So how exactly is wizards going to actually succeed on printing what people want when they know actively doing so will just destroy the current game completely? They may have thousands of different cards, but only a fraction of them are worth a damn to most players and commander is about the only place that second best cards can even see play.

The same way they put Wurmcoil Engine in 2014 and and no one complained. It is possible to reprint sought after cards and the game isn't destroyed, in fact it happens often.

The idea that reprints will destroy the game is bunk.

I am baffled that there are people that still are afraid of reprinting cards because the game will die. Just do some decent reprints already!

No MSRP equals to less transparency for the consumer. I want to know as much information as possible for the products I am purchasing from the company of my preference. Also, Magic is Global but special editions are locked for US customers, LMAO.

If the Gatewatch falters and the Planeswalkers fail, the curtain will fall on the age of heroes—and rise on the infinite reign of Nicol Bolas."

And this here is exactly why Bolas can't possibly win, or the rest of Magic will just be a series of postcard sets called 'Bolas visits Ixalan', 'Bolas visits Innistrad', 'Bolas visits Kaladesh' etc., each featuring a PW card called 'Bolas - God of [plane]', with art depicting him laughing maniacly against an assortment of backgrounds. Grin

    I can live with that!

I like reading about deck creation strategies and synergies between obscure cards and / or commanders! Also the rotisserie draft posts were very fun to read Smile

I promise that once grad school is finished in May, we will do another Rotisserie Draft. I loved those things too.

Also it would be cool to host and tape some games with the RC, if one of you guys have a hd cam it shouldn't be so much of a hassle Smile or we can all ask Josh to invite you on Game Knights Smile

    • Duelist against the mirror and red weenie creatures?
    • Deep Freeze acts as pseudo removal (it is fantastic against walkers, niv mizzets and other resolved creatures which are blocking the way)
    • I am such a noob in standard so that's why i never figured that melody is good agains krasis.
    • I never used Jace, it seems like tempo setback for me.
    • Wand seems very clunky, maybe against Niv?
    • Stroke goes against control?
    • Sleep against go wide?

Quick SB question: Where do you side in exclusion mages and entrancing melody and what do you take out?

edit: I am running the Andrew Haynes list with minor alterations and it's backbreaking in Arena BO3.

The only useful aspect of MTGA for me ( I am mostly f2p, i just bought the welcome pack and played since closed beta) is to learn how to draft. I saved 40k gold and some wildcards from grinding preseason so i am patiently waiting for RNA drafts to start, to accumulate some cards to build a couple of decks. I just have to get comfortable with the idea that i won't be able to go further than high plat/low diamond without a full mana base. I don't see myself spending cash on this game, especially in this beta stage. WotC business decisions have been historically weird so...

    Not for lack of trying.

"Why do you think you should be on the CAG?"
"Because together we can unban Recurring Nightmare."
I'm still waiting to hear back from him.
    You have my vote.

We need to make a rant thread so I can rant about the mulligan / land flooding algorithm. I am so annoyed by it. I play a monoR deck with 24 lands and I am quite sure that i mulligan or don't draw lands way too often, accounting my confirmation bias.

Has anyone else noticed that Sheldon hasn't logged onto MTGS in over 5 months? I always look forward to whenever he pops in.

Cryogen was correct about my priorities. Since early September, I've focused on treatment and recovery (which, if you didn't know, also involved surgery in October that I'm still recovering from). In the middle of all that, my mother died somewhat unexpectedly, which of course created additional challenges.

That said, my latest scans were clear and I'm back up and operating close to 100%, which means you'll likely see more of me here.

Also nice to know that I was missed.

Sorry about your loss Sheldon but happy to hear that you're almost fully recovered. Looking forward to seeing more of your insights here and thank you for your response in the SCG thread, it clarified your intentions and your thoughts when writing the article Smile
