Whenever there are other permanents in play, remove them from the game and add that many charge counters to <this>.
When the last charge counter is removed from <this>, you lose the game.

ok... im back from being away on holiday (i did tell you guys... i think... maybe i forgot) ... and i found something in my email... unfortunately Frown

    Hi zoombinimatt,

We regret to inform you that the server crashed due to a hard disk failure. Unfortunately the hard disk is completely corrupted causing all data to be lost. We have replaced the hard disk with a new one. Your account has been recreated and should be working again. Our sincere apologies for all problems caused.

not good news at all... now... the webhost DID automatically back everything up (so i didnt personally) but that was screwed up too. I can reinstall the forum and all, but I kinda agree with people maybe we should start something else. I probably shouldve backed everything up (and definitely will from now on) so im sorry this happened, especially to lord moo who lost a great story.

BTW even after this i still would like to keep going with R&D, although i might not post all the time due to being in my last year of school.

Gleemaxify {cost} (Whenever a spell or ability targets <this>, you may pay {cost}. If you do, you may remove that spell or ability from the stack and make a copy of it. Until end of turn, you may play that copy for free.)

just a silly new gleemax thing, but it would fit in with the clan theme... kinda

Sorry i havent replied ive been really busy this weekend, but heres the judgings:

    Card One
    Evolutionary Woods
    Land
Evolutionary Woods comes into play tapped.
T: Add G to your mana pool.
T, Sacrifice Evolutionary Woods: Put a token into play that's a copy of target land.
The Selesnya endeavor to preserve the woods, the Simic are more interested in evolving them.

    Card Two
    Selesnya Preservation G
    Instant
Replace "sacrifice" in an activation cost with "tap" until end of turn. (Redundant tap symbols are ignored.)
Whenever you sacrifice a permanent, you may pay 1W/G mana . If you do, return Selesnya Preservation from your graveyard to your hand.
While the Simic believe survival is ensured through evolution, the Selesnya contend survival is ensured through preservation.

    Card One
Originality: 9/10 fairly cool but non-creature tokens have been suggested a number of times so it isnt completely new.
Balance/Playability: 9/10 all good, although abilities like this could combo easily and being a land it would be easy to get in.
Name/Flavor: 7/10 cool but I dont like the flavour too much as it should be a forest and there are almost no woods on rav anyway.
    Round conditions: -0
    Design standards: -0
    Card One Total: 25/30

    Card Two
Originality: 10/10 very cool. I cant think of any card really like this.
Balance/Playability: 6/10 really this could make things like husks/fallen angels very big, especially with shambling shells too.
Name/Flavor: 8/10 With only this card, the reference to evolution would be confusing at best because the simic arent really known for sacrificing things. otherwise its good.
    Round conditions: -0
Design standards: -1 the replacement effect is a little wierd like eledin said.
    Card Two Total: 23/30

    Both Cards:
Mechanic: 2/5 they work well together, but arent an instant infinite combo. With cloudpost it can be great, but otherwise its a waste of the second card.

Flavour: 2/5 I can see how the flavour texts tie in, but when you combine the effects, it doesnt work with the flavour very well.

    Legend and home: Yeah +1

    Team 1's Overall Total: 53/70

Team 2: Tanthalas, Katt, Crimson Avatar

    Card One
    Plane of the Mind
    Land
T: Add 1 to your mana pool.
T, Pay 3 life: At end of turn, return target instant or sorcery card that was put into your graveyard this turn from your graveyard to your hand.
A place where knowlage is everlasting.

    Card Two
    Researching Familiar 2UU
    Creature - Bird
    Flying
U, T: Reveal the top card of your library. If that card is an instant or sorcery card, put it into your hand. Otherwise, put that card into your graveyard.
U, T: Put the top card of your library into your graveyard.
    1/1

    Card One
Originality: 8/10 Cool but not that new.
Balance/Playability: 9/10 Good but not great, the end of turn clause prevents infinite combos.
    Name/Flavor: 8/10 pretty cool
    Round conditions: -0
Design standards: -1 Whatever you might think, Magic cards use correct (or american :p) spelling. although quite alot of people nowadays cant spell so its not too bad but also im not quite sure about the targetting.
    24/30

    Card Two
    Originality: 8/10 nothing really new.
Balance/Playability: 8/10 obviously for a combo, although 4 cost 1/1s generally arent great.
Name/Flavor: 8/10 -1 for no flavour text, and also because milling isnt really blues type of research. (although its probably the closest the bird can manage)
    Round conditions: -0
    Design standards: -0
    Card Two Total: 24/30

    Both Cards
Mechanic: 4/5 looking for instants/sorceries... both fowarding the same cause but they dont really combo with each other.

Flavor: 2/5 how the flavour of these fits together i have no idea, other than that they both try to get you instants/sorceries. I guess it kinda works, but i cant quite get it.

Legend and home: nope so +1

    overall 55/70

    TEAM 1 53/70
    TEAM 2 55/70

    totals:
    TEAM 1 112/140
    TEAM 2 110/140

    team 1 leads by a bit :p

    Izzet Tinkermage 3UR
    Creature - Goblin Wizard
As <this> comes into play, you may pay X. If you do, search your library for two artifact cards whose converted mana costs add up to X and put them into your hand.
UR, Sacrifice an Artifact: Return target creature to its owner's hand and deal 1 damage to that creature's controller.

    Sorcery
Each player sacrifices all but 2 creatures. Then, unless those creatures share a type, their controller sacrifices them.

    sALAD
Flavour 4/5 pretty cool, although white generally isnt solitary at all
    originality 4/5 yeah fairly new
templating 5/5 It couldnt be worded better
balance 1/5 wayyy too good. red can easily get to almost no cards in a burn deck and you have a nice big scary samurai for free...
colour pie/round req 5/5 rgw is for big creatures so it makes sense
    19/25

    Solitary Budoka RGW
    Creature - Human Samurai Monk
    Bushido 2
If Solitary Budoka is the only card in your hand, you may play it any time you could play an instant without paying its mana cost.
If Solitary Budoka is the only creature you control, it gains haste, first strike, and trample.
Enlightenment is his master; no mortal can claim him.
    3/3

    Alacar Leoricar
Flavour 4/5 kinda makes sense... i guess...
originality 4/5 interesting but not too new
templating 4/5 seems right, i think but it should "gain haste"
balance 4/5 might be a bit too good, although some cards like that have been printed.
colour pie/round req 4/5 technically its only 2 colours.
    20/25

    Rabid Wumpus 2GR
    Creature -- Beast
    Cycling RUU
When you cycle Rabid Wumpus, you may discard a card
from your hand. If you do, you may put Rabid Wumpus
into play under your control with haste. Sacrifice it at end of turn.
"My son, if you cannot hear the Wumpus come, then you
must be ready for the worst possible kind."
    4/4

    Getitwrong
    Flavour 4/5 pretty cool really
originality 4/5 kinda new, although its just a fairly standard ninja with some quirks.
templating 3/5 the ninjutsu cost is very confusing... although i think i get it...
balance 3/5 the normal cost is very high for a 2/2 and the ninjutsu is a bit low
colour pie/round req 4/5 whats the white and black for?
    18/25

    Subversive Partners 3WUB
    Creature -- Ninja Rebel
Ninjutsu U, return an attacking, unblocked creature to its owner's hand.
Whenever ~ deals combat damage to a player, you may sacrifice ~. If you do, you control that player's next turn.
No mind can stand against coordinated telepathic invasion.
    2/2

    ZeDorkSlipeur
Flavour 4/5 makes sense but not overly cool
originality 4/5 one is a reweave seal and the other is completely new
templating 3/5 what do you do with the card???
balance 4/5 they arent great cards imo, although im not sure what you do with the card you search for
colour pie/round req 4/5 the djinn seems a little off colour and the portal doesnt seem very green.
    19/25

    * Unstable Portal 1BGU
    Enchantment
Sacrifice a permanent, shuffle Unstable Portal into its owner's library : Reveal cards from the top of your library until you reveal a permanent card that shares a type with the sacrificied permanent. Put that card into play and remove the rest from the game.

    * Rilmayan Djinn 2BBR
    Creature —*Djinn
    Flying.
Whenever Rilmayan Djinn would be put into a graveyard from anywhere, flip a coin. If you win the flip, remove it from the game. If you lose the flip, shuffle it into its owner's library.
Whenever Rilmayan Djinn is removed from the game from anywhere, you may pay its mana cost. If you do, put it into play and search your library for a card. Shuffle your library afterwards.
    3/3

    Elvish Champion
Flavour 5/5 cool i like it
originality 2/5 not that new, kinda boring actually
    templating 5/5 all good
balance 5/5 this seems like a well balanced card to me
colour pie/round req 5/5 all fine
    22/25

    Gathering of Troops RGW
    Creature - Human Warrior
    Vigilance
Maneouver 1 (You may play ~ during combat if you pay its manoeuver cost in addition to its mana cost.)
They came from all parts of the land, from the biggest city to the highest mountain, from the loneliest plains to the darkest forest.
    3/4

    Ericku
Flavour 3/5 ooh fancy words eh? maybe you shouldve looked it up in the dictionary first though... doesnt quite make sense even if you know what it means
originality 5/5 pretty cool and new and the abilities tie in well
    templating 5/5 looks good
balance 3/5 can be a bit too good really...
colour pie/round req 4/5 yeah looks fine.
    20/25

    Stratographic Assault BRG
    Instant
You may sacrifice a Mountain, a Swamp, and a Forest rather than pay Stratographic Assault's mana cost.
Search your library for a basic land card and put it into play tapped. Then shuffle your library.
Return up to two land cards from your graveyard to play, those lands are 3/2 creatures with haste until end of turn.
Elf, Goblin, and Zombie beware, that from which you draw strength may yet one day take back what it has so freely given.

    Tanthalas
    Flavour 5/5 also very cool
originality 4/5 new and fun but not completely new
templating 4/5 i dont get the second line... does that mean it just acts basically as being 7 to cast? thats too good...
balance 2/5 might be a bit good... alot a bit too good
colour pie/round req 3/5 i said NOT legendary or epic...
    18/25

    Dearaina, Prismatic Goddess - 2WUBRG
    Legendary Creature - Spirit
    Morph WUBRG
~This~'s mana cost can be paid using any colour of mana.
Whenever ~this~ is turned face up, destroy all monocoloured creatures.
    7/7
She encourages diversity by removing the mundane.

    Lord_Kaos
    Flavour 4/5 interesting
    originality 4/5 fun and new
templating 4/5 a few minor mistakes
balance 2/5 the blitz cost is too good.
colour pie/round req 3/5 the blitz cost is also off colour.
    17/25

    Thundering Beast 2BGR
    Creture - Elemental Beast
Blitz 1GR (During your attack step, you may play ~ as an instant, if you do ~ comes into play tapped and attacking, with "Sacrifice ~ at the end of Turn.")
When ~ comes into play, Creatures target opponant control gain -1/-1 until end of turn.
    4/2
Out of the AEther, their roar softens the hearts of the most resolved of warriors.

    Eledin
Flavour 2/5 i dont really get it...
    originality 4/5 kinda new
    templating 5/5 all good
balance 4/5 good but not way too good
colour pie/round req 3/5 the ninjutsu is off colour...
    18/25

    Ninja Recluse UBR
    Creature--Ninja
    Ninjutsu UB
Whenever ~ deals combat damage to a player, it deals 3 damage to target creature that player controls.
At the beginning of your upkeep, target player draws a card, then discards a card. Then return ~ to its owner's hand.
Though he long ago gave up the way of the ninja, he still keeps his blade sharp and his reflexes quick. Just in case.
    2/3

    Absolutionis
Flavour 3/5 i dont get the eot or instant abilities in flavour...
originality 4/5 the instant creature is cool but you didnt do enough with it.
templating 4/5 wouldnt it have made more sense to make it deal 1 damage to everything (period) so it shows the instant bit more?
balance 3/5 a bit too good
colour pie/round req 5/5 works fine
    19/25

    Spitfire Dragon - 1UBR
    Instant Creature - Dragon Zombie
(Instant creatures may be played any time you can play an instant and count as both an instant and creature.)
    Flying, Haste
When Spitfire Drake comes into play, it deals 1 damage to each creature and each player.
At the end of turn, return Spitfire Drake to your hand or pay 2 life.
    4/4

    Sharda
Flavour 4/5 hehehe funny. but not subtle enough :p
originality 5/5 very new and cool
templating 3/5 too much stuff. also the deals damage to you only works if you control it anyway...
balance 0/5 way too good. what does 2r, pay 1 life: draw 3 cards say to you?
colour pie/round req 5/5 it would be very suprising to have your opponent give you a creature...
    17/25

    Spymaster UBR
    Creature - Human Spy
Espionage 2B (2B, Return an unblocked attacker an opponent controls to hand: Put this card into play from your hand under that opponents control tapped and attacking.
Whenever ~ deals damage to you, you may draw 3 cards.
2U: The owner of ~ gains control of it. Any player may play this ability.
2R: ~ deals 1 damage to target creature or player
"So Karlek, you think the enemy is gonna try anything?.... Wait, you're not Karlek!" - Gorbud, last words.
    2/2

    Krey:
Flavour 3/5 i dont really like it that much...
originality 3/5 its like a more specialised channel. kinda cool though
templating 4/5 it doesnt seem quite right... target creature creature?
balance 4/5 seems well balanced, but it probably wouldnt get played
    colour pie/round req 5/5 fine
    19/25

    Gravebound Warrior 2WBR
    Creature - Spirit Warrior
    Fear, Haste
Infuse WBR: Target creature creature gains Fear and Haste and +1/+2 (You may play this card as an Instant targeting an attacking creature, if that creature is still in play at the end of turn remove the targeted creature from play and place this card under that creature owner's control)
    2/4
"Beware, once it taste your soul it wants all of it"

so either void nothing judges aswell or elvish champion wins. congratulations to the winner in advance, whoever it is.
