Why would knowing Shinichi's faction influence your shot? Faction shouldn't be relevant to alignment?
If you hoped to get discussion going, shooting a lurker was not the way to do it. Shinichi was frequently the candidate people defaulted to scumreading - killing him would have at least forced them to look elsewhere. So avoiding shooting Shinichi is exactly what I'd expect scum to do :I

1053 was nearly confirmed town to me. I also think asking who would be a worthy shot is a good way of generating discussion?

I think I've been explicit about this, but shooting a confirmed Stark doesn't help my alt win con whereas shooting someone who wasn't confirmed a faction that didn't advance my alt win con does. To be even more explicit - targs need to kill baratheons (the other clause doesn't feel achievable in the current game state).

Also, people were already discussing good shots in the thread before I went ahead and did it. Many of them said that they were considering shooting into the lurker pile.

Ok, I'm more tired than I thought I would be from my flight so gonna check out early tonight. I'll be busy at work tomorrow since it'll be my first day back, but I'll be around tomorrow before deadline in a similar time slot to now (i.e. couple hours before deadline if I have the time right).

Ok, I'm back home and can post from my laptop finally!

Given that I have like 30 hours before deadline, I figure I'll catch up quickly to the rest of D2 and then do skim ISOs as I see helps.

I dislike RE's entrance and reaction to me shooting 1053. #2233 and #2234 as a combo felt gross to me - the vote on me is whatever if their 1053 town read was super strong. But their shade on Hunger is pinging me, unless I skimmed over an explanation they gave at some point in D1.

Out of the others, Rhand just /barning RE and Thousand Winds on me is a bit ???

    @RE's #2292:
At that point in time, I felt I could maybe get a discussion going with Shinichi to get a solid read on him/get him lynched (whereas I think I had yet to see anything from 1053 D2), so went for a lurking scum read instead. Also being honest, I knew the faction of Shinichi already which contributed to why I shot elsewhere. I went ahead with a shot early today without other people's input because the game state at that point was basically glacial, just looking at how the wagons went today I doubted we were getting anywhere until right before deadline so maybe the shot attempt could generate discussion.

No, my role doesn't have a reason to need to hide my kill target before I make it. It's basically just a 50% shot with a caveat - I can't kill a certain person.

I think overall, I'm still town-reading RE. The open declaration of their win con is NAI, but I liked their probe and exchange with Chris. It felt like trying to solve Chris despite the alt win con meaning that RE would theoretically be ok with a shrug lynch/wagon on Chris. That plus the mysterious Cantrip clear thing I guess.

Not sure what to think of Chris at the current moment. I liked their start of D1, but I don't really remember much else they did after that so that read dropped off a little. Rod voted for Chris today because of his weird cage-y behaviour overnight regarding not wanting to flavour claim. I think overall it's probably NAI, but it did read a little theatrically (i.e. his paranoia was a bit overblown but I guess stuff like tom having two factions is a thing).

Not a fan of his reaction to people questioning his vote more than any actual reason he's laid out in the thread so far. His reaction to people wanting to discuss his Vaimes read in particular is what's most suspicious to me but then his stubbourness I'm not sure can come from scum!Chris. I know pride etc... but not changing the Vaimes read after multiple people went ??? at him for it then his last couple posts regarding people's comments on his play feels genuine in tone.

I'm not really sure I understand Kami's progression on me/Shin in D2. It makes sense why he's voting for me (i.e. the other wagon so he survives), but his progression from #2245 to #2468 is ???. He's super set on this dichotomy (then adds Chris for the trichotomy) but it doesn't really feel like he developed a read on me at all apart from more people having voted for me over Shin at this current point in time. Also his #2464 role speculation and his certainty that I'm the right lynch for today in #2468 is also a bit baffling to me.

    Vote: Kami

    PTAP:

My phone ran out of data so I'm posting this whilst I have some wifi in this train station. I'm back home tomorrow (~20 hours from this post), and I'm gonna devote a lot of time to fully catching up on this game.

X>Y, do you have a lot of experience playing mafia?

Deadline is roughly four days away, btw.

Yes, haven’t played for a while but have experience before that. (Though I got mislynched D1 on my only game here)

On mobile so not sure how to multiquote but dislike Shin’s response to me. The whole catch of the “day-vig” thing might just be different vocab. But it felt super TMI to me to jump to accepting that Rod (who he scum read) was a vig over a scum or even neutral KP role.

His read of Rod (even ignoring the whole Chris’s catch stuff) just feels made up. He’s had plenty of posts since and it feels like nothing has actually developed in a way that makes sense.

On a train today so will go over other posts after the shot in more detail this evening or tomorrow.

I’m town reading Tubba for stuff that they posted just beforehand. Don’t think scum would post about feeling disconnected and then purposefully trying to get a grip into the game like that. Feels off the cuff and non-agenday.

    Hm. So why 1053 @xequalsy?

Gonna be honest. 50% faction guessing, 50% lurking scum read.

Sorry for not posting yesterday - spent a lot of time travelling. Gonna be another busy day for me, but I’ll try and get some detailed rereading going even if I don’t get to post again.

Been kinda waffling on what to do with this, but let’s go with this.

Eh I guess? It’s fairly barebones but it was mostly about how you felt super on the periphery with your first couple posts, but then turned that vibe around and actually got stuck in and engaged with people without any real pressure on you.

Up to page 17 now - I like Chris’s catch on Shin, but to be honest the muddle of LW and Shin waffling on it makes me come out of it with more of a town read on DV (for being the one to actually push and prod and attempt to resolve it) and Chris over any actual read on Shin.

The actual thing I wanted to ask Shin though was his comment about Rod’s ability as being a “day-vig”. Why did you assume that someone you scum read (repeatedly said through questions by DV etc...) had a “day-vig”?

    ??

    Vote:Shinichi

Not really feeling Tubba so far, but that might be because I skimmed over his later posts in D1 dunno.

I'm fairly baffled at xequalsy's town lean on me from as few posts as I have.

    Vote Gentleman Johnny

What’s baffling about it? I’ve basically read through the first 13 pages and all of d2 in detail and skimmed the rest of d1, so if you drop off between that post I liked d1 and d2 then Shrugs

Working on catching up another couple pages.

Sorry, wanted to get another 10 pages in before my flight, but I managed 3. Phone posting so forgive readability.

On Cantrip - I got the impression in the first 10 pages they were a bit passive and sitting back. E.g. “someone else can be on the throne” I quite liked their pop in later on. I disagree with a couple of the questions/points but I like they’re probing and engaging with multiple people. Town-lean for Cantrip.

I like some of KJ’s points so far, but I really dislike their progression on RE. After the prod on RE being passive, the hedging on their RE read doesn’t read as townie to me.

    Also:

    Unvote

Haven’t caught up to why Rod is voting Sir Chris yet, but I don’t find him particularly scummy so far.

Probably won't get caught up fully today, but couple things stuck out to me in the first 10 pages:

Since we now know both HR/Last were town, I was interested in seeing the reactions to their exchange early on. RE comes out of it feeling town-y overall to me. I liked the quiet confidence when they got pushed by multiple people, plus I like them weighing in on HR/Last.

Lngrr stuff - +town on tom/Chris the most for thinking about why Lngr would claim. Not too sure on what to think of DV slot yet - I like the boldness, but not sure if that is AI at all.

People I'm kinda interested in when I'm reading the next couple pages - Cantrip/Tubba.

I’ve tended to write massive walls before whilst catching up, and I don’t think it’s actually that helpful (and takes me forever) so I’m trying to change it up this time.

Probably gonna just comment on the main wagons yesterday for now and go from there, but if you guys have something that you want me to look over, I’ll try and do that too.

    (Back to rereading)

Hey everyone, I told Shadow before I replaced in, but I'm V/LA with limited posting from the 21st-29th. It's not ideal since D2 seems to end on the 30th, but I'll try to phone post whilst I'm away and participate.

I vaguely was skimming the thread whilst stuff happened, but I'll try and catch up today and tomorrow before I head off.

Solid Limited card (basically monored Piston-Fist Cyclops with upside). Cant see it landing in my Depala EDH deck. Not a huge fan of the trigger being automatic- one of the best thimgs about Vehicles is they survive Wraths.

This still survives Wraths. Just can choose not to cast an instant on the turn a player might wrath.
