First off, unbanning everything is distinctly not what I want. I said pretty explicitly that everything is fine as-is, hence the adherence to the status quo.
The tent is huge enough right now, I'm the only one (it seems) who doesn't want it any smaller because I don't want anything new banned nor any sweeping, dramatic changes to micromanage or standardize the experience.
But to be totally fair to your hilarious quote "summary", I'm also the only one who already has what he wants, so I'll concede this might not be a thread requiring my input. On the other hand, this echo chamber of void-screaming could also occasionally remember that a lot of people are happy with EDH right now.
All of you complain too much. I play edh to play a format unlike any other. If I can jam necropotence, grim monolith, greater good, and reality scramble into the same deck and have it work, that's why I'm here.
Truthfully, I'm baffled why everyone can't just enjoy their freedom instead of breaking into these weird factions of "ban this aspect" vs "ban some other thing". Less is most certainly not more, so maybe quit trying to actively winnow the possibilities and opportunities for other people. This is a great format as-is, nothing broken, nothing to fix.
Anyway, just popped in to approve of the stellar status quo and I eagerly await yet another relatively hands-off B&R announcement in the coming weeks.
Instead of self-imposed restrictions, I'd suggest you build something like Goreclaw with attacks at an obvious angle and with a big-ass blinking weakspot. Sure, you may have 30 power by turn 5, but one wrath and it'll hurt. I think this may help you continue optimizing (making a faster stompy deck) while giving your opponents a REALLY OBVIOUS way to hold you at bay and respond.
New abzan elf is mad weird. Cost reduction and recursion, cool, but... legendary tribal? In abzan? I was super hype for a new choice in that wedge, but I guess I'll stick with Doran, who isn't crammed headfirst into the world's smallest pigeonhole.
I do not appreciate this stupid company toying with my emotions like this. "We're dead! Sayonara!"......"We're back! You now belong to this other mindless conglomerate, and we'll see how far their give-a-***** takes you before you're back to step 1. Good luck and enjoy that twitch account we forced upon you all!"
I'm personally out. MTGS is home, sure, but **** am I ready to move out. I haven't really been enthused any of the changes made in the last few years (don't care for twitch or the deckbuilder), so I'll take the leap. Worst come to worst, I'll be back if the new site nosedives. But unless you make me subscribe to another totally unrelated service just to use the new platform, I doubt I shall return.
P.S. to those designing the new site, pleasepleaseplease don't make me jump through stupid hoops like Curse did. I don't want to attach my nonexistant Facebook to my account or integrate any other crap into a process that should not extend beyond email-> username-> password-> confirmation email code.
It's a low opportunity cost for potentially busted necroptence/greater good plays IMO. If I play big draw, I play it. And this is edh, folks. You should be playing big draw.
someone would surely be interested in taking the helm. don't be those guys that up end a community just because.
Essentially, the owners of the site (from reading the article about why the site is closing) no longer wants to support and does not want to allocate resources for maintaining it. The new site, by the sounds of it, will be built and maintained by members of the community, thus allowing them the ability to develop and change as needed instead of at the whim of some owning body.
I think we're all aware of the corporate influence on mtgs terminal situation, but I think what we all deserve to know is why they (Curse) went through all that ******* trouble to purchase mtgs and force us to use twitch (which was unpopular to say the least), just to let the door hit us on the way out when mtgs loses some money?
Frankly, Curse doesn't understand the basics about its customers or the relative fragility of market relations. We, the consumers from whom all advertising revenue is derived, don't appreciate having the rug pulled out on our community because of some executive's preferred bottom line and may be more hesitant to invest our time and eyeballs in other curse content. Furthermore, any other up-and-coming sites that curse might want to buy in the future now have a poignant example of what happens to Curse's assets when the bigshots "turn toward other projects" or whatever. I can't possibly fathom what Curse is thinking here. They need loyal viewers and business legitimacy, and they're jeopardizing both in one artless swoop.
Tribute mage is a dramatic scepter's best friend. ALSO, the reveal of a permanent green staple. If you've even run somberwald sage, the tribe is undoubtedly better.
Well, I suppose I will see you all in mtg hell (or whatever the next forum's called).
But I mean damn, the spacejam website was up until 2015, but now some curse bigshots get to buy us out, force us to use twitch (if only tangentially), and then leave us out to dry so they can pump out what, more crappy MOBA guides? What are those mooks thinking?
I use about 5 websites. Five. No exaggeration or hyperbole. Now I'll have four, or at least have to update my bookmarks soon. I am saddened.
I'm not sure if wiping people's hands turn 4 or turn five really changes anything. I agree mirko is unadulterated disappointment, but your suggestion sure wouldn't be better.
