A 3 mana lord that lets you steal other things? Yes please. Vampires have so much good support.
Yeah, I wanted to run Gwendlyn, but I super don't want to drop $60 for her. She was my first choice but unfortunately I don't have an unlimited budget. It was a good suggestion though!
No vampire deck is complete without Bloodline Keeper. Pure, unadulterated value.

As the title says. I'd really like to go 3 color since black/blue has some trouble dealing with artifacts and enchantments, but I'm having trouble deciding which color to add and which commander to make it while staying on theme. It bites that there's like, no legendary rogues. You'd think there's be more, but nope. I'm leaning towards Marchesa, the Black Rose because it seems like she's really synergistic with Rogue's sneakiness, and black's self harming card draw could let me get a few extra counters on my dudes if I play my cards right. Plus she's just all around valuetown.
Ooh those are some good suggestions. I might try to find room for Assault Suit for sure. I"m not actually sure what the enchantress suite is. Can you elaborate? I don't typically play enchantment focused decks like this.
So I got a wild hair in me to try and make a 5 color curse deck, and I realized that with Karona, False God always being donated to other people, I can really incentivise them to attack my opponents with the right curses. This will never be competitive, but I'm actually really excited because I think it's gonna be a ton of fun. I added in a lot of typical Enchantment matters cards like Ajani's Chosen, Doomwake Giant, Blightcaster and some dudes that draw me cards when I cast enchantments. The problem I'm running into now is two fold: How do I actually WIN, and what fun enchantments can I use from some of the less used enchantment colors? I'm willing to go down some enchantments or creatures I've got, but I'd like to keep as many of the curses as possible for flavor and thematic purposes. Land and mana rocks haven't been added in because I like to do that after I know exactly what my colors/ratios are gonna be. Oh, and obviously some non-enchantments would be rad too. Cheap tutors, good card draw, etc. The possibilities are endless!
