Time for me to share =)

What's going on with the top of your frames? Intentional?

First off, I am huge fan of MSE. Keep up the good work!

But, I am having an issue with the MSE Templates for Double faced Planeswalker and Sparkers (Regular double faced cards and the sacrificers work).

Under the console tab, my error states that my magic.mse-game version is out of date, and that version 2012-01-22 is required, yet I cannot seem to find an installer for the current version. Any leads?

Yes, somehow, you've managed to not install the magic game file update that was packed in. If you intentionally didn't do it, which I doubt based on what you've said, then you need to go back and do it. If the installer just failed to on its own, I detail a couple of possible solutions in the FAQ section of my template index (the thread with all the pictures in spoilers).

I've looked and looked and the Template I would like to use is not out there.

The set I'm working on will be using DFC's but I'd really like to have ones that transform from creature into planeswalker.

I have no idea how to make the template nor do I have the time to dive into it. Is there anyone that could/ is planning something like this?

It already exists, and you've missed it. On my template list, look for a "sparker" template. There's also a sacrificer that goes the other way.

I just have the spoiled images, which I was going to try and blank/scale to the appropriate sizes. I'll give it a shot and then maybe we can talk. Smile

I'm just simply not skilled enough to blank, myself. I can do simple image manipulations, but I don't have it in me to blank cards.

I'm always on the look out for new stuff like these hero's path cards or fuse splits, but unfortunately, the digital artists on site are not as giving with psd files as in the old days.

Here's a link for a bunch of templates that actually work. I've only downloaded my templates from this page since reinstalling and I have the color identifier, but I couldn't tell you which patch specifically I got it from.

At this point, almost any of them will give you identifiers. Although, only a few styles, like magic-new, will actually use them.

    Thanks for answering.

I've contemplated hacking it onto the token template by just replacing one of the other sets temporarily, but getting the text color right would be more difficult.

Templates look a bit messy to create from scratch.

You speak as if you have a frame. If you have a frame, I can easily and happily make a template to use it.

Frames are what stops me - I do not have the artistic skill to generate blanks. But I can write MSE script like no other. Smile

Is there a Hydra deck set of templates or color schemes for MSE? The Heads seem to use the token template, but the colorscheme isn't in the token template set.

Not that I'm aware of. And I would know. Smile

A quick question. I'm designing my own set on MSE, but I wanted to use phyrexian mana. However whenever I go on the MSE website and try to open and additional templates, I get an SQL error. Anyone got any idea what's up with the site/when its back up/anywhere else I can download the extra mana fonts?

It's funny - even if they turn out to be inaccurate, I sort of like the idea of an early version of the template like this. Kind of like a snapshot of the history of Theros reveals.

I had a couple of questions i was hoping someone could answer for me. I'm trying to generate hires cards with MSE, and I found a REALLY good template that saves everything in the right size, problem is that there's no box for the card type (i.e. artifact, creature, land, ect). whenever I click on where the box would normally be it just gives me the option to change the frame of the card. The template I got was from the MSE boards, but I don't see anyone else having this issue. Just wondering if there's another place to get hires templates from.

No help to offer on symbols, but I can tell you what's wrong with the hi-res template. The hi-res template isn't compatible with my newer templates for things like DFCs and Miracles. My templates prevent the modern hi-res template from functioning, and I have no intention of changing that, as I'm firmly of the belief that the hi-res template should never have been released.

    Sorry.

Thats actually really awesome to hear, MSE is a great tool.

Maybe we should do some side bar collaboration on the topic. I know we've talked infrequently on the MSE forums. I have some interesting thoughts for template designs, but in all honesty, I've never figured out exactly how templates work (I'm more of a designer then a developer)

I'd love to hear what you have to say, about template ideas in general, not just necessarily these icons.

If you PM me anywhere or start a thread on the matter on either forum, you'll catch my attention. Smile

I want to let you know that while I don't have DotP to help you, I really appreciate what you're doing here.

I think I'm going to make these into an enhanced symbol font for MSE as part of a new project I'm going to start on, making them available as symbols on custom cards.

Is there any way to directly save card art from downloaded .MSE files to my computer?

Obviously I could just copy/paste the art into Paint and save from there, but is there a better way?

    No, there is not.

I know that MSE uses the same sorting priority that Wizards uses for Magic. But for some strange reason I have a few cards in my custom set that are out of order. For example, the first card in my set is a white card that starts with "S" even though I have other cards that are white that would obviously come before it alphabetically. I am using the High-Res Modern Template if that matters. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is there something weird about any of them? Are all the cards in the same template? Any of them special rarity? Does the card that comes first have a colorless frame or something of that nature?
