Anyway the card eventually evolved into what you will see. Please do give constructive criticism as I like making Create-a-Cards for fun.
Felkrath of the Occult
1UBR
+2 Gain a 0/4 Red/Black Shackled Demon with Defender.
-2 Felkrath deals 2 damage divided as you choose among one or two target creatures and/or players. Draw a card.
-7 All demons you control gain +8/+0 gain Trample and lose Defender.
2 Loyalty
I would consider giving the demons some natural power. Your walker is relatively hard to cast so he can be powerful. I would also try to connebt the two halves of the -2 more. Maybe change "draw a card" to "whenever a creature dealt damage this way dies this turn, draw a card." Ultimate could be a little more general, perhaps, pump all creatures instead of just demons. And as suggested either make until end of turn or an emblem (I would recommend end of turn for balancing).
I put myself firmly in the change their name camp. The title redskins is offensive to native Americans and while I am not of that background myself I can see others would offended. A name is just a name, many other teams have changed their names over the years and changing would be of no consequence to the teams. So the fans have to buy a new shirt - the teams want them to buy the latest shirt each year anyway. It's not as if we are far away from each selling their name to corporate sponser anyway.
I mean who could be offended by the Washington Dunkin' Donouts. There's a team I could root for.
It's far too early to write off this card as unplayable in limited and anyone who tries to say that is just desperate to prove their point without worrying about whether their actually right.
It costs 5 mana just to cast...2 mana to activate each time, and you need cards to scry with to actually make it worth it. That's not taking into account the amount of increased enchantment hate in this block proportional to other blocks. Even being just 5 mana for a do-nothing enchantment that requires more mana each time you want to use it means you're pretty dead.
It offers extra value to your scry cards. Did you know that there is a common creature in this block that scrys whenever it attacks. Or a creature that can scry just by tapping. You simply can't be sure whether a card will work out until you play the format, see where the curve will be (i.e. whether five mana is a lot) and the potential value of free shocks is not to underestimated.
I think the problem here is people have no sense of fun or discovery anymore. They want another snapcaster mage or something obviously pushed so they can "oh there's a powerful card, I can just build the same deck as everyone else and we can all have fun trying to reach the pro tour". If you want to force yourself to believe people won't play this card then fine. You can jsut be wrong.

Man I forgot about searing meditation, dat card was fun. Sure it didn't warp formats, but heck if a card must warp formats to be considered good then your in for constant disappointment Alestra.
Black got the worst font, 2 mana to play, then the mana of a gravedigger to do the same thing, without actually getting a creature on the field. Feast of dreams will be relevant in standard for a few more months, and that is one of the better cards because it is relevant right now. A crappier nightmare reprint. Extinguish all hop which will be nullified in the current standard, and pretty much only makes standard decks have a slightly better chance against non standard decks. In anything else it works as a pricier Damnation, and the mythic black got is too pricey to be decent.
King Macar is the one decent card, and even then he has to get tapped, and untap in order to activate his effect, so unless you combo around it you probably wont get anything from it.
The only thing that might have gotten slighted more is Green, but green got some land or enchantment destruction that will stand the test of time. Draw power for enchantment decks. Dictate of Karametra for 12 land on your turn 6, and getting the advantage of using it first over your opponent. The hydra broodmaster to make at least 6 extra 6/6 hydras, including his 13/13 body turn 7, and a centaur lord. They just got one less card than the rest, and they miss a mythic, which they kinda make up for in Ajani.
Overall, black got slighted more than any other color, and has been since the vampire tribe dropped in zendikar. Every color tends to get some decent cards and some trash cards, they can't all be gold. But if any color gets snubbed it's black.
Have you seen standard lately... cause there's a quite a lot black right now.
Any card that scrys cheaply (for instance Stormcaller of Keranos) will be able to abuse this. You just need to see it play. Or you can wait til the prerelease when someone's UR deck destroys you with this.
Also you claimed this card was representative of the block when there are plenty of non-enchantment, agressively costed cards that will play in competitive decks across multiple formats. I think you need some perspective.
I don't know how to reply to someone who thinks an enchantment that costs five mana, and then an additional 2 mana + an effect it can't produce itself to do ANYTHING, is a fine card that should be included in a deck.
I let you in on a secret, you include dis in deks dat scry anyway.
It's a horrible card in a deck that scrys.
How do you not get this?
Like I said, combine it with cards that scry repeatedly and you can get shock(s) for 2 each turn without spending a card. It's called value, and it's an important concept to get, particular in the late game.
