Well MaRo’s tripling obsession is worse than his doubling obsession. We already have more tripling card in less than a year compared to the amount of doubling cards over the course of the games life.
Pirates are neat I guess, but the choice to have one or more in this core set is a bit odd since it is so far from overlapping with Ixalan. I would think they'd be going more for relevant creature types from sets that are due to rotate out soon.
Thats exactly why it doesn’t need Pirates to get the boost. It’s much better that you don’t need them to fully use this.
It would be nice if there could be a way to group creatures without removing their flavorful types. A sort of creature super type, almost like Yugiohs elements, like Octopi, Kraken, Whales, etc could be Creature - Sea Monster - Whale. But that’d be rough on the type line for things that have multiple card types. That would allow for multiple tiers of tribal decks. If you’re playing a supertribe your overall synergy would be weaker to balance for the fact that you have access to more cards while normal tribes would get more powerful synergies to make up for the limited selection of cards. But I suspect that would be too much to ask for. I think we could still see instant as a super type to replace flash and group all things that can be cast at instant speed under the same thing but that’s about the extent of the messing with the type line they would do.
Yu-Gi-Oh does dumb ***** like not having multiple types on monsters that are obviously multiple types. Like Rokkets and Borrel’s obviously being mechanical dragons but only typed as dragons. They should be Machine Dragon.
I play commander and this is cringe. They should be uncommon. But honestly I wish Theros could get unique Legendary Lands instead of these temples every time.
At least Temples thematically make sense for Theros. They named the shockland generically so they can print them anywhere...and then only print them in Ravnica.
The Feral Prowler and Mulldrifter approve. At least, I think the elemental approves--can you evoke it then Village Rites with the evoke on the stack? Is spending 4 mana to draw 4 cards worth the time and effort to try and make it work? Either way, I like this card.
I doubt this is going to replace Cry of the Carnarium, the exile clause is huge, preventing LTB triggers and/or future reanimation shenanigans is normally more useful than a speedbump against PW's, sure, the versatility is nice but I don't think it's going to replace MB Cry of the Carnarium, much less the SB copies.
EDIT: Where did the may clause for putting the +1/+1 counter go?
It ran away with the may clause from Ajani's Pridemate and joined the circus. Apparently someone at WOTC has a vendetta against may clauses. I'm not claiming anything like "dumbing down the game," but it can definitely negatively affect some games of Commander (for example, to force growth with a Meekstone in play).
They did that on Pridemate because it’s less click on Arena...yes they officially stated that.
Just remember folks saying that WotC is toying long term to eventually get rid of paper M:tG because digital is easier to fix, and can get them money without having to physically print anything can only be though of as “carzy tin-foil hat conspiracy theroy people who have no basis for the idea.”
Just ignore the two points of data that appeared within a year of each other because they don’t agree with you.
Phasing 101:
Your creature does not leave or enter the battlefield.
It is considered to just not exist on the board.
It returns during your next untap step.
Any auras or equipment attached to it are also phased out and phase back in when it does.
Any counters on it stay on the creature.
This does not kill tokens.
Flicker 101:
Your creature leaves the battlefield, then returns to the battlefield.
It moves from the battlefield to the exile zone then back again.
The duration is based on the card.
Any equipment attached to it fall offs, while auras are permanently exiled.
Any counters on it fall off.
This kills tokens.
Flicker was originally part of Phasing. More likely than not, Phasing will be easier to grasp for new players when they interact with it on Arena than in paper.
I mean you are getting several things wrong in your explanation of it so it seems like it's harder than you think to understand it.
They only got one thing wrong per each category.
Aura’s and equipment don’t phase with a creature unless the effect says they do for phasing. The phasing in before untap step while wrong, is close enough to how it works and is easy to correct since it just one word off.
Aura’s don’t get exiled when the object they’re attached to gets exiled unless the effect says so.
Other than that everything else they stated is 100% correct.
They compensate their corona losses with premium products.
Not really. If you can’t sell your regular product, you can’t sell your premium product either. And nothing this year, or next few years for that matter, was planned with covid in mind.
And they still refuse to just make it a set to get the needed cards people want. Nope it sell has to be a draft set. Stop making everything draft WotC! Every f-ing set doesn’t need to be draft. Stop doing that for reprint focused sets....just f-ing stop!
This being stronger in a mono red aggro/burn deck than a Zombie deck should tell how overpowered it is. Thats not even getting into black/red aggro decks. No ones gonna cry about losing 1 life to Disfigure(which this card acts similar to against 2 toughness or less creatures) or Crippling Blight an opponents creature.
Flame-kin were actually introduced in the first Ravnica block.

You are correct. That play is legal.
Cry rotates in five months doesn’t it?
Nah can’t make Goblin Guide worthless on the secondary market bro. WotC can’t make real money without ‘whale’ hunting.

Don’t remember Gavin saying it. Blake Rassmusen definitely did in Prof’s video.
