    Went 1-3 tonigh with

    http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/uw-emeria-f-sunny-t/

    heres how it went:

    Match 1: Abzan 2-0
The first game was grindy. He got an early scavenging ooze, but I was able to grind through to get Titan online. Felt like a normal emeria game. I sided in 2 fragmentize for hatecards. The next game he mulled to 5 and couldnt get going.

    Match 2: blue moon 0-2
The first game I had two spreading seas in hand, which felt pretty useless. He played a blood moon, which I d sphered, but he landed jtms and buried me in card advantage. I sided in negates and Tormods crypts. Next game he landed a turn three blood moon with me having only non basics on board. I felt pretty helpless in both of thes matches. Whats good sideboard tech here?

    Match 3: Affinity 1-2
First game I mull to 4, but I ended up just a land short of stabilizing with supreme verdict. This match felt winnable. I side in stony silence, fragmentize, supreme verdict, lone missionary and blessed alliance. I pulled out wall of omens - thanks fincon, I hadn’t thought to pull those in the past. In game 2, I am able to fragmentize and path threats to survive into the late game. Game three he draws the nuts and kills me on t3. Not much I can do on the draw here. I feel like I always beat affinity when Im on the play and lose on the draw.

    Match 4: Ponza 1-2
I won game 1 with a wrath into a sun titan. I side in lone missionary and supreme verdict. Game 2 I let a lessig wolf run linger a bit too long and it eventually got in enough damage to kill me. Game 3 I finally take control of the board, but he topdecks a inferno Titan into a pia and Kiran and burns me out with three sun titans on board. This match felt really winnable.

Overall I feel like I could have been 3-1 with a little better luck. Gideon of the trials was really strong when he came down and won me a couple games by himself. I dont think I cast resto once tonight, but also not sure I wanted to. Maybe these slots can be used for more reactive cards to the meta. A little more life gain would have won me matches with affinity and ponza

Thanks for the feedback. Here’s my list: http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/uw-emeria-f-sunny-t/

Sideboard has been a work in progress lately, and I just don’t feel like I’m doing it right between games. Do you mind posting sideboarding strategy for other common matchups? The deck has come a long way since the primer

How are is everybody sideboarding against affinity and eldrazi tron? I feel like I’m dedicating more sideboard slots to these matchups, then cards I’m actually pulling from the deck. I’m running a similar Wu version to some of the more recent posts.

Is it possible to update the sideboard guide at the beginning of the thread?

I’ve been working on a BW list myself. How has asylum visitor been working for you? Is he more of a budget dark confidant, or are you getting a lot of draw?

Also, why kitesail freebooter over tidehollow sculler? Is the evasion and human synergy getting you better mileage than being able to target creature cards in hand?

I played the Wu version last night and struggled with a bant spirits matchup. Spirits has some natural advantages over emeria Titan with fliers going over our ground creatures and [[selfless spirit]] and [[spell queller]] hosing [[supreme verdict]].

I noticed I’ve struggled with tempo decks (like fairies) in the past, what are you guys siding in these situations?

I run 2 ss main. It's never dead because it cantrips and can be a lifesaver against certain decks. At its worst, it's slow and you'd rather it were removal. I like it because it helps keep the decks curve low

I havent played with the green splash before, but I know there's a lot of discussion on it earlier in the thread (in response to restoration gearsmith being printed). Concerning the mortarpod vs blasting station, I would go one or the other. I run 2x mortarpod to keep my curve low, but find myself siding them out in a lot of matchups. STEve allows you to run a lot of two drops so blasting station may work better in your build over pilgrims eye. If you are running blasting station, I would find space for a fiend hunter to enable the infinite combo.

Unfortunately, reasonable speed is not a part of this decks game plan. I've gone to turns many times and been forced to draw games I would have won. Approach of the second sun is a fair option to wrap things up, but it's going to spend a lot of time waiting in your hand when you will be wanting removal or a value creature/chump blocker.

If you want to speed things up, try restoration angel. I added it to my list as a 2 of, and it's been great. It provides extra blink effects and a strong clock.

@fincown - Thanks for the feedback! It was an end step abrupt decay on a d-sphere holding a seize rhino that did me in, but at that point we were both just topdecking so it could have gone either way.

Regarding the Melira matchup, I looked over some decklists online and I think I have all the right disruption - spreading seas, path, wrath effects - is there anything else you would side in? For example, is it worth a pithing needle for viscera seer? Or would you bring in countermagic for coco and chord?

On a side note, I think I'm going to give knight of the white orchid a try over pilgrim's eye (as a 2 of). Has anyone gone down this road and turned back?

Quick Tournament report from an scg iq, here is my decklist:

    http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/uw-emeria-f-sunny-t/

M1 - grixis shadow: 2-0, i felt blown out the last time I played a shadow deck (jund), but this one felt much easier. Shadow decks have a limited card advantage engine when their creatures aren't eating yours every turn. The deck basically has 8 threats, and is slow enough to allow the emeria / titan engine to grind it out.

M2 - eggs: 2-1, he got game one with the combo, I sided in all my counter magic and was able to stick a creature with counter mana open in both subsequent games.

M3 - esper mill: 0-2, I would have needed a lot more counter magic in the side to win here. Mind funeral and glimpse the unthinkable followed up with surgical extraction on all my win cons did me in.

M4 - abzan: 0-2, both games were very grindy, with the either side feeling like it was winning throughout the match. Does anyone else side out d-sphere to avoid blowouts from abrupt decay here?

M5 - BG: 2-1, grindy games like with Abzan, but I was able to pull ahead. New addition restoration angel was helpful against new liliana.

M6 - melira company: 0-2, game 1, I mulled to 5. By game 2 I'm exhausted and no hope of reaching top 8 led to suboptimal play. As a result, im not sure where this deck truly stands in this matchup, or the best sideboard hate for it. Anybody care to fill me in?

Spoiler season again, what does everyone think of the monuments?

specifically, bontu's monument which has a blood artist effect with cast triggers as opposed to death triggers. Also oketra's monument creates tokens

Both reduce casting costs but are narrow in that they only trigger on casting

Wouldn't you rather have the instant speed removal option with phyrexian plaguelord than the anthem effect of maw of the obzedat or sorcery speed discard of sadistict hypnotist?

So I just started building teysa and just went through the thread. One thing that stood out to me is that no one has mentioned phyrexian plaguelord. It offers a free sac outlet and removal, but 5 cmc.

    Thoughts?

I just took my UW list to states.

    http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/uw-emeria-f-sunny-t/

Been lurking on this thread for a while but never had a chance to play it competitively. The deck played better than its final record (3-1-2). Here's how it went:

    Match 1: infect, 2-0
This one was easy enough, removed infect creatures until they spend their hand then piled on

    Match 2: 5c kiki/ resto combo, 1-1-1
Got a surprise combo in came 1, sat on counter magic for game 2 until overwhelming the board, game three went to turns. I had con emeria online, but was still a few turns away from being able to finish him off.

Match 3: BW death and taxes, 2-1
He got mana screwed game 1, then me on game 2. Game 3 went late and he was overwhelmed by multiple sun titans

    Match 4: mardu control, 2-0
I drew well here, being able to take an aggro role with multiple lone missionaries and flickerwisps. G2 was similar, but he was manascrewed.

    Match 5: deaths shadow, 0-2
This was the only match where I felt out matched. He thoughtseized all my removal and I was quickly overwhelmed by goyf and [[death's shadow]].

    Match 6: W Death and taxes, 1-1-1
This one stung because it was a win and in for the top 8. G1 I went to the late game, and his ghost quarters and tec edges made the game take forever. He won game 2, I think this deck is just to slow on the draw, and I was unable to play spells responsively through his taxes. Game 3 played like game 1 but went to time before I could cement a win.

Overall, having blue really helped between [[detention sphere]] and [[negate]]. On both ties, I was taking control of the board, but many attacks away from winning. I feel like my opponents realized this in both cases where I drew, and intentionally took their time on their turns. what does one do in this situation? My opponent in match 2 burnt 5 min shuffling and sideboarding between games 2 and 3. Are there rules against this? Can I put up a timer?

I'm hoping as I play more that I'll speed up, but this deck may be too slow for paper magic. Has anyone else had this experience?
