In general, smileys can be used to "offset", or handwave away things you don't really want to be scrutinized. It can be a sign of nervousness as well. Going even further, it can be used as a replacement for actual words, which gives less things to scrutinize.
In the actual post of void's; it could be read that he doesn't want people to look into the original point, and is placating them with the smiley.

I completely mangled my sentence on burst as I copy+pasted part of the sentence but forgot to finish the rest. Also I remembered Artifice's point on TIM being self-concious in his posts is bull**** because some people are just careful with their posts.
So what I meant to say about burst:
Didn't like the vote on TIM, not much reasoning in it, and also didn't even read Art's case. However the fact that she (?) dumbly claimed her race evens that out.
So why are people voting TIM again? His smiley point is perfectly valid. The case on him was complete bogus and Artifice is pretty scummy. Case is pretty bad, and his second wall of text wasn't much better.

Pretty bad. Others have commented, but it was obvious he was joking, and this sort of question paints you as oppurtunistic: either to wagon on a dumb comment or to actually try and get a wagon going on one of the other 2 (yanni/burst IIRC).

Also it helps that Void was my mentor recently and he's purely town in this game. He's genuine, sincere, and realistic. If he were scum it would be patently obvious to me. He's town. Deal.

Personally I like W_G as scum - the question he posted to heartwork + that fence sitting between artifice/tim was pretty scummy. His forcefulness towards TIM seems fake to me, maybe to make his decision between artifice/tim more legit (it isn't). vote: W_G
TIM might or might not be scum, but he sure as hell isn't for the "case" on him right now. Artifice seems really tunnel-visioned. Most of his points are rather... weaksauce (in fact the entire first PBPA is rather weak) - the omgus is pretty bad, that underlined "you're scum. period" thing.. I disagree with his analysis of TIM's reaction; it seems genuinely honest anger as the points on him at that point were all bull****, whereas the small smiley accusation he leveled was a fair point.

I don't softclaim ever on day 1. I don't see a point, on the front page there's a sample town PM anyways IIRC (firebat?). Prob 7-8/10 for SC knowledge (played SCBW alot), though I really see no point in this information.
In Sc each rase had an "easy" tier 2 unit that could hit both air and ground: Goliath, Hydralisk and Dragoon. At least at my beginning days as a sc-player I loved just amassing those units, as that didn't require much choosing. (note that hydras were tier 2, the roaches of sc if you like).

in BW you had a 125 mineral unit that was faster than any other ground unit, could 2 shot workers, AND had 3 nukes installed after getting an upgrade
