Just think about it this way. Even if you have no way to fetch for basic land types, you can play any of the Swamp shocklands on your first turn (say Watery Grave to have both those colors turn one. Next, you can play any of the M13 or Innistrad duals that require a Swamp (say Dragonskull Summit on the second turn and have it come into play untapped giving you access to yet another color on turn two.. The only cost for these duals is 2 life, and you only have to pay that life if you actually want to use the land the turn you play it.
Now add to that the ability to get them with fetchlands like Marsh Flats and other cards that search for basic land types but don't specify 'basic' like Farseek or Liliana of the Dark Realms and you have some very, very good lands.
At first glance I thought it was a joke too. Has wizards really lost touch with their player base this badly. Unless this is a new improved Tibat 2.0 and Sorin 2.0 or has some absolutely omg godly cards in it, this is going to fail like so bad.
On the other hand, Watch they'll announce vindicate, B/R Tibalt 2.0, Mortify, and Terminate. Then they'll announce shops will only get 1.

I went to a standard tournament and was surprised to get totally thrashed by some Green/Black rogue number that's been ever present and doing well in the local scene. That deck is about to get way more scary and yes I for one welcome our new lords and masters.
I don't understand your logic. As a dealer I will charge over MSRP because that is market price and I would be stupid not to. As a dealer I would be better off if it had a FTV allocation because we would make more money off the release of this product than we will now.
As a player/collector, I absolutely love that they have made such a limited product and I am very excited about it.

Oh not sure how an online store is selling a product that's only suppose to hit and only marketed to brick stores, so yah I gave WoC the info for this store and asked them. This was not their first run, earlier today there were 6 preorders, then 8 more.
Seeing as this set is $75, anyone wanna speculate as to what cards exactly would make it double the MSRP of a FTV set?

I own playsets of Duel Lands, but I really wish they would be printed in something like this, just so they wouldn't be so omg rare. Mine wouldn't going to go that far down in price so... Probably its the dice though.
As a dealer I should dislike this allocation. Yes, we will make money. However, we would make more money if it had the same allocation as FTV...unless these go for $500 each.

Now why would you do that if it was as a player. The logic of your arguments only make sense when you apply them as a dealer that stands to make a ton of money off a very limited product. You can fail to see it all you want, but you're wrong. Let me reiterate what I said a few pages ago: If you are unhappy about the extremely limited allocation instead of thrilled by it, this product is NOT intended for you.

Ok, I'm going to reiterate what Dr. Jeebus is saying. He has a vested interest to defend the limited print run. He has already stated that he is a dealer and indicated that he will be marking up the price of this when he sells this.
Wizards has already indicated on multiple occasions that the reserve list was a mistake. I would speculate that there is an alternative legal reason (like copyright or something similar) that exists preventing them from scraping it.
That's a confusing solicitation. Is it 2/4 units each of the individual product AND the master carton? I don't understand why they'd even list the bloody cartons if they aren't distributing them in this form. A 10/20 distribution depending on store level seems to make sense.
The cartons don't have a UPC or product code. It looks like they're only being used for shipping purposes. I would be delighted if one unit = one carton, but all the information that I've heard indicates that this is not the case.
