I've had massive life things going on, but I'm not an active poster really anyway, more of a lurker. What's you Esper list looking like Chaos? I'm still on Esper, but haven't looked at standard in a month and a half at least

I like it Jon, not a bad idea. I'm probably more inclined to go towards Dreamstealer though.

I was also playing a yahenni's, so that's probably part of the reason too, but kingpin is also easier to cast early (in my exp).

I took a list based off unhly's list to my Super Sunday. I have 1 opt, 1 search, 1 settle no vraska's and none on the ixn lands.

I ended up going 2-1 beating gr dinos 2-0, and jund minus counters 2-1 (mulled to 5 and kept a 3 lander, only drew lands in my loss) and lost 0-2 to vamps (no black mana g1 and g2 I brought back the wrong card with Scarab in response to an exile effect).

I got a lot of mileage out of Fumigate all day (replaced 2 settle)
Cast Out was great.
Scarab us still house.
I liked Search even though I only had one, I drew it heaps.
1 of Approach was sweet.
I still think 4 Glimmer is correct even with Opt and Search, but maybe I just felt that way because I as running 4 Glimmer, 1 Opt, 1 Search and 2 Will as my draw/selection.
Never got to cast Settle.

Edit: Also played the 1/4 for ub over gifted aetherborn (only own one) and I honestly liked it more, due to not dying to strike, but death touch is nice..

Just wanted to say thanks for such a great thread. I'm looking into 5c siperfriends as an addition to my edh decklists.

Has anyone tried Ramos, Dragon Engine in their commander spot? He's what I'm looking at currently. I just think the mana aspect could be quite good, or would I be better to be focussing on land/artifact ramp only?

How did your sorin and bolas testing go?

I feel the same way re: mono r. I draw enough b mana and some removal, then I win. I like the option of tendrils though for scroungers and zombies..actually..scarab God... I see what you mean haha. Why bontus over fumigate? Because it's cheaper? I think the mana not untapping is an issue in that matchup.

Big reason I'm playing her is I loved her as a 1of and my meta is..well was last time I could play std, either hyper aggro or control. There was no in between.

I changed it up slightly from last time. I dropped 1 Blessed Alliance for another To the Slaughter. I also dropped Flaying Tendrils for Essence Extraction. Kefnet is questionable right now. I didn't really know what else to put there. Contraband Kingpin does a ton of work against Ramunap Red.

I'm also considering Hour of Glory for my sideboard as well.

Look pretty solid. I like it. I really liked Kingpin, more than Authority I think, just bc it's a w splash and they also have to invest in a burn spell to kill it.

Any suggestions for my list? Post 1191 (near top of page).

EDIT: Why drop tendrils? I'm looking to get a tendrils back in the main.

I am unsure on the mb alliance and pull. Pull because it's more draw power that illumination.

Sideboard:
Unsure if the mana can support the authority. Do I need more hub? Add wilds?
Unsure if fumigate and tendrils are the correct wipes. I'm kinda worried a little about go wide and hydra decks. Or just big creature midrange.
Would love to fit in a negate and summary dismissal/overwhelming denial but unsure where. Maybe doomfall? I do like the unconditional edict though.

I think the correct term I meant was card advantage. Will is selection and cycling is redraw. If you follow what I mean.

It was. Sorry, using quotes is a pain for me atm. Only have a phone. You also run wilds, don't you? I have 9 W sources, 6 cpt t1. I'll see how it goes in my rebuild. You still run 2 kalitas too, right?


Looks ok Jon, I dislike only 3 draw spells. I also dislike maxing out on counters, due to them not being great when you are being beaten down already. Maybe 1 downfall over a counter? I'm really interested in how the desert works out!

How often are you able to drop it t1 or 2? Chaos and I are kinda UBw (anguished, vents and alliance with me having sorin on top on that). I don't want to distort my mana base too much for it either. So that's my issue.

My amonkhet cards finally arrived today. So hoping to get a rebuild happening for the weekend. Will post soon hopefully.

I'd disagree with the "some relevant abilities". Got a lot of milage out of all 3 abilitiez in the past 2 weeks (rebuying hulk and kalitas - granted not often, but not that rare either). But yes, her main advantage is jamming her t3, and slowing the game down with a basically game ending ult.

Splashing w and r seems greedy tbh. I'd test with sorin over bolas to see which one you like more. I think without lili, 2 God and 2 walkers could work, but have to be careful about curve.

Lili rotates? Isn't it just battle and oath?

EDIT: just looked it up...i hope we get some good early non red removal in the next set...i don't enjoy playing red in std (outside of purphy, when he was legal). Hazoret looks like he will be quite the force after this rotation depending on what removal we get..

I hadn't thought about going +blessed in the board instead...seems like something to try. I'll free sb slots too.

Also, how are people boarding vs red? Keep 1 or 2 negate? For Chandra. I'm also debating a sorcery speed pw kill spell, mainly due to keeping in unmaking vs red seems weird, but it answers hazoret and Chandra.

Anyone running lost legacy/disposses?
