I know that feeling with Reflecting Pool on opening hands, and just carring 2 of them.
I really liked the deck how it came out with Spellskite on MainBoard. I may would go with 2 Homing Sliver and at least, for those control decks, 1xFrenetic Sliver, if they are going to die, let's try to save them first, a lot of games I won with frenetic =P
I would like to try mines with Phantasmal image, the possibilities you described are awesome. Even copying a Tasigur and doing it's abilitie and returing a dead sliver to hand.
My next try will include 2 Apostle's Blessing. Realised last games they need a bit more protection, also, will remove all white costs, and adding then 4 Sedge Sliver and 4 Lightning Bolt. Protecting the flying sliver with Diffusion Sliver and apostle's, will take out your opponents mind, more if they can rengenerate.
I put 4 copies from it, and 3 mana-producer slivers to have more chances to play it. At turn 3-4 at the end of opponents turn, I could play 2 of them, making my turn 41 damage with 3 lords + leeching + flying.
Tomorrow there's an Open to play, and I will finally test it against competitive decks to see it's true potential. Adding 2 slivers "by the face" in opponents turn is very incredible, making them more powerful, boosting each other slivers.
Forgive me for not reading through the whole thread but I was just curious if anyone has tried Shared Animosity in Modern Slivers. Some of the Goblin players like it as maybe a three of.
Just my opinion: I think it's not that good (it's a good card on goblins!) but with slivers you are playing Vials, paths, may abrupts... and if you add more non-creature cards, may you are losing a lot of potential and damage.
I'm trying a deck with fetch too. I saw it after some games that helps much more as I have it before. But mine plays with 2 Rally the Ancestors. Every time I had it on hand, or draw it, I won. No one expects it and gets full tapped because the table "is clean", great mistake!
I've been testing the deck today, with just 2 Rally the Ancestors and it goes like a charm. So many matches won thanks to it. They didn't expect it at all, with 2 Blur Sliver (graveyard/battlefield) ensures the haste to finish.
For this deck,Leeching Sliver can work as a great finisher, for all thouse that are not 100% convinced. In almost all my matches, I won thanks to it, making the damage before dealing damage is part of "combo" for saying it somehow. I got surprised I could manage it without mana producer slivers, such as Manaweft Sliver. I didn't had any problems reaching the 5 mana curve. Thinking of getting rid of 1 Watery and add one Godless Shrine just to make sure I can go for white more easily, just in case. I really liked how it came out.
I was thinking on 2-3 Rally the Ancestors because it's an explosive deck, from beggining to end. That in mind, if an opponent plays very defensive, like control / removals, the firsts turns you will hurt him at least, and when he/she runs out of removal/counters, you can make the surprise of returning all of them to play and finish the work. May not legion's initiative, or yes, must test it a lot first, but thouse cards together can make a lot of pain to our opponents.
I'm sure that all of us have got thouse days that opponents had the luck of getting rid of every drop with removal/counters. So, what about this one? It can be a great finisher returning all thouse dead slivers to play.
I would play something like:
4 Sinew, Predatory, Sedge (lords are always welcome, even Sedge for regenerating)
4 Leeching sliver (massive damage for every attacking sliver)
4 Galerider (flying is the most important to finish them)
2 Diffusion (protecting them is always welcome, not a Crystaline, but well)
3 Blur (really need it for Rally)
May another good card, for disconcert opponents, Life from the Loam can help in late game when your opponent controls your field with removal. I'm considering it.
It's a very early idea that need to be pollished, what you think of it?
BTW I also was thinking of Legion's Initiative. As Rally the Ancestors is an instant spell, you can cast it on his/her ends turn sacrifice Legion's and push on yours.
Anyway this is my current deck list for Modern slivers. I would like to avoid using non sliver spells, but some are really very tempting.. any advice?
Put [ deck ] and [ /deck ] without spaces and between tags add the cards
For experience, I know that if they got just a creature more powerful than yours, if you don't have Flying, you gonna pass it bad. I would recommend 4 or 3 path to exile, and depending of wich playstyle you want, more aggro or control-aggro, remands and/or vapor snag.
I laughed with your answer @Slarg232 hahaha, good one!
Last FNM one came into the store where we play with slivers, and became 2º place with slivers, adding Sedge Sliver on his main deck, that combined with Diffusion Sliver makes very good sinergy. He plays with fetch, and may remands, some paths... Didn't saw his deck almost, didn't play with him, but seems pretty much competitive.
I was thinking of a midrange strategy for modern slivers with grixis colours. Basically lay down removals, discards and counters to cripple opponents decks then play evasive threats that are hard to remove to close out the game. Threw in a few lifelinkers to help stabilize and offset the life lost. Tried to keep the cmc lower so it's faster and less taxing on the manabase. Any ideas if this strategy would work?
not a bad idea. Sedge + Diffusion will be very a pain in their asses. I would play extirpate on sb, letting you 2 slots more. Dreadbore is good, but just as sorcery, I would play 1-2 and 2-3 terminates (imo). May you want to add Hero downfall. Looks fun to play.
Also, what you think about Sentinel Sliver? It can be a great card making your slivers defensive/aggresive at the same time.
I was thinking, if you don't find sentinel a good choise, removing Legion Sliver and Sentinel, and adding: 2 Adaptive Automaton + Bonescythe Sliver or 3 Adaptive

Thanks for your review!

1 Gemhide Sliver
4 Predatory Sliver
4 Collected Company
4 Galerider Sliver
2 Diffusion Sliver
4 Lightning Bolt
4 Sedge Sliver
3 Blur Sliver
2 Striking Sliver
2 Apostle's Blessing
4 Aether Vial
Still gonna think the lands that will be in, but how do you see the main board?

This is the deck I gonna play:
1 Breeding Pool
1 Flooded Strand
1 Forest
1 Godless Shrine
1 Hallowed Fountain
1 Island(259)
1 Marsh Flats
1 Misty Rainforest
1 Overgrown Tomb
1 Plains(250)
1 Polluted Delta
1 Sacred Foundry
4 Sliver Hive
1 Temple Garden
2 Windswept Heath
1 Wooded Foothills

Bad luck that sunday. Will try it next time with some changes that can be even better.

This is the deck without sideboard:
4 Blur Sliver
2 Cautery Sliver
4 Diffusion Sliver
4 Galerider Sliver
4 Leeching Sliver
4 Predatory Sliver
2 Sentinel Sliver
4 Sinew Sliver
2 Striking Sliver
4 Virulent Sliver
2 Breeding Pool
2 Flooded Strand
3 Hallowed Fountain
1 Island
1 Misty Rainforest
3 Polluted Delta
1 Sacred Foundry
4 Sliver Hive
3 Watery Grave

Edit:
Maybe cards that can fit better:
- Remove 2 x Sentinel Sliver and include 2 x Abrupt Decay
Here is an example list I've made:
4 Predatory Sliver
4 Sedge Sliver
4 Galerider Sliver
4 Leeching Sliver
4 Blur Sliver
2 Frenzy Sliver
2 Gemhide Sliver
2 Manaweft Sliver
2 Diffusion Sliver
1 Sliver Legion
2 Path to exile
3 Rally the Ancestors
2 Bloodstained Mire
1 Forest
1 Godless Shrine
1 Island
2 Marsh Flats
1 Mountain
1 Overgrown Tomb
2 Plains
3 Sliver Hive
1 Swamp
1 Steam Vents
1 Temple Garden
3 Windswept Heath
I'm sure there are ways to improve this, like mana base. But this one let's you play with some other spells, like those 2.
What you think about it?
With Fate Reforged spoilers, I've seen a great card that can fit very well within aggro decks like this one.
Rally the ancestors
