    Trade 1

    Pile A = Underground Sea REV SP

    Pile B = Judge Karakas + $25

    This second one is just a purchase but what I am looking to find out is if Tabernacle is a good card to invest in if I am getting it at a good amount cheaper than they normally go for at this condition.

    Trade 2

    Pila A = Mint Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale

    Pile B = $570

    I really like this card. Unless you are playing a deck with a low creature count like U/W control or something along those lines it is almost never a dead card. Seems pretty likely that there is a cycle as well. The idea the Crux of Fate seems to be a destiny choice type of thing that allow you to decide between options that affect the outcome of the future in one of the 2 ways we know: dragons live or dragons die or some variation of that. I think it would be possible to see a card like an Overmaster or Quicken type effect as well that allows you, when you play a spell with multiple choices, to choose both or all choices. Something like this:

    Ugin's Whispers
    3 Colorless
    Instant
    The next time you would play a spell that allows you to choose from multiple options you may instead choose any number of those options.

    or something along those lines.

    Or perhaps a camel/automaton/samurai...? But yeah, this card is cute, thats all just like most hydras. I have always thought Genesis Hydra was promising and I don't see this taking its place in any decks where it would be considered. Any point at which this could be massive, Genesis Hydra can get you 2 *sizable* permanents with a semi-choice as to the second, can fuel devotion with both and this just gets you 1/1's which at a late point in the game won't do much for attacking or devotion. Sure it can be a 5/5 for 5 but then you have Arbor Colossus which is a better 5 drop that can get bigger and provide removal as well in the same type decks.

    Someone is interested in my foil FUT Tarmogoyf and I want to make them an offer but I figured I would check and see how fair you think it is:

    Pile A (I give)
    ===================================
    Tarmogoyf Foil Future Sight = $700

    Pile B (I get)
    ===================================
    Volcanic Island = $261
    Underground Sea = $306
    Tarmogoyf = $195

    There side comes to $62 over the price of the Tarmogoyf though I feel that is ok due to trading down a $700 for 3 lesser cards. (It feels weird to call a Tarmogoyf, Underground Sea, and a Volcanic Island lesser.)

    Let me know what you think

    You really would have to see it in person, man do I hate expensive cameras/scanners that just simply "take pictures", if you know what i mean. I could do better with a disposable than my brother's 600$ camera.

    Well, like I said it can be hard to tell from scans. I actually have a foil Maze Sentinel from Dragon's Maze and it has a similar darkness but when put side to side it is not near as dark as this. That is how I showed to one of my family members along with a few other foil white cards and they noticed the difference pretty quickly for a non magic player. They said the color looks different and I asked what they thought was different about the few cards and they said "what do you mean different? The boarder? The gold?" I found that kinda funny.

    It has a really orange finish to it and is much darker than any other white foils I have. Being that I hadn't at the time I purchased it had any Zendikar block white foils in my collection I thought it was block/set specific thing and then a few people pointed it out at an event and I researched it and compared it to other foils. Though it is harder to see in the scans due to the scanner light, in person it is much more noticeable.

    Edit: Actually, I showed it to a non-magic playing family member side by side with some random new boarder white foils and they described it as "gold" which is actually a better description.

    So what does everyone think of this trade/sale:

    Pile A (Me)
    ===============================
    Foil Stoneforge Mystic NM Dark Print Error

    Pile B
    ===============================
    2x Arid Mesa NM
    $140

    Is a $140 to much to ask? I figure I am trading down so that is why I am asking so much. Let me know, thanks!

  • posted a message on How do I install non-beta version of MTGO?
    Ok, I know this is an old thread and I don't want to get penalized for posting in it due to that but I am in dire need of a way to get back on an older version of mtgo. Using the current version MTGO is like taking a vacation in Phyrexia: The distant sounds of tortured souls not quite drowned out by the bone and sinew laden machines gears and parts grinding and crunching while suffering the unbearable heat from exhaust vents spewing a gut wrenching smell of awfulness laid over the terrain like a warm blanket. I know, I know, some may say it is crazy for me to desribe it like that... Ya know, so held back and all... But I would rather keep this civil.

    Now, I tried the link above and it did not work and I almost gave up my search for a link and then I was looking through the You Tube videos page for Star City Games Premium Archives video of a Vintage Masters Draft and the person doing said draft was using an older client. At first I thought well it is just an older video and then, well, ya know... Vintage Masters... 1+1=3... Anyway, seeing him do so was like being stranded in the desert for days without water and then finding some and when you finally claw your way to it Roadrunner comes up, meeps twice, drinks it, and then meeps once more (because twice again would just be evil) and zooms aways leaving you with a mini sand storm for a few seconds.

    In other words... help? Anyone got a link? Please?

    Now, as I stated in my last post to the Trade Evaluation topic I am not the best at knowing how to use the trade down tax. I do understand though what you mean when you say they are expensive for a reason. The one on ebay is the only one NM for that price and all the others have already sold and the ones on TCG Player are around that price for SP though these are purchasing prices not trading. I am pretty sure I have only seen one other person with one of these let alone two so in regards to trade, these do not come along often. With that being said, would you feel that asking for the above plus a Wasteland would be appropriate?

    Whenever I start to move towards the whole trade down thing I always fear coming off as someone who is trying to rip someone off simply because I haven't traded enough massive cards in my my return to Magic to know what is warranted and what is not, especialy since the game has changed so much (I was much more part of the constructed aspect of the game back when you could send in the Memory Jar you opened for a free booster, when duals were 20$ and Moxen were the price of duals now.)

    What do you think of this trade (TcgPlayer Mids):

    Pile A
    ======================
    1x Foil Future Sight Tarmogoyf NM - $700.00

    Total - $700.00

    Pile B
    ======================
    1x Volcanic Island NM - $268.00
    2x Tropical Island NM - $211.00

    Total - $690.00

    I don't even know if trading down applies here as even though it is one valuable card for 3 cards equal to that value, being that it is a foil and not something like Tabernacle (I say that due to their similar values) where its sheer value comes from it being what it is not some special version of a cheaper card and the other side has duals. This being said, the Foil Future Sight Tarmogoys have really been taking off lately. I got them both combined for $750 about 2 months ago and now they are EACH worth $700 and are pretty hard to find. Also, in regards to cards that others have shown interest in, I have never received as many offers/requests for a card than I have for them. Not even close. With that to think about, brainstorm!

    Ok, thanks for that. I just stepped away when it disappeared and wasn't sure what happened in that time.
