So far there is no one to actually play against so that never came up. No idea in short but I'd just leave it at 10 for now.

Love your reply and most of this is not mine but numbers and rules that others believe works best. Personally, I believe that the life total doesn't need to change, but due to the lack of power within the format; unlike regular commander, the game will take longer to finish up. As for as anyone playing peasant/ pauper commander, not that I know of- with exception of two others who did for one game. Of the 4 of us, someone else didn't have a peasant/ pauper deck and only wanted to use his regular edh deck. Wasn't too bad of a game and we managed to do fairly well for the most part.

You're right, I should clean it up and make both separate, however, there has yet to be a common creature that I've seen that should be banned as a general. In general, cards like rhystic study are powerful because they are A. common, and B. powerful in what they do.

    Philosophy behind this...
There are quite a few different threads from which all are decent- but most if not all of them only talked about pauper commander while the only peasant rules I have found have been largely for 60 card formats with only house rules adopted for commander. Since this is a format full of common and uncommon cards, the power level for 90% or more of all the cards out there are weaker than what is in regular commander. In other words, boardwipes, tutor cards, hoser cards and combo cards are generally weaker all-around and level the playing field. The majority of the cards that cause problems within regular commander simply do not exist and do not cause the same amount or even type of problems. For example, Channel could be used, but the amount of cards that work well with it are cut in half due to rarity alone. So when combined with either the "no uncommons allowed" in pauper and "no more than 15 uncommons in your deck total" should keep cards like that from ever being a problem in the first place. Lastly the amount of "playroom" or "shenanigans" that are at the common and uncommon level are extremely low and usually have extreme requirements to use them.

I've decided to go ahead and to try and put down everything that I believe should make up the rules and what all should be included within them. These are my suggestions as to what the rules for pauper and peasant edh should be as there are none that are set in stone. I hope this will change it. Without further ado, I present to you the rules that I believe should be followed when playing pauper or peasant commander/ edh.

    Pauper EDH Comprehensive Rules List:
    1. Commander / General must be either an Uncommon or Common. It does not need to be a legendary creature.
    2. All other cards must have been printed as a common somewhere at least once before.
    3. Players begin the game with 30 life.
    4. If a player has been dealt 18 points of combat damage by a particular Commander during the game, that player loses a game.

    Peasant EDH Comprehensive Rules List:
    1. Commander / General must be either an Uncommon or Common. It does not need to be a legendary creature.
    2. Up to 15 uncommon cards are allowed to be within the deck- including the general but all other cards must have been printed as a common somewhere at least once before.
    3. Players begin the game with 40 life.
    4. If a player has been dealt 18 points of combat damage by a particular Commander during the game, that player loses a game.

Rules that apply to both pauper and peasant commander:
    1. Abilities may be used from the Commander Zone, but are subject to cumulative commander costs (+2 per each previous use)
    2. Commanders who are not Legendary are not subject to the Legend rule and all copies that are made of that creature are not considered Legendary.

All other rules that are not stated here follow the rules that here here

    Banlist
The following is the official banned list for commander games. These cards should not be played without prior agreement from the other players in the game, and may steer your playgroup to avoid other, similar cards.
    1. Sensei's Divining Top

    Discussion of banlist:
However, I personally disagree with much that has been said about the banned list for any peasant related commander games. However, for pauper, these cards are very strong.

sensei's divining top. This card is the perfect example of a powerful card that leads to adds too much and is virtually impossible to remove in pauper and only a little less difficult in peasant. krosan grip is about the only card to be able to remove it within that commander variation.

    Cards to watch out for:
Sword of the Meek is great, but is fairly strong in that it does more than 3 things- It is a combo piece, it is abused easily and lastly, it can fit into every deck. The last one isn't so much relevant, but it can be format warping if everyone plays that card along with Thopter foundry. However the reason why it's not currently banned is that it combos off best with only one card that only fits into esper decks.

    Generals to watch out for:
    Psychatog
    Bloodbraid Elf
    Invisible Stalker
    Mistmeadow Witch
    Azorious Guildmage
    Izzet Guildmage
    Lorescale Coatl
    Jace's Phantasm
    Shriekmaw
    Briarhorn
    Glareweilder
    Meadowboon
    Nevermaker
    Offalsnout
    Spitebellows
    Walker of the Grove

Found here is a good reason for why cards like these are not banned. I'm quoting ISBPathfinder on this
My own feelings for each that you highlited:

Jace's Phantasm - run graveyard hate and lockdown enchantments. There are like 20+ variants of Pacifism available and its all that it takes to stop this bugger. Beyond that there are tons of things like Master Decoy that can just tap him down as well.

Bloodbraid Elf - cascade isn't even good in EDH because the target that you get is so unpredictable. Even if you build around that in mind he is still little better than a draw effect on a creature with haste. You need to kill and recast him a lot to really benefit from the cascade much. I am not convinced in the least with this pick. This creature is far better in a 1v1, 20 life setting. There are too many things that delute it for multiplayer 30 or 40 life formats whatever you want to play it as.

Psychatog wait.... what???? this format lacks huge draw engines, he has no evasion, and there is no mass bounce to hand effects. He was only good because Upheaval was so crazy in 60 card magic. He lacks evasion and the card draw in this format is lacking. The only way I could even see this taking off is in some sort of self mill deck where nobody hates on their graveyard and lacks the ability to block / spot remove it.

Mistmeadow Witch solid by all means but I dont have any reason in particular that I think it is banworthy other than being a good value engine. Keep in mind that if you are playing with ETB creatures they cant really defend themselves with it's blink. Rush them first and dont let them establish a manabase.

Invisible Stalker very slow in general. If the deck runs a ton of ramp effects to power him up then target the artifacts / enchantments with your removal and just 3v1 them. This isnt a commander that can fight off 3 opponents and in general if you play the whole you can touch me game then opponents will curb stomp you for being lame. There are a ton of commanders that can race this guy for faster damage in general. Sure it is lame that it is so un-interactive but it also isnt that solid.

Azorius Guildmage - really nice solid control but I dont get how you get banworthy from this. Keep in mind that it takes tons of mana to keep abilities up and even then, if you are playing multiplayer you really cant control everything. Shroud / hexproof blow this guy up and you always have the option of just using spot removal before it flips to your turn and rolling through them.

Izzet Guildmage - possibly.... I have had a blast playing him and if considering banning him it would be for his ability to go infinite. Even then remember that you can push on him early and the heavy mana requirement abilities he has are hard to use.

Overall though I would like to hear reasoning for anything going on this list. Just having a strong board presence and a good set of abilities alone doesn't make any sense to ban them for that. The point of this format is to be able to use cool commanders that you couldn't otherwise play and if you take that away then you are just playing bad uncommons. If you can give me a reason as to why they should be banned perhaps I would listen.

Other cards to watch out for:
rhystic study- one of the best sources to draw cards in pauper and peasant games.
    Skullclamp- same as above
Sol Ring- would consider banning it, but it's been in every single commander product, so it should be fine in most every single deck. It's only banned in Dual Commander rules as it's considered to be "fast mana".

Other Links that I have used in trying to create official rules for both pauper and peasant commander.

I would very much like feedback on this on how to improve this.

Yeah I built a colorless pauper edh deck and while it's alot of fun, even with all of the mana rocks it was still hard to get going in the beginning. Will work more on this in the future though and see what I can come up with.

No, pauper/ peasant edh isn't dead yet thankfully as it's alot of fun for me to get into. Also this format actually is a great way to build decks out of cards that are normally crap or that would never be used in competitive play like the depletion lands or tooth of chiss-goria; however in a pauper deck with myrsmith as the general both of them are incredibly useful and provides a decent mana acceleration via turn 2.

So far, these are the pauper decks I have made....
    1. Young pyromancer (good enough to take on french decks)
    2. Myrsmith (same as above but is a bit slower but has more power in it)
    3. Trostani's summoner (peasant deck with lots of power and draw cards)
    4. Darksteel myr (really challenging but sadly the only way to make it decent is to turn it into a peasant deck and run infect in it)
    5. Nightfire (My discarding red/ black deck which isn't working out too well yet)
    6. Last but not least, my 5 color decks revolving around 3 of the only 5 eligible generals which is both alot of fun and hard to deal with if any of the combo pieces fall into place. It's made for some decent competitive multiplayer play)

Will make more but this is what I have so far. Will make more later as I've come across some incredibly sweet guys that look like alot of fun to play with/to build around like this one 6RR giant that makes two 3/1 red elementals with an ability to sac elementals to regenerate him.

Interesting. Looks good but I'd sideboard in a few of the cheaper non-black killspells and discard to help you gain an advantage if it's 1 vs 1.

Well, I picked Monomania as an example because everyone can agree it's a bad card. But unless a) Wizards prints a "discard your hand" card at 3 CMC, or b) you think a player will dump their hand rather than getting their Darksteel Ingot countered, it's a moot point anyway because it's not even close to being a discard spell.

Perplex is bad in both modes, and I'm surprised I'm the only one in here saying that.

You're not the only one saying this. I'm saying it as well. However I use it because it's a fun bad card to use that also allows you to be flexible. Lastly, it also gives your opponent the choice to still cast that card at their inconveniences.

First, yes this card is terrible because it doesn't straight up counter a spell.
2nd, it allows you to tutor for a free 3 CmC card.

However with that being said, it's still my favorite counterspell because it's hilarious to see if someone wants that certain spell enough to discard your hand- or to search for cultivate because I'm needing some lands since I missed a few land drops.

However the key to using that card correctly lies within these 3 things.
1 Timing- You need to know when you use this card whether it be to counter or to search. It may take a very long time till you become proficient with it.
2 Key card to counter- Part of what makes this a great card is that if you know your opponent well enough, you can force him to discard his entire hand just to cast that one card that he needs for his strategy.
3 CmC cards- The flip side isn't all about countering but what to put into your deck that you can tutor for if you don't need it to counter something.

Once you get these 3 things down, you should be good to go with using this card. Besides it's more fun to use this card than any other counterspell because it forces your opponents to think on whether the spell is "worth" playing.

Oh, well sorry then. The post at the beginning didn't specify so I took the liberty of copying and pasting what was on my notebook to here about the planeswalker that I'd like seen. Even if this isn't me. It would be awesome to have a planeswalker who does more with illusions than anyone else. Jace does mind tricks and Bolas can shatter your mind, while Ashiok... who knows. but either way, I'd like to see a guy who can conjure a car out of midair or something like that.

This whole post doesn't have to be about me you know. Just want someone who fits the bill.

    Dream
    Savant Illusionist Planeswalker

If I could be a planeswalker within the magic universe, it would be as a savant- an uneducated planeswalker
with a unique gift. Of creating the perfect illusion. Of creating one so real, that it would be real for a short
    amount of time.

However, I wouldn't be just an ordinary guy who found out how to create illusions, but to be tied with another entity named Dream.
He might be a being I conjured up, a spirit who stuck with me for an unknown purpose which I'll find out later about, or maybe he could be a curse put upon me by the devil, or maybe it's somehow me, a darker more silent- but deadly version.

Either way, as the background goes for my planeswalker persona, Dream has been a big help and I've been learning alot, both from practicing and from Dream's reminders. He's not so much as a teacher as he is someone who follows me with his own agenda. We're not
always enemies, but we're friendly to each other for most of the time. Lastly, he's more like a machine
than a person from what I've gathered.

    History

    Theros Block
In the beginning, before everything that happened, did happen, I had many strange dreams over the course of a month that involved zombies and Innistrad. This never made much of an immediate impact on me, but it because of those dreams, my mind now feels dark, damp and full of dead things, very much similar to zombies.

The day I found out that I could planeswalk was during March/ April of 2014 where I ended up stuck inside
the world of Theros right after Elspeth defeated the hydra which lead her to being Heliod's champion.
Never did meet her, but I ran into Ashiok, the Nightmare Weaver who I realized that after he told me he
was looking for the ultimate nightmare was looking for me. Because within the perfect illusion as I had
discovered, was the capacity to turn whatever the user wanted into something horrifying. In this case,
if Ashiok ever got his hands on Dream, then likely even the Eldrazi would seem to be a minor issue.
In short, Dream is very much like the ultimate Illusion, because he is a physical manifestation of that
    which I see or visualize.

As it was, I kept Ashiok from getting dream, but it ironically was Dream who did all of the work as I was
mostly mentally incapacitated. Never did fully recover from that fight but thankfully I've forgotten much
    of what happened that night.

A little while later, I started traveling after Ajani and Elspeth after they started their journey into
Nyx. Didn't find out what happened to Elspeth until after Ajani came out. At the time we weren't friends,
and while I still don't think we are, I think we better understand each other.

For the time being, I'm staying away from Ashiok as far as possible and will do what I can to help both
Ajani and Elspeth as I know Heliod overstepped his bounds and his role in killing Elspeth.

More recently, while things unfolded on Tarkir with Sarkhan and Ugin, I would be focusing all of my
energy on taking down Nicol Bolas- aside from avoiding Ashiok. Knowing what it would take, I enlisted
the help of several others, who being impressed with my ability to conjure scenes and people so beautiful
that made them cry, namely one by the name of Krieg, the Psycho. He's a self-proclaimed baddass who can
take the head of just anyone. Apparently that's a title which he earned. He can't talk or thing straight,
but I was able to get enough out of him to understand that. This could come in handy against Bolas's
mind-shattering touch. I mean how can you break someone's mind when their mind and body works on two
different levels? Also found out that he's apparently someone with morals and someone who is important
who he lost a long time ago. Hates Hyperion personnel which I find amusing. Anyway, after seeing this guy
hit a freight train and derail the whole thing, kind of realized that I found everyone that I needed
in order to take down Bolas.

As I step out with my team on Zendikar for the 2nd time, my thoughts darken as I prepare to do something
that I've never done before. To kill Bolas. As we approach the bottom of the mountain where Bolas is at,
you can see Bolas looking down at us while Krieg is looking up at Bolas. He yells and lifts up his Buzz
Axe as the rest of us charge....
Funny enough I love playing with Bolas (both cards), and while I don't hate him, he stands for pretty much everything which puts him at the opposite end of the spectrum usually.

However, things would be similar to this but not exact. If I were a planeswalker, I would want to get to know and to befriend as many other Legendary creatures as possible- or to at least let me call upon them in time of need at least. There would be a handful that would be enemies or at least that would have a grudge against me.
Ajani- We're friends but we hold a longstanding grudge against each other.
Sarkhan- We're distant, but not unfriendly.
Sidisi- She uses people in a way that made me hate her initially. Currently we're working on our problems.

In the future, please use the edit feature instead of double posting.

Also, this is not the place for fanfiction or custom planeswalkers. The point of this thread is to suggest walker archetypes, color combinations, races, etc. that haven't been seen yet, or past characters who could show up in supplementary sets like Commander decks.

Again, this thread is not for your custom characters and fanfiction backstories. Custom cards belong in Custom Card Creation, and fanfiction belongs in Personal Writing.

I disagree. Wizards knew what they were doing when they announced that this (fate reforged) would have a time travel element. Because of this statement combined with the Ob Nixilis Black M14 Commander deck leads me to think that many parts of history will be changed. Not everything will be changed because of Sarkhan's actions, but I do believe that many will. Also a bit of a side-note here. Not sure if there are any "good" dragons/ dragon planeswalkers because Nicol Bolas kind of shattered that belief for me.
