So far it looks like a cool and interesting, although niche card. Mostly he will not be played because of Dark Confidant. The breakdown looks like this:

    (A) Are you running a deck that frequently puts itself into top deck mode?
    Run BoB
    (B) If A is true, is your converted mana average in the 3-4+ range? If not see (A)
    If true, Run Scriv.

The problem with this statement is what kind of deck is honestly going to have a 3-4+ average mana cost and still put them self rapidly into top deck mode consistently. The two requirements that have to be true to run this card are counter to each other. The last option is running Scriv as a #5+ version of Bob. But even @ that point if you already have a Bob on the field, he is a dead card.

The only other fact is he is a zombie. And im not even going to try to predict how that will come into effect. So it may end up being a niche card, but in the proper niche cards can become very good.

Wispmare 1 CC Kill target enchant, Dismantling blow Kill enchant/artifact with late game option of card draw. Both superior to Return to dust unless your playing against a deck the plays many artifacts, at which point a general sweeper is better than Return to dust

    @ Magic Orb,
Your card choices and reasons for them, along with some of the things you mention about other decks leads me to believe you are playing in a less developed meta. Which could in fact justify some of your choices, Making you and warden both correct.
However were you to go to any large scale event, you would quickly realize that everything warden is trying to tell you is a tried and true method for dealing with the Modern competitive meta.

@ Ball_Lightning, I see that your looking for fire and Ice, would that be to replace Body and mind?

Also, the daze's in your list don't seem to jive with Landstill. It is a lot more of a tempo card whereas the rest of the deck is aimed at steadying the board in the long run.

@rsaunder I specifically brought up burn as removal to redundantly point out that Yes, it is still bad removal for LS.

@ D3@D I did try Fire/Ice I found it to be a very fun card, but overall lacking in terms of what other cards could do in that same spot.

If i can find some of my old notes ill post the deck lists i was using. Specifically for the point of saying "THESE WERE BADS" so no one else wastes there time trying the same route. Grin

I've spent a while now testing a more Nuke heavy UWR build with Lightning bolt and Lightning Helix. Along with Ahjani V. And just in case the horse isn't already dead enough, 3 Damage just isn't enough for 1 mana to use as removal anymore. While in some situations being able to Throw out helix+ Ahjani's helix was nice for life gain, and every now and then randomly drop 9 instant damage Before end of turn could win game, overall L-Bolt and L-Helix just are not good enough for Landstill in the current meta.

Interesting List Morphling, with the way you have the deck set up, I could see putting the Annul and Dispell In the side board and main decking 3 Extirpates. You have a counter heavy package why not make it so you only have to counter some things once? Counter 1 goyf, never do it again! Not like they can stop Extirpate.

Running Mox Diamond In landstill by itself doesn't seem to add much to the deck. Now its more interesting if you also think of adding something like Crucible of Worlds and Wastelands. Now your explosive power has a bit more stablility and your less susceptible to being wasteland'ed your self

I love the landstill deck, I've loved it for years. The problem being creatures are growing Cheaply efficient and Annoyingly recurring That being said, as warden put Wasteland is VERY relevant in the format. Combining these two things ive been testing with a little package:

"Correct number" is a very relative term, where some variations run a full 4 wastelands and some run none. The Standstill count is really preference, sometime 3 works just fine if you have other draw engines while other decks need the 4th.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone seriously tested the red splash? I have been wondering if it is even remotely compettitve. I see alot of lists upping the EExplosives count to 4, cutting Wrath, and keeping Humility.

As far as the red splash is concerned, I know about Firespout (in a tribal aggro meta), but what about Lightning Helix, or my personal favorite, Fire-Ice? These cards could help Landstill out alot it seems, as added removal, a little draw from Ice, some lifegain to set aggro back, plus more spot kill for Merfolk decks as well. Plus, well, there's always Pyroblast or Red Elemental Blast out of the sideboard. Opinions?

I have been trying a URw landstill build, but with white as the splash and the current way the deck runs I don't know if it really qualifies as "Landstill".
Once I have a stronger list, and some results VS current competitive decks I'll gladly post my list and match ups for discussion.

    On Eternal Witness

After playing this deck for a while now, and in multiple of its forms (BGW/BG/BGR)
and trying eternal witness i would say that it is a very useful one of in the deck
At the worst you end up dropping, re-grabbing a cycle land and Drawing a card.
I would argue that eternal witness is much less valuable in the deck if you do not include Volrath's Stronghold.
