Regardless of how broad the stimuli are, it doesn't change the fact that someone living for that long isn't very likely to just spontaneously come across some completely new experience.
And why not? Just like Noman said, that is under full control of the sotrywriters. The guy had like 5000 years bored of being the smartest brain in the plane and bored even of managing his guild. I'm guessing the only completely new experience he could have would be precisely sparkin'.
I'm not so sure. One would think being over 10000 years old would have exposed him to pretty much all spark-activating stimuli he was ever going to be exposed to.
Nevertheless, a connection to Niv-Mizzet of some kind is still a possibility.
But Ravnica was "shut from travelers" while the Guildpact was active. How could he know he had a spark? He just believed himself capable of great things, which he was, but not of something like that. Besides, it's the only "plneswalker-ish" evidence we have in the books (along with the Parhelion). And having to flee from a battle he could not win, believing himself the greatest being in the plane, is kinda traumatic, so that could trigger a spark.
I think I was the first one to propose that on the Wizards boards, no one took too much attention, sadly.
Still, Tezzeret does sound machine-y, could be related to many things. Even Karn...
Thats assuming you've had the ability resolve and gain control of the creature.
When her steal ability resolves it sets up the trigger ability for when it uptaps, if it hasn't resolved it doesn't exist.
MMM, I got it now. Sorry for the temporary loss of stack-knowledge...
Even destroying one of them, it's still good, BTW.
Gatherer seems to say otherwise. Look at the bottom:
9/25/2006 If Merieke becomes untapped, its "destroy" ability will trigger, but you won't lose control of the creature you took before it's destroyed.
4. Tap Merieke Ri Berit
Stack: Merieke ability (targeting creature #2)
Merieke ability (targeting creature #1)
5. Let the abilities resolve. Both creatures are yours as long as Merieke remains tapped.
Yes, it works.
You're forgetting to stack Merieke's triggered ability when it untaps on step 3. The one that destroys the creature? Yep. So it doesn't work exactly like that, because the "you control" clause doesn't say "as long as she's tapped", it says "as long as you control her", and the moment it untaps it will not lose control of the creature but will stack the triggered destroy ability. You can still sac it, though.
Change Body into Forest- seriously weird card, it's a Grizzly Bear with Mistform Ultimus's ability without the legendary status and in green. That said for limited bears are always good and it does give you another addition to any tribal deck.
Specially two or more of them in play and coat of arms. A guide would be needed to know how big they are.
Exactly that, as someone speculated in our national forums when Liliana first came out, it's a way of dealing with different aspects of the same person. That's after I said instead of types they were more like 'personalities' or something like that.
I can't help but notice that none of the decklists submitted so far include Magus of the Vineyard, which of course means a possibility of turn two Garruk, untap two lands, and wall of roots.
Why, I ask? That would be a play to see.
Know what?
As a new player, I started becoming interested because of the art. I didn't even notice the change in the card frame (conveniently for the discussion, I started playing when the White Lady was kicking ass) until I had a green card from Mirrodin next to a green card from Onslaught! Frames are not a big deal for new players (at least for a vast majority I've met) to start getting into the game. New mechanics shouldn't be, either, because every block has them. That's something every magic player has to live with because it's part of the game. Period. Just like rotation of blocks. I won't start complaining when Ravnica, my favoritest block, rotates because I know that's how the game works.
If somebody believes the game is too complicated they should start paying more attention and stop playing other card games I'm not gonna mention because they are not too intellectual and well designed as our dear Magic.
As per planeswalkers, I always feared the idea, but not one of us is entirely sure of how they work, so I'll not complain until they're completely revealed. Then I can have a valid opinion.

Remember that anybody can be a neo-walker. Even a guy with no magic. And size shouldn't matter. There's one that ended planeswalker, even being a 2/2
Ouch, that hurt.

The only difference (and an important one) is that reaserchers and fool's demise will not appear on a Lorwyn booster/draft...

Arright, sorry about that .
