I've been playing against a fair amount of worships lately and I like having 1 or 2 rec sages to kill those.

I am so excited for Dauntless Bodyguard.

This list is/was really helpful for my peasant call be and I. Thank you.

Compared to spear I definitely like Benalish Marshall better. Spear off the top is much better on an empty board and the 2 are very similar on a crowded battlefield.

Untamed kavu was so good in my deck this past week. I won games in both modes.

    Very impressed with it.

NEW AND IMPROVED GUIDE TO HATEBEARS I have been playing this since Craig Wescoe posted this list (even though he slightly changed it). He is the master, and I do like the list quite a bit. The sideboard guide helps a lot for someone like me who hasn't played this deck in a year or so.

He admits that the list in his article is super soft on merfolk/elf hate. I would suggest Engineered explosives and Gaddock Teeg for elves as well as Linvala, Keeper of Silence. For Affinity, maindeck Qasali Pridemage in high numbers seem great. Wescoe feels that Kataki is unplayable (in the comments section of the article). Blade Splicer and Flickerwisp are good maindeck choices against Affinity too. Splicer blocks everything, most importantly etched champion, and Flickerwisp can reset counters from a ravager, remove a plating from an attacker as well as block all their fliers.

19th place Human Company by Ray Gordon
This list that top 32'd GP Vegas looks legit. This must be the direction going forward. I played it at the past several FNMs going: 4-0, 2-2, 3-0-1. It's incredibly explosive, it can grind very well, and after sideboard it has really great tools to fight almost every deck in the format. I give it 2 thumbs up.

    Edit: Added decklist link.

I'm currently jamming geist into people and have 2 spell queller main. My local store is a bunch of midrange decks that can't remove a geist. However there is very little infect or goryo's vengeance or ad nauseum etc so spell queller is not what I want to be doing.

I just recently started playing the deck too and have fallen in love with it. I feel that with tight play, no match-up is scary. (though i personally find ways to mis-play against infect all the time, but that's my inexperience with the deck showing). I'm curious what other player's prefer as their long grindy game sideboard card. I see Keranos, god of storms in some lists and elspeth, sun's champion in others. Which do you prefer and why? I currently have both in my board but that is more indecision on my part as opposed to wanting a higher density of late game threats.

Playing without thought scour seems silly to me. It often feels like a dark ritual that also cantrips when I cast it. That level of power is too high not to play in a deck whose win conditions are delve creatures.

I've been playing 5c tribal flames for a few weeks to great effect. I've told myself that I am going to keep playing the deck until someone at my store punishes me for doing so, so far no one has. Turn 1 noble hierarch into turn 2 geist of saint traft into turn 3 siege rhino is tough for lots of decks to slow down/beat.

Man have I had some bad beats VS GR Tron lately. The match-up feels so good on paper, but when they have natural turn 3 tron it's hard to stop them. mindcensor, stony silence, ghost quarters and tec edges are what I have been mainly using. Am I missing anything?

Thanks for the response. I have consistently had fulminators in my board as well as stony silence. RG tron is the only match-up that is really giving me fits so it might need to add the aven and the teeg to try and win. Normally I wouldn't go so hard against one deck in my sideboard but this player at my store is very good, he wins almost every week.

So I played a version of this deck last night and had a lot of fun with it. I won all of my rounds but I got absolutely wrecked by the RG Tron player at my LGS. What are the best cards for this matchup? I felt very inferior the whole time, like I never had a chance to win.

I have been playing my list for two weeks and have finished 4-0, 3-1, 3-1 in the official modern events. The decks that seem to be giving me the most trouble are Merfolk, Wilted-Abzan, and Rakdos 8-rack. Those are the oly decks that I have played so far that have felt like rough match-ups (Merfolk feels very 50/50).

My thoughts on the CoCo conversation: I think that Collected Company is a very strong card in our deck. It has a very similar function to aether vial but CoCo does something that vial does not; providing pure card advantage. Yes vial also puts creatures in at instant speed, and yes the vial activation dodges counterspells but CoCo often puts TWO creatures in to plat at the same time for only one card! I thus far in my games I have never put less than 2 creatures in to play.

I would not cut CoCo from my deck. It not only provides card advantage but it is good in any stage of the game (early, mid, late or ahead, behind, paraody)

PS Tonight against a Rock deck I kept a triple smiter 4 land hand in game 1. He cast inquisition of kozilek on me turn one cringed, adn showed me a hand of 2 lands 4 discard spells and 1 abrupt decay. I <3 Hatebears.

Edit- I play a pair of Eternal Witness mostly to get back CoCo, but it also has been good for recovering the hard to remove creatures like Kitchen Finks and Voice of Resurgence against decks the have limited removal.
