its still more relevant in 1v1 than Sygg's because you don't have as many players to draw cards off of

Do you have any idea how the deck actually functions in 1v1?

Oona will never resolve in 1v1. No 6cmc general is even remotely competitive in that format.

I thought the first quote above was terrible until I read this one....there are plenty of very strong 6cc or higher generals that are considered "competitive" and some of which are incredibly strong. Wort and Akroma and friends would be very angry to see that quote. Not to mention that Oona can back herself up with counters in order to resolve anyways...shed still be 3rd on my list, but shes not bad.

Sygg allows you to build a very fast beatdown deck that takes the opponent from 30 life to 0

While my vote is still for Sygg, this above statement isnt always true...dont assume just because the mtgsalvation rules say 1v1 is for 30 that everybody follows that rule. Same goes for the French rules...the players following those rules are in the extreme minority when it comes to commander/edh on this planet. Just because people dont follow those rules doesnt mean their lists/metas are any less competitive (hell considering how small the ban list is for others, the non-1v1 list lists are probably stronger than their 1v1 counterparts in most cases...outside of where a few cards are concerened like Balance) Dont assume that because you play one way that everybody else isnt following the primary rules of the format.

I really like Sygg, really depends on meta though

From my experiences it pays to have multiple decks...have a deck that has powerful combos to play against others who have similarily strong decks...and have a deck that doesnt so the more casual players who dont like that sort of thing will continue to want to play against you.

Grand Arbiter I guess, I like the idea of Hannah but she never seems to really be that competitive to me (although UW in general I have never liked competitivly..) lolz a friend of mine made an Ith deck that was pretty good vs some decks, hopelessly bad vs everything else tho ;p

May I remind people that this is for 1v1 and NOT for multiplayer...I still see people commenting saying things like "for duels" and other silly things...

I know the only real removal Thrun needs to worry about is the mass kind..and this suggestion gets owned by the same thing (but hey, thrun is sorta a one trick poney anyways right?) but have you considered running creature ramp instead of spell ramp? Using elves as a base for your mana acceleration gives you early thruns just like the spell options, but can also give you a decent win condition couple with either going all in elves and playing elf aggro or combo, but also having little mana dorks + equipment can be exciting as well.

Also since we are still a ramp deck of sorts, why no Eldrazi Conscription or other such big enchants? Resolved on Thrun and its pretty much game over.

Life from the Loam is pretty good and can steal games with strip mine/wasteland early enough. I am not 100% sure it fits in Thrun or not though.

Lots of non competitive votes here for green it looks like...

The only option is Azusa...by a long long way. Kahmal is not good sorry, Ezuri is allright, but I wouldnt want to play in a tournament with it.

while significantly worse than Greaves, still grants shroud and haste

while not super relevant for this particular deck, it should be noted that swiftfoot boots does not in fact give shroud...it gives hexproof which can be a major difference. Just wanted to point that out since it seems to get overlooked. Does the difference make it as good as greaves? Probably not here, but there are certainly a lot of general damage based decks that should run it.

Also, I dont see how people dont like Phyrexian Revoker...I know it doesnt have evasion but its ability is extreemly relevant against a lot of cards in the format. I get cutting something for Sylvan Library..but I dont get why it was Revoker.

Archmage Ascension seems too slow and too fragile as you already pointed out...compare it to other options at 3cc and I just dont see how it fits.

Sunder is maybe maybe too expensive at 5cc, but I love the idea of it being in line with tanglewire and winter orb type shenanigans. I know that I would generally be more happy keeping to 4cc and lower though.

Control Magic is excellent creature "removal" in colors that at times have difficulty answering nasty creatures...I know in a perfect world we just counter everything...but hey sometimes you need a reactive answer. I understand how good Exploration is early game, but at the same time I dont totally get why the deck needs it. We can ramp into an extra creature faster I guess, and it lets us play extra drawn lands. However, this sort of thing really seems to get us ahead in matchups where we are already doing pretty well, it doesnt help us against decks that are ramping for reals and playing real threats. After the first turn or two I dont get the point of exploration, I dont feel like I HAVE to play all additional lands drawn and I dont believe it actually improves the game state to a great degree. Again though, like your swap on Revoker, I just dont see how swapping these two cards makes sense...you are doing completely different things with them. I feel like you are trading out good answers for raw goldfishing power, which might be fine where you are. Exploration and especially Sylvan Library both fit the deck very well, but so do Phyrexian Revoker and Control Magic.

I would probably keep the list as is with the following changes:

    Kokusho is unbanned

    Sol Ring is Banned
    Mana Crypt is Banned

outside of that I think they are doing a fantastic job on the list. Its really a shame that with the commander precons Sol Ring was included as this is a pretty good sign they dont find it a problem. I contend though that anybody who doesnt find it overpowered is most likely not playing in a group that runs more highly competitive/top tier decks. The player who randomly gets Sol Ring turn 1 or 2 tends to win games a ridiculously high % of games. Mana Crypt is just as bad or worse with the drawback being somewhat negligible if the decks running it can combo the whole table long before 40 life ticks off.

On the other hand, with the recent unbanning of Worldgorger Dragon the folks in charge of the list are obviously okay with degenerate combos (making Kokusho even more questionable for the list) so if you want to take that stance (let the playgroup politics determine what cards get played) then I suppose a few other things could technically come of the list as well.

The hilarious one to me though is people thinking Primeval Titan should be banned...what a joke.

Unban Kokusho, Lion's Eye Diamond, Sway of the Stars, Staff of Domination, Painter's Servant. Maybe also Biorhythm, Coalition Victory, and Yawgmoth's Bargain.

This unban list is interesting and goes along with the "let everything go and let groups dictate" Im pretty sure that that list of cards makes combo even more gross than it might already be. Lion's Eye Diamond, Staff of Domination and Yawgmoth's Bargain seem like solid bans, and I understand things like Biorhythm and Coalition Victory not really due to their "brokenness" but just do to them really not being in flavor for this format (sorta like how Ante cards were legal for the old 5-color format) still though, there are other similar cards that exist in the format so they should either be fully banned for flavor or legal cause they honestly arent that amazing.

The guy who said crucible + strip mine has the right idea.

I play Azusa and Wort and it is fairly easy to attack the mana base of niv and just never let him hit the board...after that it is just a really bad UR deck that might draw a few cards but has pretty limited threats.

    Also

If you can get one...Chains of Mephistopheles is pretty house, might not stop him entirely, but is pretty hilarious vs Niv.

I <3 Cataclysm, but mainly just cause I am not allowed to use Balance

Smokestack is a tricky one to use against ramp, as they generally will have a lot of permanents making it perhaps more painful for you than them.

For aggro decks though I love using Winter Orb and Tanglewire

Armageddon works just fine vs Ramp as well so long as you drop it with a threat out before they have dropped a win condition. Which goes for basically every other LD card you try to use against them.

The real problem with ramp is when ramp also decides to start running its own LD...then you might be in trouble.
