sooo, just before I make my comment, I need to ask... if you had 10 swamps, and your opponent only has 5 cards in hand, they lose because they can't discard the required number? man, that suuuuuuucks if it's the case.
Now, my opinion. Depends how you're playing. Are you playing against friends who just enjoy casual play? Because after a while, being sludged would become annoying. Mix it up a bit. Keep them on their toes, sometimes in, sometimes out maybe. But if it's competition, I'm all for winning. Just where and when I play, it's a group game, and a dominant deck is always ganged up on if it's seen as unfair.
from what I've heard, and it broke my heart because I love playing green, it is the colour that basically won't win you anything. I don't think fliers would "break" Magic... but having one or two would make me happy (especially since I'm hesitant to attack unless I'm sure of hitting) instead of having something that can only block as though it has flying.
I often play with my bf and his brothers and their gfs at the cottage in the summer, group games. They go on for ages, at least 2 hours a game, so sometimes it's ok to lose.
Luckily my biggest mistake was in a friendly match, but I made the mistake of holding onto a sorcery thinking that I was going to use it to save myself... but learned when I went to play it that I can't play a sorcery on my opponent's turn
My first deck my boyfriend bought me. It was the Mirrodin pre-construct... blue white I think. The one with the Skullclamp, and lots of affinity to artifact things. I can't even remember the first deck I put together myself, but undoubtedly it sucked. I still can't make good decks, I let my bf do it.

so, if my creature hurts you, you put a card out of play. But aren't you still the controller of that card? Or do *I* become the controller because I made you remove it? Or do I become the controller because it was my creature that hurt you? help! I'm more confused

Oh Hodoku... that's not a Princess Cut. A Princess Cut is square. That is more than likely a Brilliant cut, the most common cut, although Princess cuts are very popular right now.
Congratulations though. I'm sure she'll be thrilled whether it has spikes that jab her all day or not. It's very thoughtful and sweet.
But, I MUST see this ring once it's made... then talk to Xander... j/k

I really like Guay's work. I agree that it's distinctive in a good way. But I enjoy the softness of it (it's a nice contrast to the rats and dying things, etc found on many cards) I think her drawings are pretty. n.n

I guess I don't see how giving green some flyers would change the game as a whole though =\ it's just a couple! I mean, EVERYONE else is doing it...
