I was thinking about this new oblivion ring vampire as a 1 of in the resto slot. Since it says opponent you can't exile your own stuff as protection, get the free pump on attacks and then get your creature back when they kill it. Is it better than the vigilance angel we got in the last block? Pumps is nice but I think flying is going to be better in the long run. Best case you exile an emerakul or deaths shadow by biking this guy in the win on your next turn. Worst case it dies to half an electrolize.

Just a note for people discussing Gideon of the Trials, his first ability prevents damage from a permanent so it fogs any valakut in play, which may make him a better choice in the scapeshift matchups over AoZ.

If you want to use search the city to exile your creatures then a better option is in the above comment, play relic of progenitus. It will also be a good inclusion of you want to swap tragic lesson for thirst for knowledge since it increases the number of artifacts in your deck to discard.

Because search is pure value!
Look at his list. Logic knot does not belong since he's not countering any spells...
Set adrift also doesn't have a spot in this deck since there is no interaction with the opponent other than blocking.
I'm pretty sure the op wants to play tragic lesson in this deck. Seems fitting after all. So no thanks on the other options.
I'm building this deck! Looks too saucy to not bring to the ptq.

Search the city is bad
Playing a bad 3cmc draw spell in place of a good one is bad
Excluding delve spells just because the original deck builder may have forgot about them is bad

Building the deck as is, and then playing it in a ptq, is a waste of money.

I though storm was pretty favored to very favored after sideboarding. I had someone actually ragequit vs. me in the last round of wnm last week because he lost so hard. Maybe you are keeping poor hands?

I prefer Birds and I don't think that the Exalted trigger is that important, since I always attack with more than 1 creature anyway..

The exalted trigger is more important than the flying on the birds.

The best way to do Mindcensor is one each of all four versions, Future Sight, Amonkhet, promo, and invocation. Never miss a chance to tilt the thin-skinned.

That was my go to for flickerwisps & ghost quarters but WOTC ruined that plan by reprinting wisp in MM3.

non foil, non promo original set is the best method for any card collecting.

That option wasn't in the poll!

Important d&t question for the thread: Which is the better Aven mindcensor? Pre-release promo or invocation?
Follow up question of if invocation, should you make sure to play with invocation aether vials as well?

If you had to chose 5 cards to build your sideboard out of right now (3 copies of 5 cards) what would they be?

That's the question I had before I started researching - How do we not die!?

Game 1 the list I've made has bound//determined to deal with anyone trying to stop you from winning, you just have to race them. Game 2 and three you can swap the B//D for Devastation Tide if your opponent is playing an aggressive deck.
I don't have Utopia Sprawl in the deck because I don't own any misty rain-forests in MTGO which is definitely important when you want to play the sprawl. Every once in a while it comes up that you draw a few cards, only hit ramp spells, and have to pass the turn with 3 ramps and 2 lands in hand. You'd rather not do this which is why I've gone with the edge of autumns over sprawls. In a pinch you can eat a land to try and continue combing off. In my latest version I think I've taken out the Telling Times for 4 Explores to really guarantee you can hit a ramp spell on turn 2 & 3 to cast a turn 4 dictate.

I think its worse than Tectonic edge but am open to swapping them if shown otherwise.

I don't know about you guys but I can't buy a win against Counters Company!

Mono-white D&T is not fast enough to beat Counters Company or compromise them. And its not controlling or disruptive enough to keep the board clear due to CoCo and Chord being able to tutor the exact missing pieces to combo off.

How are you dealing with CC both pre and sideboard?

Is this just one of those decks we can't beat and hope to not run into? Or is there a tech that I'm missing?

Add harsh mentor :3

I am not sure what Mery-style is...
The Monowhite version of the deck that's popular right now came to people's attention when Theau Mery played it to a 2nd place finish at GP Vegas. Brian Coval then changed 1? 2? cards and played it dominantly at an SCG Invitational, winning the event.

While none of the ideas used by Mery were unprecedented, that particular configuration had never been played before and ended up being very, very good in the current meta. As a result, his decklist has become quite popular and has appeared many times since its debut.

People keep saying this, but his deck list was pretty much the same thing that people had been playing online since January link. Wesco even said after the event that 2 of the cards should be swapped out for mirran crusader main deck due to the rising deaths shadow decks.

Cut a blade splicer and go 3-1. Both are 3 power first strikers so the only times you are going to be upset about the swap is in games where you would have been able to make a bunch of tokens. Most of the time they are pretty similar.

Also played a Sea Gate Wreckage because I only have 3 Horizon Canopy and I did not like it. It never drew me a card because my tec edges and GQs were always being sac'd to kill lands. Will keep trying it out, but may just play 1 mishras factory instead.

At some point in a game you should realize that you aren't setting your opponent back by using ghost quarters or tec edges, even if you have an arbiter out. Sometimes this happens as early as turn 3 or 4. Save them to kill man-lands in the end game and you will have all the mana you need to activate the wreckage.
