Deck is second tier now, though I can't exactly predict why, maybe too many kozilek's returns running around the format, and decks ramping quickly ?

Im not an expert deck builder, and I love Andrew Boswell to death, but with Coco around I think Thalia needs to be somewhere in the main deck until proven otherwise, the fact that Ali Antrazi came in second literally playing every land tapped should just not happen in a world with Thalia around, plus she slows collected company down just enough to get a Gideon down under a spell queller, and then they are playing from behind. I also think you want to have access to ishkanah somehow, this deck is secretly one of the best at enabling delirium without really trying.

The problem is the deck is crammed and theres no way to really tweak it, lets say I want to add these 4 cards

    2 x Thalia
    2 x Ishkanah

What are you taking out, the Hangerbacks might be the worst card in the deck now with coco but being able to sac them to Avacyn without costing mana is a huge deal, and they are all stars against the black control decks, The dromoka's command's feel almost untouchable, and the Oath of Nissa is pretty much needed to maintain the manabase (a problem in seemingly every g/w deck for some reason). Gideon is a must 4 of and one of the best cards in the deck, Avacyn is one of the best cards in standard, and Nissa is important to the curve for the deck. You cut the Advocates and your best weapon against white weenie decks is shut down.

I don't know heres what I would try to fit INTO the deck if I could somehow, if anyone has suggestions on the cuts let me know

3 thalia's, 1 Decimator of Province in the sideboard somewhere, and Stasis Snare x 4 somewhere in the 75; Emrakul is a real threat for this deck, and so is Brisela.

Is it time for g/w to run its own gisela/brisela package ?

I dont think the deck is done, I think it needs to adapt

Standard and draft haven't fired in months, this set seemingly killed magic in my area. I haven't done a paper draft since November , and sometime in December the FNM switched to EDH.

Ive also had 4 people I know sell out if standard and say they're never coming back.

I don't know what magic was like for Kamigawa but I'd imagine it felt a lot like what this set has done to magic in my area.

It really feels like they are trying to make green a control color and they didn't know how. Aurora at 9, this at 7, there's an ok control deck if Aurora is 6 or 7 and this is at 5.

hey guys whats up, I just started playing modern about 2 months ago because my LGS finally got one going around and have been looking for a deck to play for awhile now, I've tried every single combination of decks Zoo, Grixis, Abzan company; and when I saw this deck list pop up at the GP i knew it was the one. I play Death and Taxes in legacy and was thinking about running a g/w hatebears type of deck but heard it wasn't very competitive. With that in mind I know the general gameplan of most death and taxes decks, and just had a few questions about what you guys have experienced. Mainly why the deck doesn't look the same as the D + T deck in legacy

Here are the cards I'm talking about mainly
    Brimaz, King of Oreskos
    Batterskull
    Any of the swords
    Spirit of the Labyrinth

Just wanted to know why they don't fit in, I can kind of rationalize some of them, but thought maybe someone had done more testing could chime in and help me understand; Brimaz being the main one, He seem's perfect for the deck, dodges Lightning Bolt, doesn't die to pyroclasm effects, can be vialed in and he is protected by Eiganjo.

The deck obviously needs certain pieces, and I know that leonin arbiter is a huge part of the decks plan with the way the modern lands work, but is 4 necessary? It seems like whenever I draw him, if I don't draw hate lands at the right time they just get so much mana that he becomes useless and his 2/2 body really isn't doing anything, I also agree with the Aven Mindcensor argument that it seems like a 3 mana 2/1 most of the time, and might be worth looking for alternatives, I just wanted to see what some of you had to say about the deck and why some pieces aren't necessarily in there.

Headminerve gets it, the cards you want to be looking at are Deathmist raptor, the New Surrak, Hidden Dragon slayer/Den protector, 4x dromokas command

Im not at home right now but the deck I built had something like

    4 x Fleeceman Lion
    4 x Deathmist Raptor
3 x Surrak Caller of the Hunt
4 x Hidden Dragon Slayer (lifegain and the ability to kill other big threats helps against burn and swinging)
2 x Warden of the First Tree
    4 x Dromokas Command
    4 x Collected Company
    2 x Spirit of Anafenza
    4 x Valorous Stance
2 x Ajani mentor of heroes
    3 x Banishing Light

I think the numbers can be tinkered with, and I think Den protector could be a good addition, Collected, and Dromokas Command should be in every g/w deck

I think it's time to give up on Temur for this standard season and start looking at spoilers, I see alot of cards that tax the mana, but there are already cards that I can see myself trying

Cards I think need a serious look for this deck
Thunderbreak Regent (4/4 and burn you if you kill it, I'll take 4)

Atarkas command - ramp and burn, burn and grow your creatures, prevent lifegain from a whip? For a deck that wants to hit 4 mana to get knuckle hasted on turn 3.

Dragon Whisperer - early drop with late game implications that can also gain evasion, I don't imagine Temur having a problem getting to formidable.

Deathmist raptor - 3/3 death toucher for 3 that you can bring back with a morphed Rattleclaw.

Collected Company - post wrath I'll put knuckleblade and dragon whisperer on the field, swing 7.

Sarkhan - really, do I need to say more? If you've read the card you know how good it is in this deck.

Finally - Dragon roar, 2 mana lighting strike that hits their face and kills a creature if you have a dragon in your hand or in play. If your running Stormbreath and Thunderbreak and Sarkhan this should work a majority of the time.

Lol I just thought of something, the green white command has to have exile all cards in all graveyards or I will consider it a flavor fail. Since she literally gave the command to abandon the honoring of the dead (the graveyard)

I'm not going to say other decks can't beat abzan, what I'm saying is can they do it consistently? Every other deck has a glaring weakness, but what is Abzan's ? You can give me your statistics at your meta but the results that get posted show Abzan coming through Repeatedly against the field.

Abzan is so much stronger than almost any other deck you can think of it's not funny. At least one that is competitive. I actually stopped playing it at my FNM because it sucked out the joy of playing, as I'm already one of the better players at my FNM and playing abzan just made it unfair. The problem is there isn't a single deck that has a creature at every level of the curve that's as deadly as what abzan can bring, all while being to answer every threat that enters the battlefield.

I find it borderline Comical that people think the format is diverse right now. There are 2 decks you can play right now if you want to win, Abzan or R/W. Every other deck will woefully under perform for you when faced against the siege rhinos. I should know I've tried tons of decks and none really compare.

Wizards has put the deck in a weird place, the deck wants answers to a resolved hornet queen, the best one in these colors is anger of the gods. The one that also kills almost all of our creatures, including Shaman of the great hunt, Yasova , and Boon Satyr.

A card that I love in the deck is Arcbond, against things like token strategies it allows us to control how much damage each takes and can also deal large amounts of damage to finsh the game if needed ( example running your rattleclaw into a polukranos or hornet queen token)

I really don't understand lightning strike over wild slash in the main. Wild slash is just a much better card for us, mainly because a resolved rabble master is enemy #1 and being able to play a rattleclaw mystic turn 3 with an answer held up is pretty nice, and the added protection against u/w heroic decks is much more important than dealing with a fleecemane lion or a mantis rider, we get bigger than fleecemane, and mantis rider has fallen out of favor recently.

I don't have an updated list but I don't see how you exclude stubborn denial from any list, the creatures in our deck hit harder and faster than most , so normally the outs that they have are killing our creatures, with Crux of Fate End hostilities and Duneblast around I would expect a 1 mana counter spell will just get better.

I'll test temur more over the next week or so and get back with an updated list.

The cards I think need to be in the mix are whisperwood Elemental, Savage Knuckleblade, Shaman of the great hunt and Stormbreath, I just dont know the numbers atm.

The fact that I will be getting a white / green dragon might have made my day (green white is an all color right? Now I might've over thought this). I can only imagine the things he could do, don't dissappoint me wizards!

I feel like scg knows that there are a group of magic players that want temur to be good, and that no one can really build it to make it good, even kibler, i mean look at the showing hoogland put up on camera this weekend, it was pretty bad. Hence why they put it behind premium.

Would any of you be interested in testing some builds of this deck online sometime, obv I cant afford it all on MTGO but I would love to test on other programs somewhere, I have plenty of time just no one to test against. Would love to find a build that has range against Mardu, Abzan, and Blue White control out of the side.
