I love Delver of Secrets and Young Pyromancer so I would like to try out something with those. Toss in Skullclamp and Treasure Cruise and I would think you had a pretty solid core. Anyone have experience with something along those lines?
from the sound of things it's probably going to be either eye of ugin or eldrazi temple.. and i think that's going to be a mistake.... if i was a betting man i would say it would be just temple as that's the path of least resistance....
i think the eldrazi deck will still be T1 with just one of the sol lands and particularly eye.... it will look a lot different but it will probably be like affinity with mox opal...
Banning Temple along with Mimic or Seer would probably be fine.
Well, the Eye is very obnoxious so a ban would be helpful.
Bloodbraid Elf has no business being banned anymore now that Deathrite Shaman is on the list.
When they unban anything blue it is probably Preordain.
I think it is more likely Ancestral Visions is being unbanned, though Preordain isn't unreasonable.
A while back, I was playing an EDH game with a couple of friends and I had my Spine of Ish Sah go to the graveyard from the battlefield. In response to the GY trigger on Spine, I activated my Goblin Welder to bring it back into play. One of my friends argued that Spine would go from the battlefield to the hand, as the GY trigger resolved, whereas I believed the GY trigger would fizzle and the Spine stay on the battlefield. I ended up returning it to the hand, since I didn't feel like arguing about it. It stayed on my mind however, and I later talked to a judge about it, who confirmed I was right.
I have then been looking through the comprehensive rules in order to have something to reference, in case the situation came up again. While I have found a part I believe is responsible for this behavior, I would like confirmation that this is indeed the case. In addition, does this rule also cover situations where something targets a permanent which is then flickered, using something like Restoration Angel or Eldrazi Displacer?
If the spell or ability specifies targets, it checks whether the targets are still legal. A target that’s no longer in the zone it was in when it was targeted is illegal. Other changes to the game state may cause a target to no longer be legal; for example, its characteristics may have changed or an effect may have changed the text of the spell. If the source of an ability has left the zone it was in, its last known information is used during this process. The spell or ability is countered if all its targets, for every instance of the word “target,” are now illegal. If the spell or ability is not countered, it will resolve normally.
Illegal targets, if any, won’t be affected by parts of a resolving spell’s effect for which they’re illegal. Other parts of the effect for which those targets are not illegal may still affect them. If the spell or ability creates any continuous effects that affect game rules (see rule 613.10), those effects don’t apply to illegal targets. If part of the effect requires information about an illegal target, it fails to determine any such information. Any part of the effect that requires that information won’t happen.
You know it's funny, reading through these old evaluations at Dark Confidant. Clearly no one knew how strong this card was and clearly nearly every comment on here misevaluated this card. This should be a lesson to give some cards a chance before saying "it's horrible."

Lets put it this way: if a card is worth more than ~100 dollars, don't expect it in this set. Force of will, Port, and JTMS will be the top of the curve. Even if the reprinted p3k cards were a third of the price they are now, they're still ridiculously high. I personally would like the value spread as far as possible, so I'm hoping, as much as I need a seal for my edh deck, that no p3k cards show up, as that'll be a great excuse for them to not include much else good in the set.
Portal cards are pricy because they are rare and the original printings would remain so. Compare the prices of Burning of Xinye and Rolling Earthquake, both from the Portal Three Kingdoms and both reprinted in FTV: Annihilation. The FTV printings both lie around $5, whereas the P3K printings are both above $75.
How does this go against Sigarda, doesn't her ability precisely stop this from happening?
If you control Sigarda, Host of Herons and an opponent casts Clip Wings, you do not have to sacrifice a flier. Stuff on the stack is generally controlled by the person who put it there.
What's wrong with Scion as a commander? I've been playing it as a toolbox deck to pretty good success, though admittedly we're pretty casual in my group when it comes to EDH.
Sorry, my error, I meant confiscate or Faith's Fetters effects (Auras), not D sphere effects. The targeting of auras occur when cast, when something is put into play you don't target, you just attach (much like a germ token and living weapon equipment). If the enchanted permanent has protection the enchantment drops off.
Thus you can confiscate or fetters a troll. I have done it a few times to surprised opponents, and it once happened to me playing Troll worship when an aura did not control got blinked out and came back on my Troll. I will edit the above post accordingly.
I also did not realise you had difficulty with the Worship aspect, I thought you meant Trolls. Worship is d sphere-able, O ringable, Truth able etc. Or you can just Wrath and do a point post Wrath!
Worship isn't too bad to play against, it was just a minor point that made me go with Wrath of God instead of Supreme Verdict, even though I have the colors for Verdict.
