    Howdy, Its Jon Loucks.

@ Majora X: I pumped the 10x lifelink guy with Ricky's Secret Weapon. It was only +1/+1, but gaining 20 felt awesome.

@ bateleur: You're not the only one that loves brian wong's cards. He tends to start from art, and is know to scrap cards if he can't find the appropriate art for it. He has a very elegant sense of humor, and it tends to translate into his cards.

@Arcengal: That savage merfolk is part of a cycle, and I totally agree with you. Dan made a contious decision to make it so you can't get both effects, but I think they should have. You should be rewarded for making XXYY! Some would have been too powerful with both abilities, but I think he could have come up with different abilities or tweaked the P/T. Either way, they looked good and played great.

@ArcanePie: Somebody went to Kinkos (ricky I think) and they printed out sheets of cards for us. (Brian and I have some framed uncut Boo5 sheets.) I'm not sure how much it cost or what we printed it on...do you know Gavin?

@jokalhaups: When you say "from scratch" I hope you don't mean card design. While you could probably design 45 cards in an afternoon, we each had a couple months to design. I found design worked best making a few cards, then walking away for a while. I tended to come up with ideas (like Stasify) but wasn't quite sure how to use them yet. I would think about them for a while, then come back with a bunch of ideas.

Boo was really fun, and I've already started work on my Boo7 set with mechanics I couldn't fit in my last set.

How is Doogle a fan favorite? O_o All he does is eat my food, bum rides off me and borrow my cards.

Because he is living the dream.

Thanks for the interview Gavin! Sorry things didn't work out for you, but the deck was very smart. I guess I can see why you didn't play mine...

WTF tcgplayer is hacked? Anybody know what's going on? I hope it can be fixed by next week, we have set reviews coming up!

Edit: I hear there is a trojan on the site. I wouldn't recommend visiting it until things are fixed. What you see when you visit is "hacked by RemotE and ..." some other name.

I think I just figured out what was going on here, and now I feel dumb. My apologies.

In any case, I like them both, and I really hope the buyback one is an instant. The other one seems solid either way, and I could see it replacing (or at least being tested instead of) tidings in some decks. I'm actually wondering if Dragonstorm would like it, as it can ship dragons to the bottom, and as has been pointed out, it does dig- deep. Maybe sleight of hand and telling time are enough, but its a thought.

Hunter, I do not doubt your information. Really. I am just wondering, how the heck did you remember the card set numbers and not the card type? And who the heck talks about card numbers? I am just really really curious, not doubtful. So please, can I get an answer? Anything? It just doesn't make sense.

Edit: The only thing I can come up with is that the train story is fake (but not the info) because you CAN'T tell us the real story...because of...Wizards?

Edit number 2: Or his account was hacked. Who knows. I'm really racking my brain here.

Answer me this: How do you not hear what the card type is (instant/sorcery) BUT you get the card set numbers? Who says the set numbers out loud? Have you ever had a discussion where the set number was mentioned? I'm just baffled by this, as I can't come up with an answer.

I am glad they have changed it, but I turn 19 in november! They should give everybody who COULD have participated if this was the way it always was 3 years to still compete, no matter what the age. I could still use that scholarship!

Any timeshifted list without Call of the Herd is simply inadequite. I will not argue this. (Don't try, I doubt i'll ever look at this post again) This is my opinion.

(Feel free to talk amongst yourselves, though)

Hola. I am doing a paper for a class on Globalization (at the University of Washington, for those who care) and we have to pick a TNC (Trans National Corporation) to do a research paper on. I, naturally, chose Wizards of the Coast, more specifically, their product Magic. Imagine that!

So, mtgsalvation, this brings me to you. I am trying to find advertisements used by WotC at various times, preferably those that have to do with global imagery. This includes pictures of the globe, people of varying races, or stressing a global presence. One such advertisement that I can remember is one in Nintendo Power saying "Over 6 Million Players Worldwide" above a sea of people of different magic players, of different races, each with their favorite Magic card. I remember seeing it, but can't seem to find the advertisement.

I am looking for help on locating advertisements. If anybody knows a useful place to find advertisements used by WotC, or has a link to a WotC Magic add, can you let me know, please? Any other help/suggestions/sources would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help, and who knows, maybe I will post my final paper, just for kicks. Feel free to ask questions. Thanks again,

    Jon

When do you guys think we will get a reply back? I am thinking sometime in the next 24 hours through mostly automated grading, or like a week, if more thought is put in to it.
    Your guesses?

Wizards has been moving away from subtypes have an effect at least for creatures, but that is not really the case for other card types.

You are right! I wasn't thinking about lands/artifacts/enchantments. I stand (mostly) defeated.

I tried to give it a similar templating to Arcane.

Yes, but Arcane has no rules baggage, like elf, it means nothing on its own. What I am saying is that Legendary used to be like elf, but they didn't like it. They probably won't like arcane (basically "elf" on a sorcery/instant) on par with instant, which has rules attached. Anybody else see what I mean?

7: "Instant" turned into "Sorcery - Instant".

I know where your going (or went, really) but it might be better as "Instant Sorcery - " because Wizards is straying away from (or eliminating) subtypes with rules baggage, like Wall and Legend.

I don't mean this as an attack, most of your other stuff was good. Good luck to you! (and me)
