I'm toying around with 3 Tormod Crypt in my sideboard to fight against zoo. I seem to have problems fighting through their big guys and surviving after a Boom//Bust hits me. I still run three finks in the main and one in the board but it just doesn't seem to work out for me. Any one else have any suggestions on how to fight Zoo? I almost am willing to go as far as maindecking one Stomping Ground and one Sacred Foundry to throw Firespout in my wishboard.
I guess my problem with running the sword package is that it's really inconsistent; we have zero card draw and zero ways to tutor it out. When you lose the one and only relevant sword for the matchup you can only get it back by running a toolbox Witness of by running three of the same ones. Running the toolbox seems fine but running three copies of one (other that Fire and Ice) seems like a bad choice unless you've got your meta down to a science. Destiny gives a really good form of evasion and a way to protect from an aerial assault and has a good chance of sticking around as much as the swords do. Ok, after I got done typing all of this I realized your comment on the CC; I run two Gaddock Teeg main board and three Glittering Wish. I think I'm done riding the Angelic Destiny train now. Now I just have to sell a kidney to get two more Sword of Fire and Ice.
The only reason I ask is because it seems to fix the issue of having little fliers and it sticks around about as much as the swords do; it doesn't offer protection but without Stoneforge Mystic it seems like we just test our luck with the swords. Maybe it's worth testing or maybe it's a pile.
Here's a few more; Mia didn't turn out quite the way I hoped but my selection on colors is limited until I can pick up a few more. Maybe I'll need to revisit her.
@ Ebon: Those Greaves are mighty fine looking; I really like the way you kept those colors separate instead of letting them mix together.
@ Rabbit: I second a background; otherwise the card just seems bare (I see that's kinda the point though).
@ ssalternation: The thing I see that can be tweeked on your Charizard is hitting those lines again, you seem to have painted over a few and left some of them broken up. This part is just personal taste but I think something gets added to a character alter when you leave the original art in the background.
@ shunma and anyone else who cares: Thanks for the compliment, those guys all hit the auction machine earlier today and I'll keep belting new fun stuff out for peoples viewing pleasure.
@ pet snake: I'm not much of a paint guy but I think if you are waiting to pull the tape after the paint has dried then you could be losing some of your art off the side. I could be totally wrong here but that's about the only thought that comes to mind.
@ poxy: Your stuff is always super cool. Whenever I see the Ancestral Recall guy I always want to turn my music down, just for him.
@Voxplayer: That Brainstorm is damn slick! Wish you'd have painted out the guy from the BG, though.
@Woolywoo: Your Ackbar looks good, but we need a better pic or a scan!
Also, if anyone is interested, I think my Kanagawa Wave Top is going up for sale tonight or tomorrow on the ol' auction site.
I'm gonna try and pay off a credit card in the next few months, I want to see how quickly alters can get me there!
Thanks for the compliment and future advice. I didn't know if the bit that was hanging out would be a huge deterrent or not. I'll remember to position them better for the next three since I thought about making a "smart females of rpg's" type of theme; since I don't use paint (wouldn't mind learning but in the past it hasn't treated me well) I have to block out anything that looks weird with the artwork.
If it's sharpie you should be able to see a reddish purple tint in the reflection. I'm not sure what other markers reflect this color but that's what sharpies do for sure.
This is a really nice take on Mana Crypt.
Your portrait work makes me happy every time. I feel like whenever I see Billy Dee Williams though I need to see a can of Colt 45.

When you play 5 color, you don't have to worry about this so much since you have access to every good tutor in the game.
I used to play the basic Progenitus EDH with finest hour and the like but the only other creature I ran was Bringer of the Black Dawn.
