Am I missing something? After the first permanent is sacced, it'll be attached to a creature or land YOU CONTROL. That means it's bad right?
You're missing something. The ability that says "you control" is part of the ability granted by the enchantment, to the permanent that you enchanted, which most likely will be controlled by their opponent, so when the trigger... triggers, they have to attach it to something THEY control.
It's kind of vague, but I think that if it was going to deal damage to attackers and blockers at the same time it would say "deal 2 damage to each attacking creature and each blocking creature."
It would also be an awful awful card if it dealt to attackers AND blockers each time, so I'm going to go ahead and say it just deals damage to one or the other but not both.
Makeshift Mannequin goes well with Akroma... nothing like a mid-combat Akroma ambush. And most of the spells that could target her... can't. Course it would suck to have Akroma get killed by a giant growth.
The other thing you didn't mention is that there are no quality early counterspells in this set to replace Remand and Spell Snare.
But hey, once permission becomes a rogue archetype, people will stop sideboarding this, right?
Sure the obvious use is against permission, but this card is good vs so many nonpermission cards that i doubt it will ever stop seeing sideboard play. This card basically gives you the teferi effect (players cant play spells on your turn) for 1G. More decks than blue like to play cards on the other person's turn (see Incinerate and Char).
The Treefolk don't really need a 3 color land.. the only nongreen treefolk worth playing in constructed is Doran, and you can handle that between birds and painlands. And Fertile Ground in block.
It's hard to say without having the cards to play with, but there's a lot of good stuff in here, and also a lot of dreck (I'm looking at you hideaway garbage lands).
Well time for me to stop the insanity and finally get to sleep. Hope that answered everyones questions. Well later yall stay safe and take care. Hope yall enjoyed this season of rumors and spoilers lol.
I don't pretend to know much about multiplayer, but at least their tournament list is semi-believable. I think we can all agree they got #1 right, at least as far as we can tell based on pure power level.
The rest of the cards are questionable, and Makeshift Mannequin seems much less deserving than a lot of the other cards we've just seen.
As for me, I can't wait to bloe some $#!@ up with Chandra.
i can see it be used in limited actually, not only for clashing, but as an evasion/win card, plus it does gain you 3 life, i mean, isn't red bull gives you wings played in 10th limited?
Sometimes, but that also does 3 damage.
I'm not saying it won't see play in limited, although that play will largely consist of "23rd card because your pool sucked"-itis. My point is that it could have cost 1-2 mana less and been a decent card, Even at 2W it wouldn't be anything to write home about.
I guess there's the clashing factor, although I guess it depends on how much clashing people will actually do in limited games.

MaRo said they were putting lifelink into black in one of this columns.

I think I just found a new favorite phrase.

I'm not asking for super, just playable.
I doubt that. Even aggro decks like to play spells on their opponent's turns (incinerate and char much?).
