Yeah if we see more cards like party crasher it could be hilarious to see someone get hosed by a better counterspell post combat on anyone's turn. ๐Ÿ˜„

The event decks weren't really that bad. I bought one as is, sleeved it up, and won a couple local fnm tournaments. I can't say the same would be true for a new player, but but skill is a factor. Now, I didn't just buy one at random. I bought one I thought would be good against what I expected to see, but the decks had good cards and could win games against good player's.

Hey now, moldervine cloak might not work for the dredge deck but it's pretty sweet and my favorite dredge card. Of course haze Of rage is decent too. An extra power for your whole team for only 2 with storm AND buyback is quite good in limited. Now I can't say for sure there won't be an ascend card that's stupid enough to go crazy trying to set it off in constructed, but most things should be safe as long as you don't do a cheap tooth and nail or something crazy that's going to spawn a combo deck.

The other thing i realized is that there is no reason why each tribe couldn't have a different way of getting the city's blessing

Vampires - Ascend (need 10 permanents)
Dinosaurs - Stampede (need 10 toughness)
Pirates - Barter - (need a certain amount of treasure)
Merfolk - Evolve (need a certain amount of +1 counters)

    just a thought.
no, this is it. If it were worded as an ability word you could have it like that but as a keyword, every card will be 10 permanents.

Now as for the cards impact on commander, yeah, it is decent but people already play Wrath, Doj, and Damnation in the same deck and by the time you have 10 permanents you can usually cast plague wind/in garruk's wake for a better effect.it's a nice card but I'd save the outrage for some other theoretical ascend card that is truly going to warp the format. I'm not really sure it would be a slam dunk in commander even if the ascend effect we're the only one. Yeah 50% for all opponent's at instant for 3 is spicy but in a lot of my experience, people often enough have huge token swarms or one super threatening creature. I'm not really sure its actually even an ideal card to run.

I seriously doubt it works like monarch. That was a specific mechanic for an offbeat draft set and had a reason to work like that to encourage attacking in multiplayer. Ascend working like that would fly in the face of the legend/walker change, lords/slivers and the printing of mostly beneficial effects outside of wraths.

The more I think about it, the more I think most of he complaints about silver border in commander are kind of dumb. I mean if you won't want to do silly things like the hokey pokey, then you shouldn't play cards that involve it. I mean it's not like they're even good cards so if you run the silly cards, its because you want to be. Of course, if your opponent challenges you to a breath holding contest, arm wrestling, or whatever, you could just refuse and let them have their on curve or slightly below curve limited fodder. I mean really, are any silly cards actually good other than enter the dungeon? Does it really matter if you can't make a vanilla 4/4 for 3 filip right or throw a 6/6 for 7 with split second that might fight stuff properly? I mean who plays gruel ragebeast that much anyway? If you don't want to put your head on the table, you could just play the better vampire from commander 2017 or the black gearhulk. Who cares about he vanilla 5/5 gluteus maximus other than the cracks about how you can't stop touching your ass? I bet it's really the stuff like necro impotence and Jack in the mox that have the spikes up in arms about how it might affect power level. I'm personally looking forward to throwing cards, putting my head on the table, continuing to play rod of spanking, the infernal spawns, the monkey, etc.

Gleemax seems fine as a black bordered 7 mana artifact. Yes the effect is annoying but when you think about it, is it really that good? Sure it forces a board wipe to get rid of it but basically all it hoses in commander is targeted removal and targeted card draw. I doubt anyone would even play it anymore than grafdiggers cage or any other random Houser card.

I'm actually disappointed normal magic doesn't play with watermarks, collectors numbers, art, foils, etc on cards that aren't pushed. It opens up cool options for constructing decks. I could understand if you had to buy a certain version for the hot standard deck, but doing it in conspiracy, commander, etc. where they're only eternal legal should make it easy to cost them so they don't break into top teir decks but can be fun for casual.

I don't see how fractions matter that much especially in commander anyway though. Are there even playable fraction cards for the format? Infinity elemental, outside of a combo piece is also just a red Phage the untouchable and I never see the.card anyway. I like it since I'm the tummies Timmy around but I doubt its all that good or anything.

So is it final that silver border won't be allowed after the next update or is it possible that it becomes permanent if it proves popular?

Well, we do know that Emrakul is about 200 feet tall and 600 feet wide while the largest dinosaur is only about 200 feet long, but emrakul and Kozilek are supposed to be far larger than the other eldrazi. Of course, the most rediculously big dinosaurs walk on 4 legs, so that makes size comparisons a little weird with eldrazi who don't even have legs. It's not like a dinosaur can walk on the tip of it's tail or anything.

I actually realized it today that it's the biggest common creature ever and it's only one power short of Artisan of Kozilek, the biggest uncommon. Of course, the previous 2 record holders, Ulamog's Crusher and Eldrazi Devastator do have abilities.

Urza having normal eyes with pupils would be a mistake considering I can't find any other art of him where his eyes aren't white including the newer Urza's Rage from Phyrexia vs Coalition.

I don't think Urza's Head is dead. Death Grasp Urza has white eyes for some reason.

Having 100% scientifically accurate labels would piss people off as bay as the relatively accurate lore for kamigawa. Tarkir is how. Kamigawa should have been for the masses to like it.

I don't know if it's necessarily that underwhelming. A lot of the bigger vehicles have crew numbers of 3 or more. Crew 2 vs Crew 3 is a big deal in limited since most creatures have power 2 or less, especially below 4 mana. It also has really high toughness. You have to go up to crew 5 to find a higher ass on a vehicle. The vigilance can also be highly relevant in stalled boards since it has a low enough crew number that you will reasonably have more than one creature with enough power to crew it alone. I think this is actually a deceptively powerful card.
