I'd advise rector, it holds off a few attacks. I enjoy Lightmine Field as a way to pop her

That's fine, but my meta is too fast for Engine Sharuum to thrive. In a competitive environment, All Is Dust isn't worth playing when you need to be prepared to win or lose in the first 3-4 turns.

Yeah, I tried switching to engine and the more pieces I added the more I lost. It's the coolest build but at the serious tables you need AN and the counters and Silence and what not. It's the fine line of local competitive meta and what you'd need to be prepared for for side events.

I'll try and restart everything with a positive vibe aimed at the community. It isn't going to be quite as well written as I'd like, but I think this needs to come down ASAP before emotions start to dictate the direction of the discussion.

So, I believe that we as a community need to change the design for the top 50 list to cater towards casual players rather than looking at the entire broad scheme of cards. As of right now, I am entirely confident the greater part of our community cannot afford the expensive cards on the list, and many of them lean towards the competitive aspect. Of course, we don't wanna to see the list entirely budget-driven, but I think there's certainly a line that falls under "goes without saying," especially redundant cards like Timetiwster or Mana Drain that are just better than the attainable versions of the card. This of course, is a discussion that needs to happen at the same time or even before. I don't mean to propose we decide everything based on price, or even stop a 40$ or 50$ card from making the list. Tawnos's Coffin is a great example. It does have a 40$~ price tag (that shot up from 25$~ once tuck was cut), but it offers something unique you can't really do any more and would make from a great discussion/debate piece.

I think this would result in a lot more players coming here to vote for cards. They can participate in more discussions and probably have some kind of exposure to almost the entire list. They can actually go out and take action after reading the list rather than feel upset they have no hope in actually reaching the best cards. Now I know it can be said "not all deck needs them" or "you can play around it" but keep in mind this is a pretty respected website. Some people come to look at the forums even if they don't have an account. People may take it as rule of thumb, and I think that kind of dampers the format.
Leave it for reddit to discuss the best of the best and the focus on the high end games that end t2-t4. We should be focused on cards that're powerful and thought out for many levels of play. I think it requires a more in depth line of thought and dedicated experience to be able to make a list like this as well. I know at this stage crafting my competetive deck isn't the most challenging, it's trying to make a deck that scales in power with the meta.

I'm asking everyone in this community what they're accomplishing by keeping Timetwister on that list. Everyone here knows that you can't start an EDH deck with Moat or Imperial Seal or Timetwister because real-world people have real-world budgets. I couldn't care less what some arbitrary rules says because I'd rather help people than adhere to archaic rules that don't have any functional value.

I'm gonna back this. I understand the rules and all, but it sure doesn't foster the widest pool of new players to come and play. Seeing some of the top cards with triple digit price tags really pushes players away from the game. I think it'd evolve even better conversations and debates here because it removes the obvious. At this point, it seems like only those with these actual cards can even participate in the debate. I think it's safe to say the % of decklists on the site that can afford duals or fetch or what have you is a lot lower than those who can't- and I'd like to think our community should be more geared to helping them. A lot of these cards need some form of list like "goes without saying"

Ya, counter heavy decks are honestly the worst. I've never seen one win, just kind of mess with the board. It's one thing when Norin does it and its random and funny with that tinge of hope things still work out, but those decks thatre built to just say "no" with no real other plan are awful.

So in other news, the deck works pretty well. The artifact thing is cool and putting more pieces may not be needed given how many times I kind of had to choose. I probably need more games to make a statistic call like that, but it's already been noted. It wasn't a matter of clogging my hand- it was just wheeling or going on to draw was a better move. It makes me think Trash for Treasure may actually work out. I added Molten Psyche in place of Pyroblast, it's been pretty easy to wheel twice a turn, which has fed into wins in the past.

Here's the list. It isn't stax, but then again it's meant for metas leagues under what this list plays at. It's just fun because it has a lot of interactions and plays every kind of card. This leaves a lot of space to cut what you need to and add what you like. It isn't even really built to win as much as it is a kind of good stuff in the sense we're trying to maximize what we can do aand win with something powerful and unique.

I didn't say viability, just worlds apart. As in, theres no realm to really compare the two besides lore. I'm probably going to end up building her and keep this, I totally agree with stax and Mardu really hasn't had a good lead for it until now, which is pretty great.
