This is also likely a nod to the chaos after the decision to make Cryptic Command a textless promo. Even playing in that Standard environment and seeing it every tournament, most people at the time could not remember all four modes, let alone the correct order they appeared in for resolution. Having different versions with different abilities is a great bit of nostalgic humor on many levels, well done WotC.
A comment like that feels like someone trying to manipulate who sends first, which raises a red flag for me. I've traded online for over a decade (though only here the last year or so), and while the other user has some right to be concerned if you have no recent feedback, that does not seem to be the case here. Reputations are built over time, and discounting that point out of hand is not something I would personally agree to.
Good point Duxx, I also use the toploader sandwiching method for larger trades involving lower-end stuff (placing the toploader sandwich in a plastic slip so it doesn't spill everywhere or require tons of tape). Saves on shipping and is generally easier for the recipient to open, so everybody wins.
I also send cards in a sleeve, in a toploader (taped shut, right side up), in a padded envelope, and have done so for the 9 years I've traded cards online. No more than 2 cards to a toploader, as more makes them difficult for the recipient to extract, risking damage to the cards when they do. If you have particularly rigid toploaders that don't open very far, stick with 1 per toploader. All my cards arrive as they left, making the few extra cents I spend per envelope well worth it.
