    @whocansay

You’re not wrong, but I feel like almost everything in BG meets the criteria of immediately impacting the game state in a meaningful way, no?

Dark Confidant does nothing the turn it comes down. Goyf does nothing. Tracker does something minorly impactful sometimes. Ooze does something impactful sometimes. Kalitas does something impactful sometimes.

The only permanent in this deck that immediately has an impact on the game state is Liliana, and I think the deck would be absolutely unplayable without her.

Playing cards that don't affect the battlefield the moment they come down is probably just not what you want to be doing in Modern right now.

It's very slow, a terrible topdeck, and control decks don't care about it as much as they used to.

Why would you run 3x Bitterblossom right now? It seems pretty bad in the current metagame, even as a one-of.

3 LOTV, 1 Kcom, 1 Ooze in an 18-land list is what I'd be more concerned about rather than the Blood Moon. Just replace it with whatever is good for your metagame.

So, I have a lot of doubts related whith the sideboard plan.

Grudge comes in against artifact decks, such as Whir and Affinity.
Apostle's Blessing comes in against decks that have a lot of removal for your creatures, such as The Rock, and decks that have a lot of board presence that you need to dodge, such as Humans.
Collective Brutality comes in against combo-based decks, such as Ad Nauseam, and is an all-star against Burn as all three modes are relevant.
Fatal Push comes in against decks that run creatures which demand an immediate answer, such as The Rock, Phoenix, and Humans.
Inquisition of Kozilek comes in against decks where you need additional discard alongside Thoughtseize, such as Ad Nauseam, Storm, Amulet (debatable), etc.

    Hello,
interested in the blueless decklist played by 2InTheBoard
Since you say you would remove the Blood Moon, what could be the bet option for this slot?
    Kozilek's Return?

    Thanks

Sure would be helpful if you posted the actual list.

Ballista ain't that good if you can't Traverse for it. It's amazing in those shells though.

As far as the edict card is concerned, that’s a good point about Shadow and “go-wide” strategies. They weren’t too excited about it on the Jund thread either it seemed, but that one I don’t understand as much. 'Lots of decks have lots of creatures, and giving the opponent a choice is bad'. Yeah, but it’s Jund. We’re one-for-oneing all their creatures as they put them down, mostly. The opponent’s side of the board really shouldn’t be that wide, if at all.

But there's still no need for an edict effect in Modern. There's no True-Name Nemesis or Sneak and Show here and when we do need an edict effect, LOTV has it covered. There's simply no room for a card like that. What would you cut for it in Jund? Push, Decay, KCommand? Never.

Triumph looks meager and too inconsistent. There's a reason edict effects aren't played in Modern outside of LOTV. We struggle with go-wide decks, not the narrow ones, so giving the opponent an option there is very counter-productive. I guess it's OK against Grishoalbrand but we're heavily favored there anyway.

Don't see any way we'd want Arcanist in a Shadow shell whatsoever. Same for Rampage, Dreadbore is better and sees no play either.

Infect, Skred, Ponza. If you're looking at decks that are actually competitive against the rest of the metagame as well though, Traverse Shadow is a decent contender.

Why don't you test a rule that makes starting or not starting a real decision, and not just "I hope to win the roll so I can start"?

What would a rule like that look like, in your opinion?

    How about this?:

I think this can be good in a Traverse list. You hope to connect once to get something back ocne you have sett up a grind situasion.

That just looks so much worse than Grim Flayer.

So if all the podcasts are right and Surgical isn't a good answer for Phoenix, and you're not worried about your Dredge matchup, do you just go zero grave hate and play a Rending Volley or two in your board?

So you can't hit Phoenix at all?

Or ban nothing, it wont fix things. See: KCI.

Yes it did. The KCI ban was aimed solely at taking out KCI and the braindead gameplay it promoted. This is exactly why Wizards banned it and they weren't ambiguous about it at all. Why keep bringing it up?

No reason for Emrakul to go anywhere for the time being unless UR Breach takes off out of nowhere for some incomprehensible reason.
