Game 1 I had a very strong hand, and dealt with his threats. Game 2 was long, but there was no pressure with his locking pieces, so I eventually won the grindy match.
Cheers for the games, hope to see you in the next one!
Now that my ban has expired I would like to ask you guys for help with my main problem with the deck: What the actual hell am I supposed to d against Soul Sisters? Is this just an instant-lose matchup for us or can it be won with the right sideboard cards? A friend of mine that I play again quite often has Soul Sisters and I literally lose like 95% of all games against him. I've tried 4 Skullcracks and 4 FotBH main and still didn't stand a chance. Not even Leyline of Punishment helped. Halp me pls!!
Well is leyline didn't work thats pretty much your best tool except maybe rain of gore, I would say the best way to play it is to bolt martyr whenever they don't have the mana to sac it and try to ride creatures to victory. You are most likely not going to get there with a "pure burn hand" and need the creatures to consistently do the damage.
My problem is that as soon as they get Auriok Champion I just lose, because she can't be bolted and can chump our dudes for eternity... :/
Edit: It's also not a Martyr deck but a Soul Sisters deck without Martyr and with 12 Soul Sisters, a lot of tokens and Archangel of Thune. I know it sounds weak, but I always, always lose.
If you're running Grim Lavamancer, it allows you to be slightly more aggressive in using your Bolts as removal. The key to this match-up is to not let Soul Sisters get out too many creatures at once. Volcanic Fallout is another card that can be considered for Burn, especially if you're playing against Affinity/Soul Sisters/Merfolk.
So just as a quick question for everyone, does everyone agree that for sideboard, Destructive Revelry is better than Wear // Tear, because i am currently running mardu/dega burn and i am not sure whether or not the additional splash for green will be better or will it hinder me
Touch and go, really. Adding Green does cause a considerable strain on the mana base, especially if you're solely reliant on a single green source. It can also be worse than Wear // Tear when playing around Spell Snare or Spellskite.
I like running it myself, as it's a decent out to Leyline of Sanctity that also deals damage. Still haven't done extensive testing on how the mana base works out with it, but running RWBg has somewhat forced me into running Gemstone Mine to allow more green sources that can cast Bump in the Night or Boros Charm.
I'm solo testing my r/b list with 24 bolts and get more turn 3-4 kills. I don't even anticipate that my opponent is using fetches or shocks. Just counting from 0-20 with my attacks and bolts. Def quicker now. Thinking about r/b list with 2 foundry/maybe s. Grounds and sb hate for leyline.
24 being Lightning Bolt, Lava Spike, Rift Bolt, Bump in the Night, Shard Volley, and Collateral Damage?
That should be the 24 bolts.
I'm not a fan of Collateral Damage in Burn. It feels like we don't have enough creatures to run it, and we don't generate enough value when casting it.
I still owe Speedbump a game, but I'm locked up until the 20somethings of December as the semester ends and I do everything in my power to secure graduation.
Graduate first. I'll try and brew something up for January. I'm tempted to host a Legacy tournament, and help run a Modern one around then.
Really sorry guys, I just defended my Thesis this morning and have been fully absorbed in that the past month...I agree with taking a hiatus this month, as I know I will not be able to fully involve myself with the IQ until after American Thanksgiving at the soonest.
Hopefully I will have more time next calendar year to work on getting this IQ back up and running smoothly, If you would like to help with that please PM me because I will need some assistance.
Thanks All!
I can run them from December, if you need a hand with that.
Actually, I'm willing to drop if it expedites things. Looks like there's not really much of a need to fight over first place given the circumstances...
Doesn't matter if either of us drop TBH. I'll drop to make things easier, although I do want to play it out once I'm done with exams.
I'm in for November, will have to get my opponent to wait until after my last exam on the 5th.

Match-up seems quite heavily in my favour, and one card pulled heavy duty in game 2 to seal it.
PM sent, let me know which timezone you're in, so I can organize a suitable time on the way to work tomorrow.
Only way to get around Auriok Champion is to get them to block when you hold Skullcrack, or to play Rain of Gore.

I'm sure I can work something out, but it's a case of 10-12 hours difference.
