"And then you kill it with fire from a good, old-fashioned, American-made M1A1 flamethrower, a fine weapon responsible for killing many Nazis in the actual World War II."
Glorifying the killing of people is cool now, apparently - just don't make fun of cosplayers.
Correct assumptions?
I'd like to bring 1 or 2 Ghost Quarters into the sideboard for Eldrazi / Tokens but I don't think I have anything I'd want to cut for them. Has anyone here faced Eldrazi yet? How'd it go?

An interesting interaction came up for me yesterday, I'm glad I caught it. I was facing Zoo (might as well have been Burn, I couldn't tell yet) and he swung at me with a Goblin Guide and Swiftspear. I had an Abrupt Decay on hand and a green source + BG fetch on the table. My plan was to fetch up my Swamp for 1 life and take out the Swiftspear - I almost let the Goblin Guide trigger resolve but quickly stopped myself and fetched for the Swamp first on the off-chance that the Goblin Guide reveal would make me topdeck the only Swamp in my deck and subsequently force me to fetch+shock myself. Something to keep in mind when you're running singleton basics against Burn / Zoo
What's the next step for this deck? I don't think OGW is gonna give us anything useful.
I also have to second what chaos021 said - Vault seems to be very underestimated. Lifelink and deathtouch do a LOT of work.
I see what you're saying but that seems to be a fringe scenario. They'll always be able to try again because they run what, 4x Exarch and 3x Twin versus your 2x Abrupt Decay? One Decay isn't gonna keep em off the combo forever anyway so what's the point in worrying about it? It's all about delaying them whilst having threats on the board. Twin has the better late game.
As such I personally don't think adding a 7th mana dork and a non-fetchable checkland that doesn't allow you to open up with said manadork on turn 1 is the solution... But please let us know! It's always good to test - I think this deck is seriously underrated in the current meta.
Yeah, I run 1x Abzan Charm instead of Painful Truths, it seems so much better to me. Still just a one-of though, doesn't keep me from going into topdeck mode around turn 4-5.
And that's the only thing bothering me about this deck at the moment - we're in topdeck mode a LOT. Not quite sure what to do about this just yet.
Switched out one fetchland for a Vault of the Archangel as well, it was a welcome sight today but needs more testing.
I used to run 1 Vault in my build with KOTR - a beautiful combination if you can pull it off. I think it's another meta call - if there's gonna be a lot of grindy matches then I'd say Vault is the better choice. If you're just trying to run your opponent down as fast as possible, Gavony is key.
good points, will give them a shot. thanks!
