MTG Salvation

I've been testing this in MWS. It's a simpler build than these, it's just straight creatures with no counters to any other deck.


I haven't worked on the sideboard much, but I think it works pretty well. I'm considering primal forcemage in place of the pitskulk, but I like the unblockable aspect with enough of a boost. Same goes for dryad sophisticate. I really think this can do well in mono-green because the format is dominated by duals and other non-basics. Ohran Viper is just a strong card on its own, I put it in for a threat to an opponent, they either sac a creature, waste a counter, or take the 1 and I get to draw. This build runs out of steam by turn 4-5 when I've played out my hand, so the viper can permit some draw. I've never played standard competitively so please give me critiques on this build.

EDIT: I see the other builds run 20 lands, is that neccessary? I know my deck has a low mana curve, but shouldn't you only really need at most 17-18 when you run 4 birds and 4 llanowar elves? When do you need so much mana late game?

Hopefully my shop won't jack the prices up, they used to be 2.50 a pack but 4 years ago it became 3. I hope they won't turn it 3.50.

What do you guys think of the drama between KCW and Goblinboy. I think both of them are cool guys, but KCW has been overboard lately and especially in the Gutter. Goblinboy got suspended for something he said about KCW in the gutter, which makes no sense since forum rules don't apply there. When another member and I told KCW to chill out (that's the nicer version) he threatened to get the admins to suspend/ban us as well. If you've been paying attention to the "Goblinbou suspended?" thread, many members are choosing sides. I don't mean for us to do the same, but I'm wondering the house's input.

Is there any way we can convince the admins to change the sig size limit? Has anyone actually complained?

Awesome job patron, my entry was garbage. These sig restrictions really bug me sometimes, my original design didn't work with a max height of 100 pixels, so I was stuck with the crappy banner I put in.

I don't get it. What makes it so bad? It's breaks the meta of many formats, really gives a much needed spice to competitive decks. Well, even if it doesn't do something as revolutionary as that, it will make many decks have to change their sideboards, or even main boards with this set. It opens up competitive opportunities for many rogue decks.

Wow man, that's a little harsh. I'm the exact opposite, but it's not because of design or any of that stuff. I'm an almost strictly casual player, and what I see in PC is a whole lot of fun decks to make, and interesting additions to my own. In my play group, this will destroy the hierarchy of strong decks with now easy responses and wins with some of the cards in PC. It's a casual meta-breaker set :glee:. I'm probably going to buy 2-3 boxes of this set fo sho.

edit: @alacar: Did you ever put katamari music as your geek mp3? Katamari on the rocks will have everyone scratch their heads.

i'm going with machius here, but it won't go higher than 8. It's a solid kick to the face on turn 2-3, or a gamefinisher late game. But of course, like most creatures, it's easy to kill with all this removal floating around in every format. It'll be good to play if you go first, because besides vintage/legacy you'll probably be able to smack your opponent one.

I'm soooo pissed. I woke up at 7 (after going to be around 3am, DAMN YOU NARUTO WITH YOUR STUPID CONTINUOUS EPISODES!), because normally I have a college class on saturdays. It's for learning VB.NET(a programing language), and I completely forgot college gets 2 more weeks off for vacation, so me being the stupid person I am, took the train for 40 minutes to go to the College its held at, laughed with the few other stupid people who made the same mistake, and cursed myself as I took the train another 40 minutes back home. What a waste, and now I'm bored and have no plans for the day.

I don't usually go to FNMs because I don't have a standard deck, but a chill-out day would be cool with me.
