So earlier this year (February to be precise), there was for all intents and purposes, a cluster**** of BTR threads. Here is a back and forth between some people in the thread making note of this.
This is why some of us packed up and left. Until things are fixed we are not going to risk our items and rep to this.
I can Semi understand Rax not being 100% there due to Admin of site status....sorta.
BUT Where the hell has irebel been doing?
Its funny that the control on MS was noticable lost when Jabberwocky left. Man did alot... more like too much of his time was used up there.
If the plan is to let the section burn and die Might as well as just tell us and not BS us.
No, that is not the plan.
I'm addressing this myself at the moment and I'm trying to get it rectified as soon as humanly possible. Market Street is obviously a very important part of this site and I apologize for it going to ☺☺☺☺ in the past couple weeks, but the good news is that it's only a temporary screw-up on our part and come hell or high water we'll make it right.
So in the currently existing threads within the BTR forum, the last interacted of these is around 15 days old, unresolved, the last moderator interaction with it being 20 days ago (I'll come back to this). According to the thread, and user info, thegrinningdemon, one of the parties involved in said trade, is banned. However, there is no explanation as to why he was banned in the official banned users thread (or my search is not functioning). If it is due to something involved with this trade, it is not noted in the BTR thread. If it is resolved, the thread has not been moved, nor the resolution mentioned. On the subject of the new mods, within the BTR forum, not a single post from the two new "temp" mods, GI Joe and Yomako exist. Additionally, the following interaction between one Annorax and another MaZaHaKa occurred...
Things to know:
1.I send internationally.
2.Accept only Paypal 3.You send money first. I am a judge, so I have no interest in cheating or stealing. Trust your judge
4. All cards are NM.
5.If you buy at least 2 cards any bargain is honored.
6.I send cards from Lithuania, so it might take some time if you live in the USA. If you have any questions please ask me.
7. The shipping price is 2$ internationally(5$ personal trackable)
P.S. If you want something, but think that the price is to high- write me.
I can take the Morphling if you send first. I am an admin so I have no interest in cheating or stealing. Trust your admin
First of all, I find this highly inappropriate. Leveraging your position of authority as attempt at personal gain is an abuse of that authority, jokingly or not. In fact, another user has brought to my attention that Annorax himself has called other mods on the carpet for this type of behavior, but displays it here himself, jokingly or not. I am attempting to locate these instances. Secondly...
I can take the foil Mirran Crusader, the Misstep, the Batterskull for $15, and possibly the non-4th Geddons depending on what set they are (doesn't exist in Antiquities). LMK.
If you compare this post date with the times of the BTR threads currently still open, you will notice that Annorax, who is apparently the only mod currently doing anything at all about the BTR threads, has more time to trade than to ensure the safety of users investments by rectifying the remaining BTR threads, and/or moving "resolved" threads to their appropriate forum (though there is only a minority of BTR threads which are in this state), as per his job as one of the moderators of Market Street. Yes, IRL things happen, but what of Yomaka and GI Joe then? All three of the mods for Market street are failing to do their job simultaneously? Possible? Yes. Likely? No. Not to mention, two former mods who were supposedly working on Market Street are no longer active there, making a grand total of 5 different mods throughout the "downfall" of Market Street not doing their jobs. It's my belief that this sort of incompetence is unacceptable, and frankly, alarming (who is choosing these staff members, if they aren't doing their jobs?), that other people's investments are being put into the hands of incompetent mods.
So, I've had the permissions for a couple days but hasn't been posted here and I haven't been PMed about it, but am I also now a moderator or was there some rogue permissions grantor who just saught to give me moderator permissions?
Haven't you heard about the moderator lottery we have once a month? And guess what, you won! Next month it's someone else's turn to be lucky, stay tuned everyone!
But seriously, congratulations
Seeing this sort of interaction, even jokingly, does not help to ease my doubts.
So, was the lip service we were paid about Market Street back in February serious, or in jest? What is happening during the mod selection process that allows people to be chosen, and then skate off without doing their job?
I can't be the only one here that browses around primarily on their phone. Navigating/quoting others can be quite difficult on my phone, and it can get quite frustrating shrinking and expanding every page just so I can read it.
Several other other forums I venture to have tapatalk which makes it much much easier to browse on my phone. I'm not sure how difficult it is to implement, but it might be worth considering.
(not sure if this should go in tech support or here, feel free to move it there)
To my knowledge Hannes is
looking into making the site more mobile friendly
. Pretty sure something similar to that was said but I can't recall where.
I find it a little interesting that Corrosive Moldslime wasn't pegged as a nearly strictly better Acidic Slime, and yet Nauseating Atrocity was pegged as an overpowered Damnation... Hmm...
Admittedly I was pushing it a little bit after the last round, but it felt worse than other 6cc black mass removal at 4BB.
EDIT: I missed someone else attaching Circle, but here is the entire set of images.

Questions: Do we have to assume that the cards are already in play? Do we have to "destroy" them, or can they be removed temporarily? Do they all have to be removed, or does just one have to be removed? Does the mana cost determine the challenge requirements, or can additional costs be used, such as Kicker?

Hearthgrove Guard-Captain2GW
Creature - Kithkin Soldier (R)
Whenever a creature enters the battlefield under your control, if that creature has a converted mana cost of 3 or less, put two +1/+1 counters on it. It takes a special kind of person to rally the Kithkin of Hearthgrove against the beats of Jhunke. He is one such person. 2/2
Hearthgrove Outpost
Land (R)
:symtap:: Add GW to your mana pool. Each opponent gains 2 life.
:symtap:: Target creature with converted mana cost 3 or less is unblockable this turn. Hundreds of tunnels extend into Jhunke from beneath Hearthgrove Outpost, one of the few safe havens within the forest.
Interesting... You have a very similar Sigil Captain as your guardian. No problem drawing ideas from pre-existing cards, and this definitely seems plausible, if it weren't for the fact that it was only rare. This definitely seems mythic worthy to me. Your land also seems pretty mythic, especially since it not only adds two mana without a severe drawback, but it also bleeds blue into it, as it makes your creatures unblockable. A way around this would've been to give target creature super-trample ("You may have target creature deal its combat damage as though it weren't blocked"). Those things being said, I think they feel incredibly in-tune with your planeswalker. Unfortunately, I like your cards your cards seem overpowered for their rarity, even though I would definitely like them at mythic.
Plansewalker:
Ithil of Life and Death 2GB
Planeswalker - Ithil M
+1: Each opponent discards a card

Interesting; I see you took a similar route as me with your land. However, I think the synergy between the two could've been better. Simply putting a +1/+1 counter on your guy for landfall? Meh. Not to mention at CMC 5, I feel there are better things that could occupy the slot. The land itself is also a weird Flagstones of Trokair. All in-all, I don't see a lot of originality, nor a great deal of synergy with eachother, nor great resemblance to your planeswalker. If you'd like to elaborate please do, because I think you started the contest out very strong, but now are waning a bit :/. Also don't take any of this offensively, these are my opinions and could be wrong.

Most interesting. I very much like your land, though I think it's power level is possibly a bit above its rarity. The fact that you essentially lose a land by using it for what it was meant to do is a little hard to gauge, but it is also a colorless source, getting around protections. Your second card I feel is almost definitely deserving of the Futureshifted frame. I also think it is overcosted. Imagine the two cards together if you will; the earliest you could activate this combo using no mana accelerators is turn six, and after you do, you are left with only two untapped lands. For the amount of time and effort this takes to assemble, you could easily drop the creature's cost to R, I feel. Even then, I'm not sure it's playable. I do like the idea though. You also didn't post your previous rounds, making it difficult to evaluate their similarities. As for your challenge itself, your location was a jungle. Jungles have rivers, soooo, fine by me.
Lumber Mill
Land (R)
:symtap:: add to your mana pool. Lumber Mill deals 1 damage to you.
:symtap:, sacrifice a Forest: add to your mana pool. Use this mana only to play creature spells.
Lumber Harvester
Artifact Creature - Golem (R)
When Lumber Harvester enters the battlefield, you may return a Forest card from your graveyard to play tapped. If you do, put two +1/+1 counters on Lumber Harvester.
2/2 To the treefolk, the harvesters were abominations; to the harvesters, the treefolk were wood.
Interesting. I like the first card, though why creature spells specifically is a bit hard to discern. Jungle location makes sense nonetheless. The synergy between the two cards is very well done (and obvious), but not overpowered in the least bit, I feel. 3 for a 2/2 is bad. 3 for a 4/4, is good. Green already has things like Harrow, so I could see this being printed alongside similar cards. Well done.
Tawyn, the Phantasmal Shaper1UU
Planeswalker - Tawyn (M)
+1: Put a 0/1 blue Illusion creature token with flying onto the battlefield.
-2: For each creature token you control, put a token that’s a copy of that creature onto the battlefield.
-6: Each other permanent you control becomes a copy of target permanent until end of turn. They’re still their original card type.

Illusory ApparitionWU
Creature - Illusion Spirit (C)
If damage would be dealt to a creature you control, you may redirect the damage among any number of creatures you control named Illusory Apparition instead. In a world of lies and untruths, where fantasy is indistinguishable from reality, nothing is ever as it seems.

Jungled Bastion enters the battlefield tapped.
:symtap:: Add G to your mana pool. If that mana is spent on a white spell, you gain 1 life. If that mana is spent on a blue spell, draw a card, then discard a card.
Order of the UnrealGWU
Creature - Rhino Monk Illusion (R)
If you would gain life, draw that many cards instead.
If Order of the Unreal would deal combat damage to a player, draw that many cards instead. They appear like a dream, but their stoicism is grounded in reality.
2/3
Interesting... The creature of these two seems very mythic to me. The land is just really good. The synergy isn't readily apparent, but after Order is on the battlefield, it basically transforms all your white spells into cantrips. When it's spent on a blue spell though... nothing happens? I'm a little confused as to why the land adds only green, and not white (the center color of the Bant shard). Minus the land though, I love the flavor of the cards you have submitted thus far. Out of your team, I think I enjoy that the most.
CXA26483 - The land is a cool concept, although it turned out a bit on the weak side. The forced sacrifice can be really cramping if you're short on mana - maybe if it just removed the counters and popped itself to Blaze (subject to an activation cost) or worked as a storage-type land, it would be much more elegant. Master Firemage is nice, although it feels like Kicker would have been appropriate here.
TOP 3
1 - Jimmy Groove

3 - CXA26483 (what's up with that name anyway?)
Yes, I admit the land might be on the weak side, but I was admittedly afraid of creating a better Mountain, hence, the self damage, and the ETBT clause.
My name? I don't think anyone has actually asked me that here before. I kind of like that no one knows, but I'm sure this post will eventually be lost to the annals of history.
It's actually from the game Armored Core 2 for Playstation 2. It's my favorite series of games (series being the key word). Anyways, in the game, you register as a Raven, who pilots AC's (basically, a giant robot pilot in layman's terms). Each pilot is given an ID number, and in this game, it happened to be CXA26483. It's a very obscure piece of knowledge that even some of the more die-hard fans don't acknowledge or know about.

Master Firemage XRRR
Creature - Human Wizard (M)
When Master Firemage enters the battlefield, search your library for an instant or sorcery card with converted mana cost equal to X and cast it without paying its mana cost.
“One day, you’ll be as good as me, if you live.”
What do you mean “hope these are up to par?” These are nice. Avalanche Peaks actually seems relatively weak to me, I think you probably could have left off either the enters the battlefield tapped or the effect damaging yourself. A “may” clause on the sacrifice would also have worked. Master Firemage is great. It breaks Hypergenesis (maybe? I know cascade worked), but more importantly finds removal and other nice effects when you need them. I'd be happy to crack a booster pack and open this up. Excellent synergy between your two cards.
Drumroll......
1. CXA26483
2. Jimmy Groove
3. Maokun
Honorable Mention: Rimeshade. Deciding who got third was extremely difficult, but your land was just too rediculous in the end for me to give it to you.
As I said, I was very afraid of making a nearly strictly better mountain, so I watered it down. Making balanced cards is something I've been doing for some time. Making a balanced land though, not easy to do, especially at mythic rare, since you probably only see 10 nonbasics in a set, if that, and rarely are they mythic (only 1 mythic land IIRC, from Worldwake).
In any case, I was also aware Master Firemage could be used to abuse the 0 CMC suspend spells, but with the cost of RRR, I think they are pretty well hindered. From what I know about legacy, you could be dead or nearly so by the time you even cast it.
I'll have my critiques and top 3 tomorrow; my hours have been increased at work (thank god; I need the $$$), so I haven't had a lot of time to do anything in-between some of my new self-dedicated things. Hopefully that's acceptable.
A little more than three months later... That was on 6/12/2011. Today is 7/9/2011, just about 4 weeks later. Lets see how they're doing...
