Pretty sure wizards just said when eldrazi were first created that they naturally were able to walk the planes with something due to how they aren't bound by normal reality or something.
I wonder why she's "the Last Hope" - doesn't that mean all the other planeswalkers are unable to fight? Affected by the madness, maybe?
As for her joining the Oath - it doesn't fit Liliana. However, the team needs their Black Ranger - so if not Liliana then who?
she wouldnt have got a flip walker if they didnt mean for her to get oath and be black ranger
I'd think less power rangers, more Avengers or X-Men. She's basically Wolverine, she cares about people in her own unique and special way but also prone to killing people. She also steps a few more steps in that she recycles people, though.
I feel like Wizards are aiming for the oath to be at the very least their 5 main walkers.
Which are the 4 in the oath and lilly.
Magic duals: origins was made to give us more info and background story on these 5 walkers.
I could see more joining in the long run, but I feel lilly will be joining the oath this set.(Because I highly doubt she could just solo that spicy meatball)
What are the chances we see oath of lilly and maybe oath or tamiyo?
Because Jace is there... and if this name stands true we could get our black oath at least.
Yeah, fully understand that.
Just saying sometimes it will be worth it if that 9 points isn't going to get through and you can clear up a good amount of their board state.
I think you posted this in the wrong forum, there is a modern budget forum.
Deck is just a slower version of soul sisters, but you know that already, don't you BB
The combo is based on Retreat to Kazandu which basically makes our little scouts into infinite big beaters while it gain us infinite life points. The good part of this list is the fact that all the cards are always good even when the combo isn't full assembled. For example, Retreat to Kazandu with a couple of fetches can make our little creatures big enough to be scary, or in a race it can gain us enough life points to win.
Retreat to Coralhelm is able to scry for the missing pieces or can clear the way for the Geist to win (and even the Kazandu enchantment is good to pump the Geist out of reach)
The Scouts are good to cast Geist one turn ahead, and spellskite is good to protect any piece of the combo or stop our opponents to combo us.
Eternal Witness is probably the best card of the deck since in combination with Commune with the gods is able to get any card while is super good at re-buy killed pieces of the combo.
I've choose to play Serum visions over Oath of Nissa because it can't get Enchantments and that it's a real drawback considering that the enchantments are so important to our game plan, nor it can get any Path to Exile, which is a bad position if we want to maintain a controlled boardstate.
Wargate was surprisingly good to me, since it can fetch for every piece of the combo, while is amazing at get any card in the mid game. If casted for 0 on turn 3 (or turn 2 if we drop a turn 1 scout) it can get a bounceland to start looping, or it can get a Ghost Quarter to brake any Tron lands. After sideboard it's even good at getting some silverbullet like Engenereed Explosives against token, Chalice of the void against Pact decks like Ad Nauseam or Tormod's Crypt against any graveyard-based deck or Stony silence for affinity.
The Path to Exiles are there to kill every annoying stuff and make sure we have all the time in the world to get the job done.
The best possible draw is:
turn 1: any Scout
turn 2: drop 2 lands and play one retreat
turn 3: play the second retreat plus a bounceland and proceed to win
But even a turn 2 Geist and turn 3 any retreat that tap blockers or pump the geist is good enough to win quickly..
In general it feels a lot like playing a good midrange deck with a powerful combo (Birthing Pod comes to mind). I'm working hard on this deck and I was about to made a post on my list but it seems that this thread anticipated me
I've made some other lists with alternative combo planes other than the first combo. For example, I've made a Scapeshift one as alternative win condition; a Gifts ungiven and Unburial Rites one; one with Hive Mind and pacts and one with Jace, Architect of Thoughts and Doubling Season, but the BANT midrange one is the best so far. It has a super solid game plan and a lot consistency thanks to the tutors and the Eternal Witnesses. Is really hard to disrupt because it has always a fallback plan and every part of the deck has synergy with the other, which mean it doesn't have to play some bad "standalone" cards like Hive mind, Doubling Season, Edron Crab or Altar of the brood. All those cards are really bad when played alone and are basically wasted slots.
I'm really enjoying playing with it and I can recommend to give a try to my list if you want a solid deck Enjoy!
There is a midrange deck that was on twitch a little bit ago, it used knight of the reliquary.
Basically you would activate knight, sac a forest grab a fetch, sac the fetch grab a forest repeat, all this while pumping and scrying(you could scry on the fetch land and untap on the forest) making knight huge and swinging for the win.
You can still run lotus cobra etc, just knight is a great card for this kinda deck.
Also 4x voice of resurgence may help in the main deck if you're going midrange.
cool theory though.

11 cmc compared to 10 is huge.
Also most of the time you're better off just casting ulamog.
You're better off just running stormchaser mage or something.

just an interaction that is worth noting.
Obviously depending on your boardstate but a neat trick nonetheless.

But he didn't create the idea...

I found this list around when it was posted(Jan 2015)
The guy put a lot of thought into it and built a fairly good deck, not sure how I feel about the blue, may have made it too clunky.
You may want to look into his list for some ideas.
