Why not 4 Thalia's/anafenza's. I feel like I always want one on the board and they eat removal so fast that increasing the probability of having a backup seems reasonable.
Match 1: Grixis Delver 0-2
G1: Pretty grindy first game, he got me pretty low with an early delver that I couldnt deal with until later. Once he got the other ones out and tapped me down there wasn't much I could do.
G2: Mull to 5 and kept a pretty good hand, but he kept a perfect hand will all of this spot removal. Ran out of steam pretty quickly.
Match 2: Naya Burn 2-0
G1: Finks+anafenza+thalia did work. Not much else to say
G2: Sided in the obvious spells, never saw them. Finks anafenza and thalia did work again.
Match 3: D+T Mirror...lol 1-1-1
G1: I was able to get more bodies out then he was and drew more paths.
G2: Sided in auriok and disenchants, never saw them. He was able to overwhelm me with golems and first strike mutavaults.
G3: went to time and drew. All of these were super grindy and I wasnt expecting this match up.
Match 4: U/G/B delver 2-0
G1: The guy was playing his friends deck to test it for him. Lots of card draw and filtering presumably to get delver to activate at a higher percentage. Flyers overwhelmed him. Flickerwisp and Resto were king here.
G2: Sided out brimaz and in Crusader. Anafenza turn 2 crusader turn 3 got him down to 10. My guys got tapped down a few turns in a row by a flashbacked crytpic. I was finally able to overwhlem a few turns later.
Random thoughts:
Anafenza and finks is real haha. Loving that interaction.
Intrepid Hero did nothing, but thats a total meta call. Moving him to the side probably.
All mindcensor did was flash in to chump a delver, I'll still keep 2 in the main for now.
I might add Spirit in, so much card draw advantage I cant really do much about in my meta.
Played the basic mono white version of this deck in paper for the first time last night
Went 1-3 but easily could have gone 2-2 or 3-1 without misplays.
First game was against Twin.
G1 Opponent kept a greedy hand and got punished by my GQ and arbiter, scooped after turn 3.
G2 Found out he was playing twin and had no reponse.
G3 sided in some stuff and delayed twin as best I could. ended up forgetting to tick up my vial to 4 so I could vial resto and change the target of revoker to his creature with twin on it :\
Second game was against "weird storm". The 11 land 1 cmc spell deck that tried to go off with that paradise artifact.
G1 crushed by the combo
G2, Op mulls to 5, I keep artifact hate and thalia, easy win.
G3 See game 2.
Third game was against twin again.
G1 opponent scoops early to land destruction and arbiter
G2 I get very close but get greedy and forget to keep a path up for his creature and I let twin fire off
G3 Mull a greedy hand which may have been a mistake (1 plains + all my 2 +1 CMC creatures...) Go to 5 and he keeps a "perfect hand"
4th game was pod without the pod. Rhinos thune, ooze, etc.
G1 Also get there but he gets archangel of thune out and I can't find a way to get her off the board.
G2 mana screwed and dies easily
Definitely bringing in suppression fields for the side against twin.
Dismember might find a slot in the main, I boarded it in every game I think.
Heres a new 5-0 list with no cathartic reunion...
4 Reflector Mage
3 Consul's Lieutenant
4 Thalia's Lieutenant
4 Knight of the White Orchid
4 Hanweir Militia Captain
3 Archangel of Tithes
2 Dragonlord Ojutai
3 Silkwrap
4 Always Watching
1 Stasis Snare
12 Plains
3 Island
4 Port Town
4 Prairie Stream
SB tends to look like:
dragon hunters, stasis snares, erie interludes + negates so far. Needs some work.
Deck needs some enchantment hate. Maybe a number of felidar cub in the side?
Also if you dont have bodies out its extremely weak to Planeswalkers.
I actually won g3 off vapor snag damage which felt nice.
I got steamrolled by affinity though. Def need 4 recalls.
4 Aether Vial
4 Path to Exile
Creatures (29)
2 Dryad Militant
3 Thalia, Guardian of Thraben
4 Leonin Arbiter
4 Flickerwisp
3 Anafenza
4 Kitchen Finks
2 Aven Mindcensor
1 Intrepid Hero
3 Restoration Angel
2 Brimaz
1 Spellskite
4 Ghost Quarter
3 Tectonic Edge
1 Eiganjo Castle
15 Plains
2 Rest in peace
2 Celestial Purge
1 Kor Firewalker
2 Mirran Crusader
2 Disenchant
1 dismember
2 stony silence
1 engineered explosives
1 auriok champion
1 mark of asylum
