This just popped in my head and I thought it too interesting to ignore though it's more of a storyline concept than a block structure.

Perhaps it will be a block locked in a paradox where there is no longer a true beginning or end. There are effects in the first set caused by events wrapping around from the last, and the plane is continually recycling itself resulting in an eternal struggle. In that process, the plane is drawing mana from other planes like a temporal whirlpool, and a walker shows up to end the cycle and repair the flow. As it would be a battle for continuity there could be cards with lingering effects potentially altering certain cards played after them (like a reverse splice) in order to achieve a singular destiny.

One mega block spanning multiple years could have an interesting impact on block rotation.

If the new block lasts two years, we would have an extra year of Theros in standard before the next block knocks it out (a blessing to some and disdain to others). That is unless they just stick solid to two years and leave the format with a single mega block the following year. Though, you then run into the same issue on the backend of it. Do you keep it all together, or keep it to two years and rotate it out half and half?

If they hold two full blocks in that situation, they run the risk of too many cards in the format and a stale environment wit lingering sets. Hell, I can't imagine the havok a three year block would pose in that case.

I picked white and was stuck going U/W (which happens to be my least favorite color pair) because of lackluster pulls in the other colors. However, I had a great deck with plenty of control, flying, and heroic to go 3-1-1 into top 8 only to be immediately paired against the one guy who beat me in the opening rounds who repeated his success with a timely top deck Blinding Flare the turn before I was going to swing lethal for the match.

    My JOU top performers:
Dawnbringer Charioteers - I think this goes without saying.
Dictate of Heliod - This thing dominated every time it hit the board.
Dakra Mystic - Elegant. I got this out turn one in numerous games and directed them from start to finish.
Polymorphous Rush - Multiple game ender. Turning 2-3 guys into Charioteers with Dictate out happened more than once.

    My non-JOU top performers:
    Eidolon of Countless Battles
    Curse of the Swine

Top JOU cards I was on the short end of:
Blinding Flare - Killed me one game and crippled me in another. A cheap final push that does the job far too well.
Harness by Force - Similar to Flare, killed me when the guy took my Eidolon bestowed with a Nimbus Naiad as well as another critter when he already had 6-7 other creatures on board.

I would say a good 80% of the people there (26 total) played white with perhaps 70% of those folks picking it specifically.

The cards from the Battle Royale Box Set do not have a set number. The 6th Edition card has a set number 233/350 after the WotC copyright whereas the BR card does not.

For something really unique the block could grow or shrink with demand.

We'll get a regular large set in the fall, then each subsequent set in the block will be released dependent upon a sales threshold of the previous set. So, the faster people spend money on the current set, the sooner the next will arrive. Each set beyond the first will be a normal small set, but we can have as few as zero or as many as 10 depending on how much product people purchase.

Well, the point is to make a pretty bad card unexpectedly useful and make you opponent rage flip the table after getting beat by it.

And, with regard to EDH, I can't wait to have Repercussion in play when an opponent attacks one or two other opponents, and flash this in response to blockers.

You hit your own Boros Reckoner with the Fated Conflagration. It deals double damage (10) to the reckoner. The reckoner then flings the damage to your opponent and deals double damage (20) to them.

Boros Reckoner + Fated Conflagration says hi...

It probably won't be a thing, but the look on your opponents face could be too priceless to pass up.

I must confess... when I first saw the name of this card, before seeing the picture, the image that came to my mind was a plague of Fleetfeather Sandals.
