    Using a D20 for only 2 options feels like a total waste. It's the exactly rate of a mundane coin flip. I get it's not functionally equivalent in this set but c'mon.

    That is not actually true, if you are using a fair dice. There are 9 numbers from 1 to 9 and 11 between 10 and 20. So it is 11/20 for the good outcome while only 9/20 for the bad part

    The attack trigger on Tarrasques is not optional, so they cant attack you with Tarrasques if you got no other creatures than this but you can attack them...

    I would guess they are just using these ability words for flavor in this set. I think it is silly that it does not have the abillity of keen sense though, if they want to call it that.

    You make it sound like it is new. The grand creature type update in 2007 changed the type of 1167 creatures and there have been many other changes before and since. There were also other functional changes (apart from creature types) over the years, e.g. Oboro Envoy is quite nasty as printed but is a lot worse with its update. Heck, Orcish Oriflamme had one between Alpha and Beta! That said, I do agree that the companion fix was very much a big functional change which does suggest that they are more ok with it.

    Teferi actually got a HIGHER loyalty as well. 4 -> 5

    Some of them are very bad now. Fields is still solid though I think. Teferi is quite a bit worse: Against agro, you can't bounce 2 drop on the play (since 3 drop will then kill him). Against control, they can at least counter him now.

    Arguably, Phyrexian arena should also definitely/inherently have the subtype Phyrexian now!

    It would need tribal as well - subtypes are not shared between types (currently - not counting tribal, which just allows all creature types), so yu cant just add it as an enchantment type. I do not think WoTC has ever added tribal on a nonteibal card, even if it has a very strong flavor with just one type (e.g. there are quite a few cards that are associated with elves, but no elf type).

    Consecrated Sphinx is wellknown enough that it can be the unique phyrexian water marked card without the phyrexian type.

    The goal AFAIK was to get it out with 1 land and 2 moxes, to negate the drawback. It seems tricky to do so in modern and that is not taking into account that it is just not that far above the curve no more

    I dont understand completely from a color pie, design and phylosofical perspective why the hell the overload must be payed with white mana.
    Overload mean one-side mass destruction. But "destroy all creatures you don't control" as always has been a monoblack effect (see Overwhelming Forces, In Garruk's Wake Plague Wind, Dread Cacodemon, Rain of Daggers etc.). That makes sense since black is a selfish color that wants to win at any cost

    On the other hand, every single one white mass removal has always been symmetrical because it is in the color phylosophy the concept of balance, justice, order and equal retribution to everyone.

    Somebody please explain me why this card can't be monoblack and I am forced to use a color that would do as a result, the exact opposite of what said color should do normally.

    I think you missunderstand the card a bit. Notice, it can target your own creatures too (meaning overload is not one sided in this case) and Overload is an alternate cost (i.e. instead) - it is not an additional cost.

    Thus, for 2ww you get wrath of god (already a good card on its own) and for bb you get a single target removal spell. This card is quite obscene!

    I assume you are talking an EDH perspective and not modern - I seriously doubt a 5 drop that must use a tap abillity without haste matters at all there.

    It is a cute abillity, but it is not banable (at least from a power perspective). Like, compare him to Jegantha, the Wellspring. The latter gives 5 mana every turn with some restrictions on the mana. This gives you 3 mana (that admittedly can be saved) and requires you to jump through hoops to get more. I would say that it is similar in level to Jegantha, but Jegantha sees relatively little play, so I can't see this getting banned for the Black Lotus abillity. Naturally, the other options might be better or just as good, but still, they are not too unfair.

    I think it is fair to draw a parallel to Captain Sisay. She is also a toolbox commander, but she can go off on her own, cost less and her toolbox have better cards. She is missing colors though, but still.

    Two of those four cards does not work for that combo. Banishing Light And Banisher Priest can only target oppeonts stuff.
