She seems very good with Ezuri and Vorel

This; she is a house in Ezuri (IMO). She combos with his ability being a 1/1 body, evolves with many of the mana dorks you can play (Utopia Tree, Sylvan Caryatid), which is basically what you want to be playing anyways), and is a constant source of card advantage as she will absorb targeted removal (1 for 1), or allow you to ancestral recall+ every turn for free (if Ezuri is out). Oh, and beats in a deck that wants to be aggro. Definitely an auto-include as far as I can tell.

I had an account on the old forums, and merged it with my curse account, however it is saying that the username of that account is already in use. I searched to find posts by that user, and there were no results. Wasn't sure where to go; I'm sure everything has changed since back then, so please forgive me if this is the wrong place to go about this issue.

    It's CXA26483.

As someone who has had good intentions for the site in the past and voiced them here loudly...

I joined the gutter quite some time ago, and feeling that they were mostly elitists/trolls about their little secret club on the forums, in turn trolled them myself which earned me a gutter-ban. After this, I recall another member bringing this aspect into the MTGS site main, and causing the drama which I had avoided by keeping what's in the gutter, in the gutter, and at the time, proving my point.

But as I continued to try and contribute the little bit that I did, I found that not everything was beer and skittles, and certain interactions between the staff and userbase were not in-tune with what I'd like to see happen, and I voiced my opinion. And I voiced my opinion some more. And some more. And there was a point where I realized that I found myself agreeing with many of the people in the gutter (though I tried to voice this discontent in a little more appealing manner, I feel).

So first, to anyone who remembers the hi-res trollface I posted, I apologize. I was wrong.

Second, I don't foresee myself returning to MTGS any time in the near or distant future, though, not even I can predict what will happen tomorrow. I attempted to contribute something of value to the site, and besides the fact that I haven't even played Magic in a little over a month, if I did want to come back to discussing play techniques, and little quips/funny stories, or even help new players, I don't feel like I can do that here knowing what's going on now is just a worse version of what was going on when I silently went on a hiatus.

Don't get me wrong; I'm not trying to paint myself as someone of worth. I'm just trying to apologize to the gutterites for some way-back stuff I pulled, and say that from everything I've read in the first few pages where the issue at hand is still very clear, they did the right thing and if it counts for anything, I'm on their side.

To Azrael, you seem to still be one of the finest staff members this site has. Keep doing what you're doing.

To Pichoro and Memnarch, I'm glad I was able to contribute at length to the software forums, and later to the art forums. Knowing I was part of something greater with you two heading some projects like the MSE frames, or MWS files, kept me interested in pursuing and bettering my skills in Photoshop and other software.

To Yukora, as someone who appears closely tied to the admin team, while I admit only reading about half of this current issue, and never really interacting much with you from what I remember, you appear to be one of the more stand up people at the higher staff echelons, and I hope that you are able to rectify the problems that seem to be coming from the rest of the staff and causing the unrest which was all but here it seems when I broke from MTGS.

To everyone else, I guess I'll see you around.

Im starting to notice a trend in former moderators thoughts on this subject contrasting to the moderation that occurs now... Hmm...

On the topic though, I used to do just what said user was warned for on another (much more major) game related forum. By this I mean, during that time the forum was so clogged with duplicate threads, every one I saw I would link to the related topic that was already far along via posting. This continued for about a month. I was never warned or anything. In fact due to that site probably getting double the traffic MTGS does, the mods there were probably thankful. Which brings me to my point; some of the things that users do and are infracted or warned for reduces moderator workload. Case in point, this thread. A better system would be to allow this sort of thing to happen, and then infractions users who continue discussion after a user has pointed another one in the correct direction, or repeat the same answer 5 different times (one of the things I personally hate about the rulings forum). This allows self-policing of users, leaving you to take care of more important matters like making sure that BTRs don't get out of hand for a third time.

Thinking about it, some users here probably don't get enough credit where they deserve it. And of course the obvious, this system could be implemented for other things around the site as well. Im just speaking generally since replying from my phone makes it difficult to make more elaborate posts.

No. If I recall correctly, it's been brought up in the Mod Cave. It can't be altered or the risks/amount of work involved just isn't worth the slight benefit.
You are missing my point entirely.

If we can edit a bunch of nifty features for the site into the framework, surely someone could edit some static text for the report button, which has apparently misled some people. Why that hasn't happened is pretty odd.

What you're quoting is embedded in the vB framework and not something put there by the staff. I don't even think the staff can change it.
Yet we have enough changes made to the vB framework to not warrant switching to a better and more recent platform with more functionality? (cough Joomla cough)

If all of those changes preventing a migration to a better web-ware exist, surely changing some text can be accomplished.

I think, as you said, having a cycle would really push 4-5 color decks. This is why I summed it all into one. I agree the land I made would probably be to powerful, but here's the biggest knock against mine I think you missed. Without fetchlands, you can't activate them on your opponents turn. So consider that too.
    True...

    What about...

    Artesian Well
    Land - Plains Island
(T: Add W or U to your mana pool.)
As ~ enters the battlefield, you may have it enter the battlefield tapped. If you don't, tap it at the beginning of your next end step. It doesn't untap during your next untap step.

Fetchable, and allows either turn one or turn two color fixing.

On the other hand, we could always change your bounce land to say "As CARDNAME enters the battlefield, you may have it enter the battlefield tapped. If you don’t, return another land you control to its owner’s hand." That way it's still playable past turn one as a Coastal Tower or whatever.

    Heart of Zendikar
    Land
Landfall - If you had a land enter the battelfield under your control this turn, Heart of Zendikar gains, "T: Add one mana of any color to your mana pool," until end of turn.

Now, how's about that for first turn no drawbacks for any color of mana? It may be too powerful, but it deserves some testing.
I tend to think that's too powerful, but heading in that direction, splitting it into a cycle and making it un-Zendikar-y, we end up with...

    Squalling Plains
    Land
T: Add 1 to your mana pool.
T: Add W or U to your mana pool. Activate this ability only if a land entered the battlefield under your control this turn.

So lets look at how this plays exactly...
    • First turn it allows access to both colors.
    • Early game it color fixes while you are color fixing (playing land).
    • Mid-Late game it's drawback could either be brutal (you lose a colored mana if you stop playing mana) or negligible (if you already have the mana you need).
    • It doesn't have a keyword/pseudo ability, making it accessible to core sets.
    • It plays intuitively ("Oh, I played a land this turn."), presenting little to no memory issues.
    • It is cyclable (meaning, each of the two-color combos could be created in this vein).

Basically the only thing this doesn't do is get searched up by fetches, and I think that's a pretty easy price to pay for the power something like this would have.

What I would be worried about is since this would come in a cycle, people playing 5 color decks, with the only drawback being you basically have to play a land every turn... Not sure what I think about that.

Alright, call me a scrub, but I honestly see Hovermyr as a reasonable answer to hawks, at least in a Tempered Steel or U/B Tez deck. Hovermyr vs. unequipped Hawk? Hovermyr wins. If both equipped? Hovermyr wins, because it laughs off a Hawk even if it isn't protected via War and Peace with the additional rear end. If Hawk equipped? It can chump block, or in Tez, be a 5/5 that doesn't give a **** anyways. If they Gideon it while it's equipped? W/e, you just killed your own Gideon, and I still have a blocker.

The only disadvantage is that it doesn't thin your deck, and you probably won't see more than two a game, maybe one for Tempered Steel. OBV, no one is going to replace Hawk with it, but I do believe it has it's place.

    Am I missing something?

Yes, but the way it's read doesn't assume that the reader is the one being addressed as "you're dumb."

I hate it when I say that then go on to add more. Really takes the gusto out of that statement.

I'm mostly siding with Nai on this one, but anyone who wants to get upset over it probably needs to take a chill-pill. I really don't care, but the rules as is seem to be at best ambiguously against this sort of thing.

    Evading the Censor
Certain words will be automatically censored by the forum software. Do not attempt to get around this by altering the word slightly or inserting an asterisk of your own. Example: If "gris" were a banned word, "gr*s," "gr1s," and "grris" would all be examples of censor evading.

    Flaming and Trolling
Flaming is any sort of malicious verbal attack directed at another person. Racist or sexist comments, profane language (even if censored by the forum software), or other insults directed at another person are not tolerated anywhere on this site, including via private message. Trolling (posting inflammatory content with the intent of provoking a hostile reaction) is included. Using words such as "gay" and "retarded" outside of their proper context is not allowed.
    Those are the relevant rules.

However, I think I recall a mod (don't remember who) saying "If you're going to do it, let the censor do it automatically."

So, **** it. Though I do think it would still be considered trolling.

    My 2 cents. /shrug
