For graveyard hate I have 2 Relics in the SB, it's not as final as RIP, so it doesn't totally switch off the Eternal Witness.
But now that I'm splashing black, maybe Nihil Spellbomb isn't a bad idea either, since we only exile opp's GY, and we can get it back with Witness too.
Also, I like keeping 4 Evo's in the deck, so you still could possibly have Bird evo into Anafenza as an opener.
Hi all,
I've been doing pretty well with the list provided below, so I figured I'd at least share it and give some comments on several cards that stand out.
- Kitchen Finks replaces Blade Splicer; the burn decks are pretty dominant here, and Kitchen Finks can live through a sweeper. Resto, Wisp and Township help reset the Finks for even more value. I've been winning more grindy games as result and the burn matchup has become much better than just living on hope of drawing one of your 2-3 oozes in the first game.
- Loxodon Smiter; not a common card in D&T, but adds a clock, especially with a Hierarch. Once people try to remove it, it helps to have 4 mana and a Resto ready.
- Sigarda; a singleton as this is supposed to be a bomb to swing things my way, or at least a card that can hold off a Tasigur, if needed. A late game card that usually resolves against permission decks, since all the other cards cast before it may already eat up the permission and the smiters can only be dealt with via removal.
- Dromoka's Command; too versatile not to run at least side, tho I have experimented with running it main as well. Synergy with Finks, works as removal, and prevents red sweepers from taking out my team. Oh, and screw you, Keranos!
- Gaddock Teeg; annoying card vs enough cards to throw my opponents off their game. I'm not sure this card is supposed to be in here, but the look on my Tron opponents with Ugin, or blue players frustrated with the Cryptic Command in hand has stolen me a few games I may have otherwise lost.
- Baneslayer Angel; a lot easier to get rid off then Sigarda, but usually she doesn't come into play when people still pack a hand full of removal. Holds off Tasigur and Angler pretty well.
I don't know any Korean, but I figured I'd post it anyway.

- If something gets banned from Amulet, it'll be Summer Bloom. It'll be like Eggs: when they banned Second Sunrise, there was Open the Vaults if you were crazy/stubborn enough to want to play it, but the fact was that the deck was out of tier 1-2 permanently. In case you didn't know the "bad Summer Bloom", it's Journey of Discovery.
I think Explore may be the better alternative for Summer Bloom.
Edit: Never mind, I need to learn how to read, apparently.
I am under the impression my Power and Duels will hold their value, I have seen nothing promised to me that my Goyf will. Price issues in Modern is an artificial problem that can be easily solved. This is not Legacy, there is no Reserve list. I do not know why a creature not on that list needs to cost more that a Bayou. Any time price comes up as an issue in Modern I am honestly confused. I thought the point of this format was that issues like this could be solved.
That's my feeling on the issue as well, eventho I don't play Legacy. I think Wizards is slowly trying to offer more supply to highly sought after Modern staples, but at the same time needs to prevent another Chronicles debacle. For this reason I'm very curious how the price of Tarmogoyf will develop after MM2 is released.
Oh, and on the B&R update:
My guess is nothing will come off the banlist, but they'll add Summer Bloom.
Dos modern burn actually play been at all thigh? I'm a Modern neophyte, so I may be off base here, but if only seen burn played in Modern as mono-R or boros. What else is there in green that makes this worth splashing into burn decks at the cost of their manabase?
Some burn decks have 4 copies of Destructive Revelry in their sideboard.
I got to play around with Alesha at the prerelease and I fell in love with her. So now I want to play her in constructed. I feel like recurring landdestruction would be a cool thing to do. I saw LtGlitter had a list a couple pages back with her in it; has anyone done any further thinking or even testing on the card? Is it a viable strategy in a w/r Death and Taxes shell? Otherwise I might go mono-White Death and Taxes for my next Modern build.
I'm going to be switching back over to RW with this list:
I've made a new spread sheet to keep track of how things go and I'll post the link once I get some games played. My plan is to swap out the aether vials, SSG, and Ash Zealots for Tunnel Ignus and Lightning bolt depending on what the new meta looks like to see what works best. the new spread sheet should show when I make changes to the deck pretty clearly. I'm thinking it might be fine to go to 2 riders and 3 angels but I need to see how good Alesha is at getting creatures back first before I go to 2.
This version is heavy on the RW Humans and beeween Ash Zealot, Thalia and Alesha I have 9 first strikers to use the stronghold on which should do some work as it was already an all-star on normal guys.
So you're playing Flickerwisp, Resto and Alesha, and yet you've omitted Blade Splicer? That interaction is just too good to pass up on.
I really liked playing Pod since I skipped to this deck after playing GW Hatebears and Death & Taxes (Modern version) for a while.
I preferred the Melira Pod version, since it challenged my own play style most; solving that whole sequencing puzzle was a lot of fun.
With Pod decks gone I imagine there ought to be some more creature decks able to pop up, so here's hoping for everyone's MTG collection most of these cards will find a new home, preferably in a single deck. I'll be heading back to my hateful shenanigans and watch how the new metagame takes shape from there before jumping to something else.
If they ban TC and leave Pod as it is , even if they unban BBE or/and AV, Pod is gonna be the most played deck. Already has 2/3 major events and we will see that in the PT that most pros will surely pick Pod as a safe choice. Thats why i think/wish they wont ban cards this time, they will only unban cards.
It doesnt make sense to ban anything right now and it likely won't happen. 4 months from now I can see TC and Pod getting the axe if the format stagnates but as of this moment banning cards is a double negative. I've been wrong a lot before, though, just not usually on my ban predictions. Take that with a grain of salt.
With this ban affecting the Modern Pro Tour that's coming up soon, there's actually a very good reason to (un)ban cards; to shake up the format, if only a little, or prevent it from being too dominated by just a few type of decks.
Is there a special time tomorrow when the bannings will be announced or is it sometime on monday?
