Press F for Gideon. In all seriousness, Wizards had probably ran out of ways to make "this planeswalker is a an X/X creature with indestructible this turn" interesting.

If you have the sac the creature at the beginning of the end step, that means you can grab a creature at EOT then attack with it after untapping on your turn right?

Wait... So this lets you cast planeswalkers and creatures at instant speed? That's pretty gross.

Perfectly fine and fun bulk rare.

Maybe this gets better with context, but this seems like an intentional powering down of planeswalkers. I'm all for it frankly, I don't want anymore Teferi's for a little while.

This too. I hope they get back to posting some plot relevant stories on the mothership. I fill like they're doing the equivalent of an Anime filler arc.

Holy crap. This seems savage in older formats. If I'm reading it right, this basically locks down everything from moxes to Force of will to Cascade to elf Mana.

This thing is way worse than Walking Ballista. The ballista can fire at anytime, this can't fire unless you have mana to spend and it doesn't have summoning sickness. It's recurring, but c'mon this is way too slow to make any constructed noise.

Mark me down as a fan. I far prefer planeswalkers with Niche functions like the recent Tezzeret and Jaya over the "play them if you run the colors" planeswalkers ala Chandra and Teferi. It's nice to see planeswalker you can't just blindly jam in a deck.

This spell is literally attached to a 2/2 body in the same set, never mind that it's way overcosted compared to every other baseline. Why was this printed??

It's just the tale of Goldilocks rummaging through a cottage she finds in the woods and breaking things by mistake (hence the trygon effect) only to find out that the cottage is owned by three bears (a baby, mother, and father) and that she done messed up.

You missundernstood me. It's a fine creature, but I expected something cheaper, spectacle-linked or just not that randomized. Not broken, but more playable. At this moment, anyone would play Doom Whisperer rather than this one.

I'm pretty disappointed. It's not that it's a bad card, but it's boring as a commander, and adapt is a boring guild mechanic.

I don't even care about the card, I'm hyped for story implications

Defends himself? Check.
Creates advantage? Check.
Game-winning ult? Check.

Seems solid, especially in a artifact-heavy combo or control deck. He fills the board with blockers and helps you get the cards you need faster. If you manage to get his ult off, you get a free card every turn, which can get you one step closer to your grand combo or pull your finishers out of the deck for free. Superfriends could totally use this card.

I find it humorous that this is a response to a 2 drop with the ability to give another creature +2/2 by simply being cast and another +4/4 while being a 4/4 body later (post removal) as bad since it's not "attacks" too or as the other guy suggested trample or haste...

Magic doesn't always need to be stronger and better than the previous set or cards to be fun or played. If you constantly increase power you will end up with a game that's unplayable.

I remember arguments about reprinting Savannah Lions and people saying never White Weenie would be too powerful. Than they printed a 2/2 with the drawback of being legendary. Than the once famous rare became an uncommon and now we print 2/1's with abilities because they were "good" enough.

Similarly when they printed a 3/3 for 2 manna people lost their minds with Watchwolf. Didn't take too much longer before we needed 3 power creatures with abilities to be considered playable.

In a format where you can go T1 2/1 into this swing for 4 and later swing for 6+ while making a 4/4 is somehow bad? Not good? Unplayable?

What do people want from WotC? Goyf creature in every set? Would this be playable as a 3/3 for GG? Would that make you happy? Perhaps a 3/2 with trample? I mean at what point do you say "okay that's enough".

Before you know it we're going to have to make a rule change on life totals because 20 isn't enough time to play a game of magic as too many games are done before turn 5 now of days. Kind of sad if you ask me.
