Im gonna use this new 5cm guy at my Krenko's commander, because direct damage spells, but i dont think that is the solution for us to work with a RB vial build. Maybe have another goblins at next exp
Congrats dude. The main thing about this game is have fun playing, so theres no problem coming with a budget list, instead sorry about that, Tell us your ideas, your strategies. Dont worry about Guides or Atarkas.
Yet, u had a great result against elves. A complicated match, in my opinion.
I just got back from our Modern Monday tournament, and out of 18 participants, I ended up being 1st with a 4-1 score. Here is the deck I used:...
Congrats dude... this exactly what our threads need. Not a stupid discussion about merging goblin-burn because 'grenade is a terrible top deck'.
'You know nothing Jon Sn... @Nevelo'!
goblin grenade is a great finisher. Of course doesnt work if u gonna build a deck with 12-15 creature/tokens. Often you gonna have granedes at had and no creature. My deck uses 31 creature, 2 grenades MD and 1 SB for fastest matchs. And i really happy about them
So, i anyone have an usefull idea, or a good build.. perhaps even a goblin-burn build, show us and argue about your points. Dont just say 'this is lame', 'this sucks'... why sucks? Why not? Show me results.
I don't think that making a primer on vial goblins in this thread is a good idea. FIrst of all they are really different decks (one main deifference, a different mana curve that can go over 3), with a very different strategy and that makes consequently very different choices on the cards to play. Secondly, vial goblin has not a real shape right now and there's a thread that's working specifically on it. So these are two different discussions. When they were melted toghether there was a lot of confusion and clash of interests. I would keep the attention of this thread on our "all in goblins" and the primer should be the first thing to do it. You can mention the vial version and put the link of the vial goblins primer if someone wants to see it...
I really agree about explosive/vial essential differences. Better stay separated. And.. same guys working there stay watching development here :D.@treachtv can confirm hehe
So, I attended my local Modern Monday tournament again, and this time, I tried something different. It's not really a goblin deck as those we're used to, but you might be able to extract some info regarding Mardu Scout at least, and I must say that my opponents were more scared of him than Spike Jester. Why, I don't really know, and maybe it was a mistake from their side, but the little surfing goblin did well in a "RB Burning Goblin" deck. For those that are interested in what I played, and whom I beat and lost to, feel free to check out my blog post.
Its a relevant idea. A few times in the past i tried play with a goblin-burn version. Hadnt the best polished list, but its a surprising deck. Just a few changes to make a almost ortodhox burn in a game 2, but have huge help of goblin grenade, yet i used mogg fanatic too
About Mogg Fanatic being the worst in the deck; he is pretty efficient except 1 damage is not that good in magic. Although he is a good card, he is probably the worst creature in alot of goblin builds
I really disagree about fanatic. A lot games he's 'MVP'. Kill just necessary creatures (Pyromancer, Delver, Confidant, Skirge) and dont eats removal.
Up to this point, I have mixed results with RB Vial, but have yet to play with Lead the Stampede, so that might change the match-up versus Pod or other creature-heavy decks at least.
Im really interested about Lead to Stampede using just 4 G sources. Hows working ? Reply at Vial thread
I've been working on this deck along time, but just now had curiousity searching atmtgsalvation if anyone can help me. I'm SaRNa, from Brazil, and at our foruns theres not much efforts on 'modern MUD', but i never given up... so, this my current list
So, this above, its traditional cards at this strategy.
Heres my contribuitions: D
The huge decks problems is the lack of 1cmc drop. Legacy mud has double lands, like city of traitors. Modern has'nt this lands, so turn 1, what did you do ? Nothing
My solutions: Wind Zendikon works like a eternal mishra factory. I almost never attacks with this deck, but, its a option. Yet makes a 1 mana land > 2 mana, with Grand Architect, and a 3/3 flying beater/blocker.
Heres a example.
t1: island, wind zendikon.
t2: darksteel citadel, etherium sculptor.
t3: island, grand architect
t4: kuldotha forgemaster, lightning greaves
active kuldotha, sacrifice citadel, sculptor and kuldotha.
Brings Blightsteel. Lightning greaves attachs to Blighsteeel.
You have yet 2 island to counter a removal with Muddle the mixture.
Attacks for the win. Or brings Platinum to lock the game.
Gemstone Caverns acts like a turn aceleration, if lucky. I have just a wind zendikon drop 1, so why not start as a turn 2 ? Teh colorless mana doesnt affect the game, if no lucky.
I've been testing this week at Cockatrice against a lot of decks. Here are some of them:
Worship Troll > 0x2 Worship entering t2. I dont have enchant removal and cant kill Thrun the last troll. Nothing i can do about it.
Delver Spirits > 1x2
I dont knew the deck, then was surprised by huge hexproof flying tokens.
Through the Breach 2x0
Emrakul connected game 1 and destroy all my permanents, but i could rebuild my field and finish him. Game 2 Earwig squad + spiked jester won the game
Aura Hexproof > 2x1 Daybreak Coronet stopped my stompy, game 1. Side In: Inquisition + Warren Weirding. I stayed removing creatures from hand or by sacrifice then he cant recover.
MonoBlack Control > 0x2 Raven's Crime was the big star! Liliana of The veil and smallpox helped
Twin > 2x0
I have a lot of removals. Side In: 3 Inquisition Kozilek + 1 Terminate + 3 Rakdos Charm
Pod > 2x1
Noble Hierarch + Birds started too fast for his side, but lords stompy!
U Tron > 0x2
Wurmcoil + Destiny Stone done the job. Earwig Squad helped a lot game 2: removed 2 wurmcoil + 1 mindslaver. I felt safe, only need destroy Platinum Angel with Tin Street Hooligan at hand. He had a 2nd Mindslaver at started hand! And locked me.
Battle of Wits > 2x1
First game i dont realized how many cards he had, then when Battle of the Wits entered its too late. After i assumed a explosive strategy. t4 and t5 win.
Venser control > 2x0
Almost I've been locked game 1, but Murderous Redcap + lords finished the game. Game 2 stompy!
Considerations
- Mogg Fanatic shining every game he been entered.
- Spike Jester still one of the best goblins i have.
- Mirror Entity turns the battlefield. Enters by Vial then untapped mana makes huge Goblins. Won 3 or 4 games this way.
- I cut off 2x Boggart Ram-Gang because helps, but often is not the best option in hand.
- I replaced 2x Smash to Smithereens for 2x Tin Street Hooligan. Almost 7 G lands, then no problem until now.
- Earwig Squad is strong helpful and easy played by prowl cost.
- Kozilek Inquisition works for me like an extra removals. Helped a lot against Twin and Pod.
Ideas
- I replaced Krenko, Mob Boss for Wort, Boggart Auntie. Almos ever side out Krenko, then i like try Wort again.
- Testing Murderous Redcap. Top of curve, but i have 9 lords MD, ever enters damaging 4+.
- I changed my manabase. Working good. Never had problems with Reflecting Pool until now, ever is a RB Dual, and sometimes a 5th 6th cavern. Thinking about test Gemstone Mine like @Joneleth Irenicus Mentioned before.
@BlipBlop
The RDW you still saying its a Goblins explosive version ?
I think browbeat could help if u have Vial, because remain lands untapped to cast and put acquired goblins in game vialing, if draw. But im not a fan too
I trying splash just 1 white 'goblin'. Have Caverns and Vial, but doesnt exist fastland RW yet. Which my better option avaiable? Ancient Zigurat ? (30 creatures)
@Poopingmypants you're welcome to vial goblins thread at http://www.mtgsalvation.com/forums/the-game/modern/deck-creation-modern/566863-rb-vial-goblins
I know we have just a few guys brewing this version, but good results too
Yet, u had a great result against elves. A complicated match, in my opinion.
And, of course, im happy too about all discussions happening

Theres a link for new primer yet ?

2 Spellskite
4 Etherium Sculptor
2 Chief Engineer
1 Scarecrone
4 Grand Architect
2 Treasure Mage
2 Faerie Mechanist
1 Phyrexian Metamorph
3 Master Transmuter
3 Kuldotha Forgemaster
1 Wurmcoil Engine
1 Platinum Angel
1 Blightsteel Colossus
2 Lightning Greaves
[spells]
4 Muddle the Mixture
4 Wind Zendikon
[lands]
4 Darksteel Citadel
17 Island
1 Buried Ruin
1 Gemstone Caverns
Considerations:
Grand Architect, Etherium Sculptor and Chief Engineer are our metalworkers, just obvious include.
Blightsteel Colossus, Platinum Angel and Wurmcoil Engine, my finishers.
Kuldotha Forgemaster, Master Transmuter and Scarecrone, the deck engine. The tricks!
Faerie Mechanist, Treasure Mage and Muddle the Mixture transmute works like my tutors. My utilities cards.
Spellskite, Lightning Greaves and Muddle the Mixture defends my finishers and tricks.
Phyrexian Metamorph its the 2nd Wurmcoil or Patinum.

Any news about other primer ?

I really think we need separate the deck types. We have to focus but go round in circles
Worship Troll > 0x2
