Big purples/rares offer numerous first picks. Everyone will have at least a bomb in their deck.
Every draft will be skill intensive and each game will be full of unique surprises.
I might have missed something but isnt that kind of like oppoesit? You get a bomb out in limititet and you more or less win right there. Thats not skill intensive but rather pure luck. But I agree that the keywords will make it pretty skill intensiv (Hmm I got a lot of flashback cards, that meanes my threshold cards are worth less then normal and so on - on the other hands you wont get that many threeshold cards in any given deck because they are more rare then an normal rare...)
4/4 for 4 with no drawback is uncommon.....well, limited is going right into the garbage. Whomever gets the most broken cards wins.
edit: I don't even think I have to mention whoever pulls the Akroma wins the draft.
... I am not even sure she is a first pick (money reasons aside)... You didnt play 7 drops (atleast not most of the time) in Kamiblock and I cant even remember seing an hardcasted white Myojin (or more excatly I cant remember seing any) at all (8 mana mass removel + you start with an 4/6 is pretty nasty).
You simply didnt get that high in it and this might be the same (no signets/karoos etc.)
The throw back I was waiting for was actually a red, a black, and a blue rare incarnation. There was one of each uncommon incarnation. However, only white and green got rare incarnations because Judgement was so W/G heavy.
Regarding the purple reprints... I don't see any reason why we need to get the whole cycle. Filth, Valor, and Brawn all kind of suck.
Since incarnation isnt in the orb they wont print some new this time (or atleast not with creature type incarnation). But Valor has been confirmed to be in the timeshifted cards (I am not sure its a good sign for the others).
Btw. I think anger and wonder were good but valor is proberly the 3 (I would say it was better then brawn in most decks and filth needs a very wierd format (like swamps taps for BB? ;)) to be over 4...)
I played extend vanguard online and my oppeont played with the momir avatar. He hit a couple of 3 costing creatures and got an Sedge troll. It might be because its in TS or (more logical since its on the no-reprint list) its some promotion for something. I saved a Screen Shot but I wont use the time to upload it if I do not get some good reason to (btw. I will remove user info (nickname) of my oppeont if I do upload since I havnt asked him) - btw. since its from momir it will have some round "edges" around the picture...
Aspect of the Mongoose
GG
Enchantment - Aura
Enchant Creature
Enchanted creature can't be the target of spells or abilities.
Enchanted creature gets +X/+Y, where X is equal to half the number of cards in your graveyard, rounded down, and Y is equal to half the number of cards in your graveyard, rounded up.
GG. is it what your oppeont says then you play it or the casting cost? ;p
Oracle wording for balance has 2 'fewers'. Maybe the wording is being changed also? All the other main words, (same, except, way), all appear in the orb...
I thought abit about that. Isnt the second fewest redunadant? SBE doesnt check in the middle of a spell so the only thing happening is what apperers on balance... Even if a card removed all other permentans a certain player controls from the game once it left play it wouldnt be able to trigger before after balance finnised...
How many instances of spellshaper are there in the orb? 6. We know Jaya is one, which is appropriate. That leaves 5 instances. Are these Magi spellshapers? It could very well be... they turn the card into your hand into the artifact, and activate it by sacrificing themselves maybe? That allows them too get away with a much lower cost on the cards.
I think that would make the scroll and candelbra(discard 2 cards pay x+1 and untap x target lands with 1 turns delay... Thats pretty bad) abit subpair for that cycle...
Perhaps they make you discard an card then they come into play? It would make an pretty fine additional drawback for the cards...
Unfortunately, "Psychasliver" has no results in the orb. 0 for Mongrel as well, so no sliver mongrel. What are some other iconic creatures that aren't already being put on a totem?
Kird sliver!!! Ok thats pushing it :D...
Perhaps some incanation kind of slivers? It would be kind of net. Instead of them working while in play why not make a few that worked then they wasnt? they could even up the power lvl a bit because they wouldnt pump it self.
Heck we could even get one that had "this got all abillities of any sliver in any graveyard". Would be net I think
This is the most well thought-out speculation I've seen in quite a while. Good work. The idea is plausible with all the other stuff going on in TS.
The power level of the abilities is insane, thay always were. But candelabra (as an example) on a stick is WAY less scary then on a cc1 artifact, even if it came on a 1/1 for G (wont happen, 2GG for a candelabra on a stick is WAY more likely).
Really its not that scary in std at all. It might as well say: this tap for 1 for each karoo you got in play and it can function as an mana fixer (it wont tap for more then 1 before turn 4 and that requires alot of named cards (as in turn 1 forest, this. turn 2 tap forest some kind of green karo untap the karoo play rampant grow/farseek/into the north (no STEve anymore) turn 3 tap the land you found and play a karoo, untap your 2 karoos... you now got 5 mana (like any other double accel before turn 3)... turn 4 replay your forest from turn 1 and tap for 7 thats 1 more then normally and it requires a hand with this, a forest, 2 karoos (one with green), a rampant grow-kind of card, and an 5 and an 7 drop... thats not really impresiv...
Ok I could see it in Tron if they made some good green (non-basic) land fetch...
I love the attemp but i cant help but find it broken like hell, first turn three mana? so basicaly play this, tap it cast Orzhov signet and still have enough mana for a castigate?
my idea:
Urza's Ruins
Land- U
:symtap:: Add to your mana pool.
:symtap:: Add to your mana pool for each land you control with the word Urza's on its name.
its lame i know, just an idea.
Not really lame but I think they would have worded it differently (seeing as they shifted to the types) so:
Urza's Ruins
Land- U
:symtap:: Add to your mana pool.
:symtap:: Add to your mana pool for each (of - sounds better but the template would proberly remove it) Urza's land you control
btw. it cant be type urza's ruin since we only got 2 urza's
Well ive got an idea......it could be somthign like this
Time Stroll
1U
Sorcery
Take another turn after this one.
Buyback-Dicard your hand and sacrafice all untapped permenents you control.
heh,.. Its the first time Ive seen a card that ends the game on turn 2 (assuming your oppeont got 0 1 drops...)... (turn 1 land, some creature turn 2 attack play this with buyback...)
Guardian Beast
As long as Guardian Beast is untapped, noncreature artifacts you control can't be enchanted, they're indestructible, and other players can't gain control of them.
Orb:
enchanted = 18, fine
gain = 11, good
untapped = 3, no problem
artifacts = 1, possible
indestructible = 1, still possible
noncreature = 0, and its out.
No Guardian beast totem, no suprise
But what is it then?
Urborg stalker. Its just very bland I think... I hope they infact made it guardian (over stalker) because stalker is so borring...
Faerie Noble % no Faeries Fungus Elementa
no ability Master of the Hunt
no bands Tracker
only 3 Tracker... The abillity uses 2... Weatherseed Treefolk
It would need to be a Treefolk totem and then turn into Weatherseed Treefolk to add up (4 treefolks 3 weatherseeds) Wood Elemental
no forests (with s) Wormwood Treefolk
3 wormwoods to 2 abillities but it might be a Treefolk totem...
3 forestewalkers and some swampwalkers

Hand of Justice

0 3WUG Thunder Spirit
bland
8 first

Guardian Beast
(not posible but hey its still my hope :)) Ivory Gargoyle Subterranean Spirit (I *think* goblin wizard might be a bit to nasty and I cant figure out how to word echo on a totem without weaking the mana producer (at the beginning of your next upkeep pay its manacost?)
I dont really care about the green creatures left (except I hope its not weatherseed because it would be pretty close to ivory gargoyle...) and we allready know blue.
The "cannot be regenerated" clause is almost superflous - because he cannot regenerate as a reaction to the spell. This clause is only useful, if the opponent sets up the regeneration shield, before you even announce "Murder".
This clause should be removed - because without it, it could lead to random regeneration... that's fun.
it wont lead to random regen, since if he tries to regen you can always murder in response. Now if it costed 2B and was a socery...
Annother thing. If they made Quick Beast (as far as I can see the flavor is that its so fast it can come out of nowhere (flash) so fast they cant hit it (untargetabillity)) I hope they would add haste (like Raging Kavu) - It would increase the power lvl a bit (not that much) but I think its ok...
Time Stop - brining the universe to a halt, and then suddenly resuming normal time (disrupting the casting of spells... somehow). This one always got me because it doesn't really 'stop' time as much as it skips time.
I think you should look at it abit like time stop in D&D. In D&D you stop the time and you are then the only one able to move for a given amount of time. I think the reason it doesnt say "Its your turn" (which would be more "right" from my pow) is because it might be to annoying in multiplayer because you might end up always jumping over a certain player...
Unless of course you activate the ability between first strike and normal combat damage. Then it's 13 and a hand, also known as ouch... Though I don't know if the rules allow for that.
The rules doesnt allow that... Ok, allow is the the wrong word since the differnation of first strike is that every attaking creatures with first strike or double strike deals damage there and normal damage is every attaking creatures that didnt do first strike damage or have double strike. Since it loses double strike it cant do the other part. On the other hand it might work if you change it with normal damage on stack (since it first triggers then it actually does damage...)
As someone else got in a sig somewhere: this is time spiral not pizza spiral so Laquatus could be back
