Does Snapcaster's ability work on all cards with the same name in your graveyard or just one copy of that particular card? For example, if I have 3 x Spell Pierce in the graveyard and named Spell Pierce with Snapcaster, could I play all three copies of Spell Pierce that turn or just one?
I know Delver decks have been seeing less play since Treasure Cruise got banned, but I still like the deck. I'm considering running this deck or something very similar to it (with play testing and your suggestions) at GP Charlotte in June. I'm not looking to top 8 or top 16, but I would like to win a few games and hopefully a few matches. That said, with the price of Snapcasters reaching $45 these days, I don't think I'm willing to invest that much money into this deck. Otherwise, any suggestions welcome (I haven't out the sideboard together yet, so any suggestions there would be great, too).
Add $30 Mythic? More Rabblemaster? I'm not telling you anything you don't already know.
How is it not doing what you want?
First time I've ever tried to assemble or play a deck like this. I've been playing variations of Jeskai Ascendency Combo, Jeskai Tokens, Jeskai Heroic Combo, etc. None of those have been doing all that well for me, so I wanted to give Mardu Tokens a shot. So, I just wanted some advice on this build since it is my first try.
Everything in these decks look great except for Eidolon. I've seen it played pre-rotation in the R/w Burn deck, and it just really didn't work well. For me, I think I'd have the same result running it in this kind of deck.
Pardon my ignorance here, but I'm confused about Eidolon of the Great Revel. Why is this such a popular card in all the decks in this thread when most of the cards in each deck are 3 CMC or lower which causes damage to you when you play a 3 CMC card? You could easily end up essentially killing yourself with that card.
This may take a few weeks for me to put together (based on work schedule, which cards I pull in my FTF box, etc.), but I'm curious if this deck is still viable. Again, suggestions welcome.
I know there's already a thread on Budget High Tide not too far down the page, but they don't appear to be running their deck the way I will hopefully be able to run mine... hence the separate topic. My main problem is that there are so many good cantrips and counters that it's hard to narrow the list down to 75 cards. I haven't yet finished the Sideboard either, and I know how important that part of the deck is because of Cunning Wish.
Any help would be appreciated. I want to make sure that I have enough counters to keep an opponent from stopping the combo before it happens or during. I also want enough cantrips to find everything I'm looking for. Dig Through Time seems like a good option, but with High Tide, every card is important. So, it becomes a very tough choice to decide which six cards to exile.
Again, any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
I'm a big fan of KMC sleeves in general, but their color selection leaves something to be desired. If I wanted to use Dragon Shield sleeves instead (for a different color), would the KMC Perfect Fit sleeves fit inside the Dragon Shield sleeves? Or, will they only fit well inside the KMC Super and Hyper Matte sleeves?
Just throwing this out there. There is a good bit of enchantment hate out there right now. So, be on the lookout for cards like Deicide, Revoke Existence, and Erase.
You'd only be able to get one Elspeth for the price of both Flooded Strands (if it was a straight up 100% trade). Bloodstained Mire is there for deck thinning more than anything, and deck thinning is always a good thing (yes it will help with Delve, but that's not its main purpose). I plan to use them in a future Mardu deck I hope to build. This is why I mentioned in my post that the original poster could make changes to the mana base as needed.
As far as Treasure Cruise...in any control deck, you're gonna be playing anywhere from one to several cards per turn (both yours and theirs) that will go straight to the graveyard after that. Treasure Cruise works perfectly into a deck that's going to be playing so many cards that go straight to the graveyard on each player's turn.
I am not the best control player, but I put this deck together (trying to build around Pearl Lake Ancient as well) over the past couple of days. I honestly don't know how it'll work, and I don't know your budget (feel free to change up the mana base as needed). But, here's the list.
Thanks in advance!
